Tedious Tasks

Mission Details:

It’s his first mission as a Tsukigakure Genin - and while he wouldn’t describe himself as excited, Seikatsu has decided that he will attempt to enjoy and try and have fun. These missions wouldn’t normally be what you call difficult at all, however, they seem tedious enough to end up slightly annoying. The first mission that he was tasked with today was to help set up lanterns, stalls, and some other decorations within Sutageiza Koto, the bustling district of Tsukigakure. This was also the place he came to do the “secret shopping” for that shady man…

”Maybe I should visit that store, I’m sure they will have a few things I need around this new place… decisions decisions.”

Seikatsu spoke his thoughts aloud as he tossed his coat over the white shirt he was currently wearing. His slightly long hair flipped and then flopped back down, the dangling earrings making a faint sound if you listened closely. As the noise from the earrings settled, he stepped out of his front door, ready to start his day.

He headed towards the Sutageiza district to get an early start on his mission. Seikatsu was eager to complete his task promptly, hoping that if he finished early, he would have the chance to train or at least do something more productive with his time. The morning air was brisk, and the streets were starting to come alive with the hustle and bustle of daily activities. As he walked, he mentally prepared himself for the challenges ahead, determined to make the most of the day so he could get back to doing what would provide him with a sense of purpose, training.

It wasn’t long before Seikatsu reached his designated meeting point. He was supposed to meet another individual who would be assisting him with his duties today. However, like most things Seikatsu did, he wasn't one to wait around for others to show up; he could end up wasting the entire day if that were the case. The slightly tall fifteen-year-old let his blue eyes wander, quickly spotting the supplies they were there to set up. Without hesitation, Seikatsu walked over to the supplies and began gathering a few items. The first things he picked up were some lanterns that needed to be placed strategically around Sutageiza Koto. His movements were brisk but controlled, reflecting his efficiency and focus.

As he started setting up the lanterns, his mind wandered to the tasks ahead. The streets of Sutageiza Koto were gradually filling with people, and the morning light created a serene yet energetic atmosphere. Seikatsu worked diligently, ensuring each lantern was placed with precision. The task was simple, but he approached it with the same seriousness he applied to his ninja training. Minutes turned into an hour as Seikatsu continued his work, his thoughts occasionally drifting to the person he was supposed to meet. He wondered what they would be like and whether they would be as dedicated to the mission as he was. For now, though, he focused on the task at hand, determined to make the most of his time and prove his reliability and skill.

”I suppose if they show up, I’ll nod in their direction and say hello to them, no need to cause a big scene.”

His thoughts vanished like smoke as he placed the last lantern. Now would be the more difficult part as he needed to get some stalls put up - in front of certain games they were going to be having. His pace quickened a little bit as he didn’t really expect to spend an hour placing lanterns of all things. It was then that he realized the person had shown up. Seikatsu, who never was really one to talk - slightly explained what he had already done in regards to the mission. Now the two just needed to get a few stalls in place and the finishing touches. It shouldn’t take them more than a couple of hours to do.

Though his community service was officially completed, there was some amount of implication that his services were not necessarily needed.... but would be nice to have in a few more tasks around the village.  As much as he wished to disagree with such notions.... a small sense of duty caused him to abide by the call anyway.  It was with this sense of duty that he dressed and prepared himself for the day.  A white and black kimono with a jade sash, wooden sandals.  His hair was tied up in a traditional topknot, his horns poking through the hair.  It had recently come to his attention that he was not the sole member of his clan in the area, though such things did little to comfort him.  Rather it did nothing but make him think of home and the things he should...and should not have done.  Regardless, such things didn't matter for now.  There was only the upcoming tournament, and depending on how that went.... would determine what he did moving forward in his life, even if that meant moving back just a few steps.  Looking at himself in the mirror he finished grooming his appearance and took stock of what he saw.  At 6 foot 7 inches tall, He cut an impressive frame against most of the lither shinobi that now populated the village.  That is, if it wasn't for the fact he was now pushing 400lbs at his last weigh in.  When he had arrived within the land of moon, he'd been leaner if only slightly, but as he moved towards battle, he had armored himself with even more flesh.

It was with this in mind he had made his own request of the cultural department when they had wanted him.  He had no urge to do anything as mundane as hanging lanterns and mere decoration.  Instead, he'd requested the heavier jobs.  The lifting, he'd at least seek to get a workout in while he helped the village.  He arrived later than what he had requested, but intime to do what he was tasked with.  As he approached, he saw a man finishing hanging up some lanterns.  Approaching he was approx. 5 inches taller, though significantly wider than the man.  "Where are we putting these?"  He'd say without much of a greeting.  As he did, he would point a thumb over his shoulder at the various stalls that clearly needed assembled and moved.

Once he had direction he'd get to work.  The items that required two or three men to move, Takeshiyama merely hoisted and moved by himself.  He worked mostly in a stoic silence, his mind clearly on tasks outside of the mission before him.  Moving quickly, he had set up and moved several stalls and all the associated merchandise in crates and barrels with them.  Sweating slightly, he deeply wished tradition didn't dictate he needed to maintain the state of dress he was in.  Perhaps a dip in the hot spring would do.  Looking around he noted that they weren't quite finished, though the heavy moving was complete.

Walking back up to the man he'd first seen, he'd give a shout.  "Oi, I'm going to head out.  I know its early, but how about you take my pay, and we call it square."  Without giving the man much time to respond he'd head out in the direction of the hotspirngs.  Also, though its not stated, Wiggly-Woo is totally in his robes this whole time.
