The room she was staying in was rather small given the popularity of the inn, only a small bed with white sheets and a similarly colored blanket over a dark spruce wood floor. A small grey wooden desk near the window, and a drawer that looked as though it was cut from stone. The small rays of the morning sun illuminated the room when the light was off. Ryoushi’s clothes were hanging by her side, her raven hair down to the middle of her back, purple eyes staring at the small clock mounted onto the wall. The moment the clock had stricken 7:00 was when she pulled herself out of bed. Her skin has minimal scars, primarily on her wrists and ankles that looked as though they were cut with a serrated tooth—a nasty incident with a rival group of mercenaries. One that she wished to look back on without the threat of her ankles and wrists flaring up in pain. She heard the small chirping of birds, her finger twitched at the sound, she had never really felt comfortable. Her hand almost instinctively grasped for the handle of her sword, only to find that it was not there. Ryoushi felt her heartbeat racing, head turning like a swivel, she saw the white handle of her blade inside its scabbard. The blade had been placed on the other side of the bed.
She couldn't believe that she had become so anxious inside of a new village. Her fingers were still close to her hip while she began to dress herself. Her chest was always the annoying part, wrapping her bandages around her chest. She felt the slight squeeze before the effect no longer came by. It was like clockwork at this point. Wrapping herself up inside of her Ronin robes and pulling up her pants. She slipped on the brownish-blue shoes grabbed her sword and straw hat and opened her door before quietly closing it shut. Her eyes scanned the surrounding halls, small glitters of light creeping over the edges of the hallway before she was gone, already rushing down the stairs and heading down the main door, only to find a peculiar sight. A small wooden board filled with small papers requesting people's assistance. The rank prescribed to them was the letter E, meaning that they would be the lowest rank possible for someone to attempt. A good start for her to gain trust within the village even if she was not recognized officially as a member of Tsukigakure. She’d take a few of the mission requests, carefully pushing them into her robes before carrying on, knowing that there were many other requests inside of that tavern that most likely would have to be taken care of. Yet the first one she would take up happened to be the one that could lead her into other opportunities the most.
Yet she didn’t expect Patrol training to be so interesting, at least for herself. She was with a group that was assigned for this duty, a group of genin that either seemed bored or disinterested. Some of them not even looking as the teacher of this exercise, a rather scrawny-looking chunin, explained how different vantage points could be useful to know given the rather minor size of the village itself. Ryoushi noted this information, writing it all down in her blue-covered notebook. Small drawings accompanying the notes, most notably that of poorly drawn walls and flowers of different sizes denoted how important the information was to her. She found herself fascinated with this village, the large rolling meadows and the elegant purple flowers that were grown only inside of this country's plains were fascinating. She wished to know more, all under the guise of either indifference or a blank slant plastered on her face. The chunin before her saw her as nothing more than another disinterested Genin at times, yet she knew that she was seen at least a few times with her head looking down at her small book of notes. It was meant as a keepsake more than anything, a group of journals that she would later publish or keep to herself as memories. Her eyes focused primarily on how he spoke, a small ascent tinged his throat whenever he commanded the Genin to pay attention. His voice was booming, different from the appearance he gave off. It was interesting, far too interesting now that she got to see it first hand. Yet after a few more rounds following the chunin, he nodded his head towards the group, his orange hair falling from the top of his head and almost covering his eyes. It was adorable in a strange way, yet she’d write another series of notes down marking specific landmarks that she most likely would have to see. She’d also nod towards him before tucking the brim of her straw hat down, not wishing to be seen much longer before heading out to her next series of missions. Her face remained blank, staring along the small roads with her hand placed gently on her sword's handle, still resting there, with purple eyes staring down those that she found to be interesting.
Yet she at least knew proper manners, even when her previous group didn’t know jackshit about it. Yet this next mission made her feel a slight warmth nestle up from within her stomach. She would arrive at the marked destination and find the old woman who was resting near one of the markets. Her small eyes turned upwards to see Ryoushi, the older woman who had easily mistaken her for a man. Calling Ryoushi sir as the wandering nin introduced herself. The old woman was old, wrinkles upon wrinkles lined her nearly sagging face. Her frame was frail and thin, almost like a rice cracker. It made sense why exactly she couldn’t even get groceries, much less even walk given her current condition. The older woman had some trouble seeing, Ryoushi having to act as the woman’s eyes and ears as they maneuvered around the small marketplace. She’d grab an assortment of different food items from off of the countertops and open baskets. Leaving small bits of money while trying to also keep track of the older woman. A few of the shopkeepers were pleasant enough, some giving discounts and others were kind enough to allow the older lady a few items. She was considered one of the older people within the village, someone that was around before even its true formation. Ryoushi found herself still wondering about the village leader, someone who she hadn’t heard much about. Someone who she would want to meet. The purple-eyed shinobi followed the older woman throughout the small marketplace still, keeping herself by the old woman’s side, a few bags of groceries inside of her hands. She couldn’t believe how much stuff the older woman wanted, yet it was enough. Her refined fingers allowed her to hold a bag per finger. Her extreme control over her strength was in small part due to her usage of chakra, allowing her to amplify her strength if necessary. Ryoushi kept primarily to herself still. Her appearance with the older woman had some believe that this was either an older son or a grandchild of some sort who was trying to help the old lady out. It was here that she learned that the Old woman’s name was Mikoto, an interesting name within the village. It was not the type of name she expected from an older lady, especially one as old as her. But it still was an interesting fact nonetheless. Yet she’d constantly have to refute the idea that she was related to the old woman, simply someone who was trying to help out around the community. A sentiment that they appreciated with surprising amounts of open arms. It was far different in her past life, people wouldn’t give an inch, lords of crime, and those of the wealthy would rather keep their riches at the current moment. Even her group was rather fickle when it came to most things besides money. She had been the youngest, a simple pup for them to train and have her gain strength. She had been fed and practically made to be a perfect unit for battle, someone who would be their sword and their first line of defense. Yet she had so much more she had wished to learn. History had captivated her like nothing else, and she had wished to learn. She wanted to learn about the world, how chakra had come to be, and how the Hoshimura clan was in the state that it was. The thought almost made her lose balance, dropping the bags that she was carrying with ease. But she was able to pick herself back up, helping the older lady up the small steps of her large home. The older woman motioned for Ryoushi to follow her, placing the bags near the cabinets of the kitchen. Mikoto nodded her head, turning her almost wire-shut eyes towards Ryoushi. Giving her thanks to the shinobi before bidding her a good day with the pay that she would receive.
Ryoushi’s eyes only slightly widened at the thank she had received before leaving, her hand going to lean her straw hat over her eyes, she had not been chastised for her appearance, not once within the village as of yet. Yet she didn’t know if that was always going to be the case. Her purple eyes stared down at the roads once again, knowing that she had other jobs that needed to be taken care of. Her small steps down the grey wooden stairs, the mid-day sun shining throughout the street like a spotlight. Yet she’d avoid it, aiming to sneak passed the crowds, her appearance almost blending in for a moment as she was able to maneuver around the few crowds that she had to go through. The location of her next mission was rather surprising given that it was to find a simple housecat. She had to go to one of the estates of the nobles, something that she didn’t understand, why would the noble have such trouble finding a cat in her estate? She traveled along the roads again, trekking upwards towards where it was said that the noble estates were located. Her eyes were graced with the presence of how large these estates truly were, not only that, but she was able to admire more of their architecture. The simple designs made it rather easy to see where a specific animal might go. Yet when she had found herself on the estate of the old noble lady, her estate was much more grandiose. Almost a miniature castle in size. Ryoushi only nodded her head before trekking on through the large metal doors. Her nose immediately picked up the slight scent of where the cat might have gone towards. She’d make more notes while she was walking around the estate. What texture the walls were made out of, the color of the furniture and carpets. The small chandeliers that littered the rooftops of the massive estate. It was here where she was able to find the sneaky cat swinging on one of the chandeliers, holding on for dear life. Its claws popped out in a tight embrace on one of the wax candles. Ryoushi’s legs immediately moved. Her speed surprisingly given her size, as she quickly maneuvered around, bouncing off the wall and catching the swinging cat without too much effort, landing with a small rustle on the ground. The cat held onto the purple-eyed woman as Ryoushi made her way outside of the massive mansion, offering the cat over to the noblewoman before receiving her reward. Yet this was also where she could cash in on the fourth and final mission. Her notebook allowed her to take notes on what she had learned. The people of this village were kind and accepting. They primarily grew much more humid fruits, such as Mango and even Banana. Fruits that she hadn’t even seen before. How the people interacted, and the architecture of the village astounded her to no end. It’s why, with the final stroke of her pencil, she wrote down a small mission report for the final mission, as the knowledge she had now was much more than what she had before. Through the wisdom and teachings of those around her. Yet she had so much more that she wished to see within this village. Her eyes now could finally see it, a much more guarded future. Yet only time would be able to tell.
This was the start to something very interesting within this village, she could guarantee it.
