Backstory: The Communication Board is an eerie ninja tool rooted in the darker side of Fuinjutsu. This item was created by a hidden shinobi sect that sought to bridge the gap between the living and spirit world. Long ago, it was developed during a great conflict, allowing its user to communicate with fallen comrades and gather intelligence from beyond the grave. The board is carved from wood infused with chakra-reactive ink, allowing the user to channel their chakra into various seals and symbols that give them the ability to communicate with the targeted spirit.

Trait: The Communication Board allows users to communicate with the dead once per topic. This can be another PC or an NPC the user has met. This includes apped NPCs and those used for CD. Should the user attempt to communicate with the spirit of a dead PC, the target character can post as that deceased character temporarily. If the target PC wishes to not write as that character, the item will not work and will remain inert. This cannot be used to speak with a PC who has been dead for longer than 6 months, and things cannot be taught through this kind of communication. This means you cannot be trained in skills, techs, and more when using this item. If the target is an NPC, the user can "control" it, though this will be monitored for abuse and cannot be used to transfer information. Should it be an NPC, there are no time constraints when attempting to speak with them, unlike the 6-month timer for talking with PCs. You do not need the body of the deceased person to communicate with them, you have to have met them before they passed. The communication is limited to short sentences, and is unaware of where its remains are.  This item persists for 4 posts and can only be used 3 times, but you cannot use it on the same target more than once. After this has been used 3 times, the board will ignite and turn to ash.
