Training for Team One. (Team one only)

Nero would have grabbed the pole Vretiel was holding as a matter of reflex. He would realise that the team leader has saved his life only seconds later. When he landed solid on the ground, he was shocked. "Thank you..." he could hardly say, bowing down before the 12 year old leader.

He would then suddenly calm down, after hearing Crono's joke. He would smile and answer, "Well that is a work in progress... Though I have heard of a way for a Koutaishi to fly before... Anyway, sorry for keeping you two waiting... How have you two been ? It seems we'll wait for the other kid, so we have time to talk a little, right ?".

Nero would not say much and wait for Vretiel's orders.

Vretiel would open his eye and look up at the fiasco that was about to occur. He commended Crono on trying to help the boy survive the fall. Seeing as though No action was taken by Nero to stop Crono from Helping him the actions that Crono did would work, with the two boys landing about Five feet behind the tree stump that Vretiel was leaning on, the pole being unnecessary for him to survive, but as a tool to help his comrade.

As the two were making their decent down Vretiel would stand straight and run at his passive speed around tree so that by the time the two ninja had fallen the jounin would be standing at the other side of tree stump, with his staff in hand ready to strike. While doing this he would take out two kunai and place them in his hand not wielding his Bo Staff.

The moment that the ninja landed Vretiel would begin training. Not allowing for conversation the moment they landed He would throw the two kunai, one at the chest of Crono and one at the chest of Nero. He wanted to see how they would dodge it/block it, so he threw them at a relativity slow speeds (30). If they failed to do anything the kunai would be impaled into their chests, causing massive bleeding and the need to go the hospital to survive.

As Crono decended down he spied Vretiel's movement below him, his staff positioning into a combat ready position. He wouldn't attack.... would he, unannounced? His Iaido training instincts kicking in, something wasn't right. He let Nero go the moment they touched the ground, Crono's off[right] hand retracted down toward the koiguchi[mouth] of the Saya[sheathe] attached to his right side and immediately lifted it up and to the left, causing the entire sheathe and katana to cross his body while he spun around to the left, the two kunai's deflecting harmlessly off the side of the saya.

"I guess we are starting" He stated as his right hand returned the saya back to his right side, his eyes now fixed upon Vretiel, his Left hand on the Tsuka[hilt] of his Katana. His right leg bent and behind him, his left bent towards his Sensei. His right thumb flicking the end of the Tsuka out by half an inch, making the blade battle ready, preventing any resistance to the blade should he need to suddenly draw it.

Nero would have only realised the kunai thrown at him as soon as he landed on the ground. The kunai was only a little faster than him, but it was already mid-air when Nero first reacted, so he could barely dodge the thrown weapon by bending back. (His side was facing the kunai, so that would have been enough.). Well he would have, if the other kid named Crono hadn't clashed his sword with the kunai already. "Thanks..." he would say before doing his next move.

He would jump back a few meters from the point Vretiel was standing, and he would have drawn out his katana with his right hand, and a kunai with his left. He would than smirk and talk to Crono "You are better with swords... I will try to be your aid...". His eyes would have been watching their sensei carefully as he talked loudlier for the 12 year old to hear him from that distance, "Weren't we going to wait for Habee to show up first ?".

Vretiel would be pleased with Crono's performance so far, he had done things to save Nero twice now so that he has done absolutely nothing for this entire session. Vretiel would now try to change that.

Upon seeing Crono block the two Kunai and Nero jumping back so that he was about 4 meters from Vretiel he would act. When Nero was mid jump Vretiel would use the body flicker technique, appearing 1 meter behind Nero's projected position. The blur of speed would be nearly untraceable by both Nero and Crono (as their speed/relation times would be low) that it would appear as though Vretiel had vanished and reappeared behind Nero.

By the time Nero would land Vretiel would have taken out another kunai out of his patch, throwing it a little faster than the other two previously (around 35 speed), aiming for the boys lower left shoulder blade. Failure to find a way to block or dodge the attack would lead to the kunai being impaled into his shoulder two inches, blood exploding from the wound and leaving the boy injured.

This guy was something else, quick, agile, and very.... cold. He wasn't sure what it was but something seemed a little... off about Vretiel to him. However these thoughts could wait until later, for now only one thing was clear.. in this training, Vretiel was the enemy. He was still unsure of Nero, He hadn't yet shown that he could handle himself, then again Crono was being a safety net preventing him from showing his own skills.

Crono's eyes blinked as Monkey sensei disapeared from in front of him, the rushing gust of wind in his wake gave him a reason to look behind him with just enough time to see the child pulling out another kunai. "Nero, behind you!" he would command while dashing at full speed to Nero, he would pass him on his left side while drawing his blade using his Quickdraw technique[+20 str/spd for the inital strike], aiming for Vretiel in a upward diagonal slash using his left hand. his right hand gripping his saya to follow up the initial blow with a reverse gripped slash in the same direction as the first using the sheathe. the Kunai was Nero's to avoid, he gave him proper warning, but Crono needed to see the length of how much protection Nero required compared to himself. In real battle Crono would have to know the difference between when his team needed him and when he could press the attack. This training would definatly be one of the ways to find out. "Forget Habee, focus on Sensei!" he would shout back to Nero after preforming the initial strikes.

If anything they had to put pressure on Vretiel, and if Crono was to be the vanguard to spear head the attack, so be it. Go into battle expecting death and you will live, Go into battle expecting to live and you will surely die. One strike, one kill. And while he was not truely expecting to die from this first session of training, he would not back down. He would treat Vretiel with the same ferocity as he would expect from any opponent. Never back down, never surrender, never give in, die with honor.

Nero would only be able to realise Vretiel has moved, but not what he has done, where he has gona, not even where his move was headed to. His first instinct would be looking at his comrade, and once he he was about to land, he would realise Crono looking to Nero's back with a different gesture on his face than before. Nero would have assumed that there was where Vretiel has gone to, and would turn to his back with the katana he has drawn out being held up vertically.

His reaction would have been quick enough to track the kunai, which was travelling at a greater speed than before. When he heard Crono say, "Nero, behind you !", he would have already be facing the kunai, and his already vertically-held katana would have made a swift crescent-shaped movement to redirect the kunai to Nero's right (and Vretiel's left, if he didn't move after throwing the kunai). Its direction would have been changed by 90 degrees (approximately 1,5 radians, 1/4 of a circle), so it was far from being something that the two students should have continued to worry about.

"You're not going to go that easy on us, are you, sensei ?" he would say, looking at the 12 year old, but both his mind and his body ready for an attack that will come from the Jounin. He would grin, being satisfied that their sensei was the serious type of guy, "So be it !" he would continue saying, "I'd rather die by the hands of one than be pitied by him.". Nero would then try to attack Vretiel by running towards him and sending a horizontal slash against his chest. It was a chance for Crono to follow him and decrease the distance between the "tank" (the nickname he has thought for Crono) and the target, that was their 12 year old sensei.

Vretiel was impressed to see how the two ninja had blocked the kunai coming at them, but now he was interested in just how skilled they were when a new element was put into them being thrown. In order to dodge all of the attacks coming at him Vretiel would jump back 5 meters at his top passive speed, doing so to dodge the oncoming attacks and prepare for his next one, and getting there at about the time it took the two genin to get to get to his previous location. While in mid-air he would take two more Kunai out, these ones having exploding tags placed on them, with Vretiel pouring chakra into them, preparing them for battle. HE would also infuse lightning chakra into each of them via his lightning gloves.


Vretiel would land and wait to see what his two opponents would do.

At the speed he was moving Crono's he moved with the inerta, spinning almost a full 360, stopping his slash just shy of striking his teammake. in a swift motion his saya returned to his left side and returned his blade back into it's sheath. Eyeing the two Kunai Monkey senpai removed from his pouch Crono realized this would continue to be a long distance battle. He silently cursed himself for not mastering the Do ryu sen technique, procrastinating and putting that training off for another day.

his eyes shifted from left to right, scoping the landscape. The field was quite barren, but if this sort of fight you had two priorities find cover and counter attack with your own long range attacks, or force the opponent to fight in melee range. Crono was unable to use any long range jutsu but cover, in any form, was still a high priority as it could potentially lead to forcing the opponent to fight in melee range.

An idea suddenly sparked in his head as he leaped back a few yards landing directly behind the 2nd[middle] and 1st pole[left]. They may not be much, but they would have to do for cover. he stepped behind the 1st pole. With a quick movement Crono preformed a quick draw, slashing 3 times diagonally, into the wood, slicing a 1 foot long, 4inchs deep triangular section from the side of the pole that was facing away from vretiel. before returning his sword to his sheath. Grabing the section he held it behind his back, placing it into his pouch. after quickly preforming the clone technique, 2 copies of crono stepped back out from behind the pillar. the real crono the last visible one closest to the pillar with a 3rd clone still hidden behind the pillar. He had some cover, and now he had a diversion. he hoped Nero would follow his lead.

By the time Nero arrived at Vret was (when nero first moved), the 12 year old leader of the team was already gone, 5 more emters away from the Koutaishi clan member, and his comrade. He would realise the papers bound to the kunai's Vretiel held, and immediately get suspicious, he would shout at Crono, "RUN !!!", while preparing a handsign, and using the Body Flicker Technique to get out of the range of the explosion, that he assumed to be 5m or so at least, but he traveled at least 25 meters to assure getting out of its range (if Body Flicker wouldn't have lasted long enough to transport him 25 meters, he would close the distance by running with his whole speed, which would have been enough for him to be able to get out of the range of that explosion.

Though he would still be thrown forwards (towards the exact opposite direction the explosion happened - according to Nero's point) by the wind being blown outside with the explosion. He got up from the ground, and looked around to spot Crono. Unfortunately, he would have been a little dizzy after hitting his head, and the smoke formed after the explosion wouldn't have been of any help either. To rookie to know what to do in a situation like this, he would run away from the cloud of dust, towards a location he could get a clear view of what was happening in the "battlefield".
