Terrified and guilty

Kira rushed into the office of the kage of yuki village, not bothering to even knock. She opened the door quickly to look to maku, eyes filled with fear and tears. "Maku.... Oh goddess maku I think I did a horrible thing..."

She had been taking care of a mission for her friend that involved the academy students, only she couldn't remember much of it. The boy had given her a smug condescending look and the next thing she remembered was waking up covered in someone else's blood.

Maku was enjoying a peaceful day in his office.  Gods he could get used to this, especially with his secretary Charlotte, she was busy giving him a massage while he laid on the desk, drinking a nice cold lemonade, everything was perfect. 

Then it all ended abruptly.  The door was thrown open and Kira barged in, causing Maku to fall off the desk.  Grabbing his towel, and wrapping it around him, he dismissed Charlotte, and looked at the spilled drink on his brand new polar bear rug.  Reaching behind him onto the book shelf, he threw on his shirt, and answered Kira "What are you talking about woman?"

She walked forward silently to wrap her arms around him sobbing softly unless he loved to impede, and after a few moments she had calmed down enough to speak. "You... You asked me to take care of the bully in your academy. I was there and he had hurt a poor girl and.."

As she spoke another popped his head in, this time knocking first. If Kira's back hadn't been turned away from I'm she would have noticed him immediately as the instructor of the academy she had met before the black out. " um sir sorry to bother. This woman came into my class with fiery red hair. She said something about a bulky and killed three of my students with these strange shadows and a scythe of some sort. I came to inform you as soon as I could she told me to tell you 'the problem is handled by the hells angel and you will have no more issues with bullies." He was visually shaken by the blatant murder.

So much was happening to fast, first Kira was wrapped around him, which he did not find unpleasant, but he couldn't understand a word of what she was saying.  Next one of the teachers had come into his office and said something about murders or something.

Patting Kira on the back, unsure exactly what to do to soothe her, he spoke to the teacher first.  "Duely noted Professor Tenka, please return to your lessons, I'll handle the situation from here, and see that the necessary actions happen.  You will be debriefed later today"  He would wave dismissing the teacher who would leave.  Now he placed both hands on Kira's shoulders and pushed her gently off of him.  "Kira slow down, what happened now, when did I tell you to handle a bully?"

The professor nodded, turning to head out the door and quickly vanished from sight. Kira decoupled from the man she had put off of her trust in to look up at him with tear filled eyes. "The mission... You posted a mission about bullies in your academy. I was going to handle it but things got out of hand. When I walked in one of the young konoichi was hiding behind professor tenga afraid and beaten up and four children were laughing at her. The only thing I remember after that was being back in the room you offered me and washing the blood off my hands. There was soo much blood maku." Her voice was now calm and collected, though it wavered in the after effects of fear and terrifying realization

Scratching his head, and shuffling some papers around he remembered the mission he had posted.  Bullies in the academy were getting ridiculous and causing problems.  He hated things like that, and those who needed to arm others to make themselves feel better had no rights to call themselves ninja.  It wasn't that he was against fighting and even killing, but to attack a weaker person without provocation was crossing the line.

Looking at Kira, he saw that this had upset ted her, in truth Maku really didn't care about the death of a couple bullies, though he would probably have to handle their families.  He needed the people of this vilage to be stronger, and it all started at the bottom, only strong and patriotic academy students would lead to powerful ninja.  "First off Kira, was it you or your demon that killed the students?  If it was the demon, can she talk to me through the choker like she did before?  I would like to here the whole story from her."  He would wait to see if the demon spoke if not then he would continue with Kira after the answer.

As if on wut the voice spoke into his mind at the same time the words left her lips. ~it was simple maku. We finished the mission as asked. Those little piss any kids thought it was funny so I taught them and the rest of the academy the value of kindness. Skewered the bullies friends for instigating the action and sliced off the bullies arms. We then consoled the poor girl. You shouldn't have an issue with bullies any more~

As Selene spoke in Maku's mind Kira answered, completely unaware that the mental convorsation had happened. "I...I don't know it's like I blacked out. "

Everything seemed legit to him if the demon spoke truthfully.  He really didn't see the problem, but he knew it would upset Kira.  He agreed with the demon, if the kids thought a scary shadow monster would kill them for rudeness they probably wouldn't do it anymore.

"Kira, its ok, I can't blame you for what the demon did, and besides this land is different than the others.  Only the strong survive here.  Look outside the window, if you were trapped in these blizzards death would be eminent, and worse is if you were with a team who couldn't work together.  It is unfortunate the events that have transpired, but necessary.  I don't hold you responsible, and I shoulder any back lash from these events.  I can take it."  He gave her a wink, trying to lighten the mood.  

The only thing he didn't approve of was the demon taking control of Kira's body and causing her to black out. He had assumed with all her training and vast increase in power she would be able to control the demon, but he was apparently wrong, and a bit disappointed.  He wasn't sure if it was possible to talk to the demon, but he was going to give it a shot.  Focusing on the demon, he activated the choker and tried to speak directly to her.

"Whats with you taking over her body and not letting her see, are you trying to protect her?  Because you cant forever, you two need to work together not live separability."  He fully expected to get a lecture about things he didn't understand again, but so be it.

"I...but we...." She paused for several moments trying to gather her words and thoughts through the sea of emotions that had thrust her so deeply under it's seemingly poisonous waters. After collecting her thoughts once more she stood stoic and calm. "Ok. "

~I didn't take over dear maku. She called to me. The rage she felt, the need to kill everyone in that room, to but the academy to the ground and stand alone in the ashes .... You do not understand the past. Her hurt is more then any could bear as my sorrow is stronger then one girl should hold. For the sake of her sanity I was required to switch and act in her wishes. Those thst treat others as she was.... ~ as she spoke she decided it was better to show him. Just as she offered the memories to the young konoichi she took advantage of their mental link via the choker and a scene would unfold in front of him.

The kage chambers melted away as the world almost seemed to bend to her will. They were now in konoha, maku and the demon Selene alone out at the training grounds of the ninja academy, she looked nothing like the young girl he knew. She was taller with long flowing black hair that laid across her shoulders and back unrestricted. Her face was well aged, looking to be around her thirties and her eyes were permanently stained black to resemble the running mascara of a crying woman, though it was clear this wasn't a miscalculation in make up but a permanent tatoo, across her arm, just below where it joined into her shoulder was a large black scar in the shale of an 's' with a line stricken through at an angle that came barely an inch from meeting the points of the letter before stopping and punctuated quite literally with a single period that set in the circular curves of the letter on each side. Below it were two long lines that ran parallel at an angle beginning and ending at the top and bottom of the symbol. She was clothed in a long black satin dress thst clung tightly to her body until it met her hips to flow freely out across her legs with a single slit on each side that ran up to her calves.

"Welcome to my existence maku. Welcome to the sorrow of humanity."

Looking around, he took in the vision that was shown to him.  An interesting power indeed.  As a master of genjutsu he could appreciate powers like this, though he doubted this was a simple illusion, but instead more like a film, that he was now allowed to view.  Looking around, he recognized vaguely Konoha.  He had been there for a brief time, but he knew it when he saw it. 

So this was Selene, the demon of Kira's mind.  What was he to do with her, and what did she have to show him.  Placing both hands in his pocket, he looked the demon in the eyes.  Maku didn't fear her like some may have.  He believed in fate and faith above all other things.  He knew he was fated for many more things, and had faith it would happen, things like fear only got in the way so he had long since banished these thoughts.  Even when he stood in front of the Hokage who initially meant to burn him and Youka alive, he had not been afraid, for he knew fate would keep him safe.

"What have you to show me Selene, I am most intrigued to say the least."  He would say smiling at her, he was glad to finally meet her in the flesh, well weird vision flesh anyway.
