A Flame Amidst A Frozen Heart!

The winds of Yukigakure no Sato had blown hard and cold about mid-day. Daiyuki along with Shiroi his wolf ninken sat atop the entrance to the village, everything about this moment was special in its own way.  The winds of this place had never ceased to amaze the boy. The currents that rolled across the tundra and into the entrance of the village were his favorite, the wind itself remained Daiyuki of the times he had spent in the wilderness of the desolate landscape.
 
Sequentially having the winds of tundra blow through the village reminding him of its environment also remained him of his parents and the death.  In a instance the rush of emotion seemed to overwhelm him, it caused him to clench his fist so hard it began to draw blood from his hand. In addition to all of this Daiyuki had looked up to the sky, he then inhaled big and gave a raspy desperate howl as if to say, “Give me back my parents.” 
 
He sat there somberly and pondered seriously disobeying Maku the village’s leader and also his “pack” leader by leaving the village unannounced. He so desperately wanted to seek out the Uchiha member responsible for the death of his mother and father.

Kanae woke up. Aw, she had fallen asleep on the sofa in the training building again, after training there for most of the night, as she often did whenever she had her nightmare. This time around, there weren't random appearances of marauding ninja at the end, but it still held the same terror for her every time. She sighed, noticing that she was dressed only in her nightgown. Thank goodness the trips to and from the training center were short.

Getting up, she walked outside, barely feeling the compact snow on her bare feet. What she did feel, however, was the wind. Ugh, it was tough today. She struggled through the wind, when she heard a strange howl. It sounded like a wolf's howl, but what kind of wolf lived peacefully in a ninja village? She hurried toward its source. 

Oh.... it was that wolf boy, Daiyuki. He seemed resentful... no, frustrated about something. Had the other kids been teasing him, or was it something deeper. Normally, Kanae would have just hidden behind a building and waited for him to leave, but he had accepted her petal, and had made a pact with her. Oh, what should she do?? 

Finally making up her mind, she approached him from the side, as the wind lulled slightly, to the point where he would be able to hear her voice. "D-daiyuki-kun.... what are you doing here?"

So much red blood… burnt flesh…two human charred bodies beyond recognition that had to have been to set a blaze by great power, Daiyuki had been lost in thought remembering the gory details of his parents murder thus causing him to turn in a blind fit of rage address the calling of his  name.
 
Looking down to notice it was Kanae, his anger seemed to  kindle in fact almost vanish or become non exist. He noticed the girl then her attire and the fact she was barefoot he assumed she’d just woken up. It almost made him mad  all over again she had come out like this. Daiyuki signaled to Shiroi in almost a smug show of dominance to retrieve the girl and bring her up to him so he could enjoy her precious scent once again. 
 

The wolf would oblige jumping down the would come face to face with the girl only to bow and allow her to mount.. Being as the girl was small, Shiroi being fairly quite larger than a normal would be able to accommodate her size if she was to accept the ride.

Shivering with the wind, Kanae was suddenly surprised by the sheer rage on the boy's face, which quickly evaporated when he saw her. Did she calm him that much, or was it merely a facade? She didn't know what kind of primal fury lay in the boy's heart, but she wanted to help him very badly. Clambering onto the wolf's back, she wondered if the wolf was there on Daiyuki's orders.  It definitely seemed to be a wild wolf (not a tamed one), even though it was several sizes larger than your average canine. But most of all, she wondered why Daiyuki was out here, alone.

The wolf had brought the girl up to the top of the pillar with sheer ease. Shiroi was a strong wolf and she also happen to be different from other wolves if she stood on her back two legs she was easily more than 5ft, even though weighing 145 pounds Shiroi was  far more slender then the rest of the wolves in the pack Daiyuki had ran with in the wild she was indeed the fastest and most agile.
 
 
Daiyuki had loved the wilderness so much that being in it seemed not to affect him anymore. He could see that wasn’t the case with Kanae. How was she shivering? It seemed unnatural to Daiyuki that a ninja in Yukikagure no Soto was actually affected by its harsh environment, maybe his assumption of her being actually from this place was completely wrong. “Kanae you ever wish you could see past the blanket of snow that covers this place?” He would ask the girl. “I’ve known this place all of my life, this cruel habitat and its animals loved me after the lands people disowned me.” He said eyeing the girl subtly noticing off and on her shiver and the fact she was in a nightgown.
 
Her figure was fragile, it would probably break under the weight of arms had he placed them around her but nonetheless it would happen. He needed her to be closer, her scent closer everything about to be closer and maybe just maybe he would know the warmth of a human. Maybe she would feel better in the 5'11 frame of his body and all of 185 pound caressing her fragile body into his. How would she react they barley known each other. Why was she special to him? Maybe she was a possession or a treasure that the animalistic instinct of Daiyuki was to dominate. He didn't know, all he know was that she was shivering and it was making him mad. 
 

“What has this cruel environment got to offer, that the people in the village don’t seem to have?” he asked the girl peering into her eyes awaiting any slight change if it was to occur.

Kanae found herself sitting next to Daiyuki, his arm wrapped around her. It was slightly heavy, but comfortable, as his body heat radiated into her. Ooh.... Kanae looked out onto the plain, in order to avoid looking into the boy's intense eyes. She was slightly nervous, not because she was afraid of the boy. For some reason, she felt that he wasn't like the other men she had been with, because he was different from everyone else, just like her. She felt nervous because.... well, he seemed really interested in her, and she in him. She just didn't know how to handle the situation. Well, small talk would work, she supposed.

"Well... as t-to your first question, I g-guess.... I've never needed to. A person can find wonders far more b-beautiful than the outside world by looking into the hearts of people." Whether it was in the aspiring hearts of shinobi, the devious hearts of criminals, or the benevolent heart of a silly leader, people were imperfect, but interesting all at once.

"But the snowy outside... it gives death. I've seen it.... a white snake died out there." She remembered the day before she was rescued from her hell.... she had watched the white snake as it died. The thought of it made her shiver, and she snuggled deeper into the boy, finding comfort in his warmth.

Daiyuki had liked everything about Kanae, except her timid attitude. He had seen her hidden strength that day in the academy courtyard it had manifested only for a second but her scent had changed that he remembered fairly well.  It had stung his noise sharply, the memory of the scent him to squeeze her a little tighter just get a big whiff of the ever pleasant aroma she had now. “Where did you from?” He asked confused by her answer. “The snowy outside had given me life for where as a human had taken life from me” He said squeezing a tad bit close to allow her air to become his air.
 
Joy was something Daiyuki didn’t know in fact he was often teased as being a buzz kill or someone unfit to walk the path of a ninja. “How can we fix the wilderness if we seize to abandon the common principle it has to offer, Only the strong survive” he said convinced her aroma was not glued to him. 
 
He wondered about Kira and Maku were they enemies despite being told they’re friends he couldn’t quite help thinking who exactly was this girl he was holding and why his heart and body felt warm against

Kira felt the boy squeezing her slightly, which somehow didn't make her feel uncomfortable. She supposed that being in such close proximity to a social outcast as opposed to doing the same thing with normal people gave her a feel of comradeship. Besides, this boy was in need of friends. So why not give him a chance? It wasn't likely, judging from previous interactions, that he would assault her. And this kind of interaction was the most direct way to viewing his heart, and to know if she could trust him. She leaned her tired head against him and closed her eyes. 

"The "law of the jungle", or more simply stated, "might makes right". That may be true for most of the ninja world.... but Daiyuki-kun..." She paused here to look up at Daiyuki, overcoming her timidity for a moment. "I'm not strong.... and I'm still here." She gently touched his hand, blushing slightly, but she didn't care if he noticed. "Daiyuki-kun.... are you sure you want to see where I'm coming from? I need to know... if you want to know about me."

His heart had begun to race. All of this was happening to fast. It was first time in a long time Daiyuki had felt something like this and it was the first time someone had been this close to him yet so far away at the same time.  He had felt hot but what could he attribute the sensation too? Its like he was lost in this moment and everything that was happening was so new to him.
 
 Looking into her eyes dulled his other senses except his touch; He didn’t care where it would lead him. “Yes… I want to know you, all of you.” Daiyuki said as his breath had begun to become shallow.” “My story is simple, my parents left me in the wilderness as they went on scouting missions, one day they didn’t return. I want to your story.. I want to know your story.” Daiyuki said as he tried not to blink for fear he would wake up from this dreamlike moment
 
Do animals even feel passion? Why had he not looked away? How could he even feel this way with the beast of the wild lurking within him? All of Daiyuki’s thought had seized for this very moment he anticipated the girl’s response. What would she tell him, how would they come to know each other?

Kanae held his hand tightly, beginning to knead chakra. "All right, Daiyuki..... I'll show you." He had given her permission, and how she could show him her memories. In a moment, they would be whisked away to a her past, where they could talk about what had happened to her. "I was, I guess you could say a happy child." The memories showed her, with her mother and father, in their living room. "But then.... things changed." A couple of images flashed.... a crying Kanae, and her father's funeral. Her voice grew more sad, more afraid. "Then HE came." Her stepfather, coming through the door with her mother that morning, and smiling at her. She didn't know anything was wrong until later that week, when he ordered her into his room. The memories swept through this part, as her stepfather threw her around his room, and then seized her shoulders, and-

"This is why I'm so scared of everything I guess... it all started here." The images changed to the immediate aftermath, with her being on the ground, bleeding, and silently weeping. It then switched to the gang, invading the house, killing her parents and then taking her. "They did worse things to me then my stepfather. And I couldn't do anything about it." Then, the image changed, to the small white snake outside the bar. The snake that had given her hope for the next day. Finally, the memories dissolved, returning the two to the top of the village entrance. She looked up at him, her eyes filling with tears. "I was weak, Daiyuki, but I'm here. I'm alive."
