A Flame Amidst A Frozen Heart!

Kira walked the walls slowly as she had so many times, night and day. It had become a habit since she took on the task in Iwakagure in order to assist and help echo for her to patrol the gates and make sure no one attempted entry without permission and that nothing dangerous tested their walls. She was at the far end, walking slowly for about twenty minutes before she stopped to look over the edge. 

  "It's....beatuiful. The soft white..." her words were like a whisper taken upon the wind and snow to be gone forever to any but herself. As she stook she continued, now less then fifty meters from the gates when her infared vision noticed something. There, seemingly attop the gates were two figures. She would be hidden from any but the keenest of sight from her distance, unless of course she was being actively searched for, and thankfully the suit pulsing with her chakra hid her scent and chakra signature. Her Infared eyes watched from the distance through the slits of her opaque white anbu like mask which hid her features from onlookers behind the brilliant symbol of a blue raven. She wasn't sure who exactly they were and she wouldn't yet approach. If there was trouble Maku would be there in less then a second anyway. Now all she would do is wait.

A rush of images had begun to surround them each reveling a particular time in Kanae’s life. Daiyuki held her close; Genjutsu was the one thing he feared more than death. In the first image he had saw her happiness it was time he had envied, His parents were hard on him and always leaving but he understood this as their way of showing affection.  The next image was troubling yet it was something he knew all too familiar; death often comes and leaves with no any sign. Things got worse as the entry of another male entered the vision, Daiyuki would see the man toss his Kanae around.
 
 He looked away for just a second just as he did the image would change. The gang entered and the acts they committed were atrocious, the abuse in this image seemed to linger longer than the rest. One man then the next, soon Daiyuki had seize to even hear Kanae scream. These men were animals of a different nature and caliber yet for some reason Daiyuki felt something similar with in himself those thoughts vanished to the back of his mind quickly.  
 
The next image came forward; it was rather strange he had seen a snake then days of happiness. What had the snake done for Kanae or rather what had it done to Kanae? The visions would dissolve; the scenery would change back to normal.
 
Daiyuki looked into her tear-filled eyes, “you have survived in a jungle of your own.” He said leaning in close the gap between their faces. “There is something in my that is similar to a beast I can not promise it wont hurt you but I’m certain that this human heart of mine is finally warm and beating because of you” He said peering into her eyes.
 

 In his mind he was already kissing her and caressing her soft skin but in actuality his face was so close that there noses touched.

As he moved closer to her, she felt her body become hot, and her breathing become shallow and quick. She didn't know how she felt about Daiyuki. Realizing that the situation and their social status played a lot in what was happening, she didn't know. She loved him for what he was, a boy who had been rejected like her, but yet was entirely different from her. Yet at the same time, she was afraid. Never in her life had she felt this way about any male, and she was a little scared about what that meant. Then she remembered what the kind people around her expected: to overcome what she was afraid of. She had been hiding from everything this whole time.... it was in this moment that she had to let go. As they came together and their noses touched, she tilted her head and moved forward, and gently kissed him, brushing her lips against his. 

At that moment, the sheer emotion overwhelmed her. They had only met a few days ago, but their traumatic pasts and current life as ninja had brought them together. And now.... Kanae was saved. From her fears, from the darkness stored up inside her; it all came pouring out now, in tears as she cried into Daiyuki's chest. She cried aloud now, something she hadn't done since before her stepfather, years ago.

As their lips touched a slight jolt of electricity passed from Kanae to Daiyuki. This passion, where had it come from? Was it from two humans who longed for a reason to continue or was it from a common darker beast within the two individuals the lusted for companionship? Nevertheless it was here and now the two had found themselves, in a moment not clouded by the pain they were used to. “If we are to control these beast within us, let us do it together but if we decide to let them overtake us let it be together with a lust for blood that cannot be quenched.” Daiyuki said holding her.
 
He desperately did not want to return to the village, that idea faded as he looked down to his right hand and saw the scar. The self-mutilation was his pact and sign of undying loyalty to Yukigakure no Soto’s leader Maku. It was a sign that kept him bound to the village and the only way he would ever be unbound if he himself had become strong enough to kill the current pack leader.
 
 

“Let’s return to the village.” I’m sure Kira is looking for you and Maku definitely has tabs on me” He said to the girl unaware of their little visitor.

Kanae nodded. "Alright." She saw him gaze at his hand, and saw the scar. Did it have some kind of significance? She wondered where he had acquired such a thing. Quickly, she grasped that hand in hers, and looked up at Daiyuki. "Come on, I'll show you where I live." She pulled him down off the entrance and onto the ground, smiling slightly.

Kira bad moved closer as the two had come together, her keep eyes observing the situation once she was within range, silently and seeming to still be unnoticed. If they turned to leave she would go back to her patrols, satisfied that it was just two of their genin off doing whatever.

“Yes show me,” He said clutching the girl’s frail hand

This feeling was new, but they were a team. A team that would eventually soon be comprised of another genin. How would this new relationship fair with the addition of another? It wasn’t something Daiyuki worried about as he and Kanae left. However what he did think about was an Uchiha he’d seen in his mind while daydreaming before Kanae had arrived.

Kanae led him gently through a few side streets until they came to a small four-room house. "Well, this is where we part ways. Good night, Daiyuki-kun." She smiled at him shyly, letting go of his hand. Feeling so warm inside made the cold of the snow under her feet less drastic. "M-maybe I.... could see you tomorrow?"

The time had come for the two of them to depart; Kanae had led Daiyuki to a house it was at the doorway they peered into each other’s eyes.  As she let go of his hand the heat from her touch lingered just a few seconds, was this a sign of their inevitable future? A heat that never seemed to last or was he just overthinking it.  “I’d like that a lot” As he leaned down to kiss the top of her forhead. “Goodnight” he said walking away. 
 
 

Daiyuki walked away in away rather quickly because of an urge that arose as he leaned to kiss her goodnight.  He would not impose his will upon her body especially after the images he’d been shown of her abuse but he couldn’t shake the idea of what the heat of their bodies would be like as they laid together.

Kanae smiled gently, and walked inside, slipping silently into bed. Daiyuki.... she hoped to see him again. Hopefully, they would become more than just good training partners. The nightmare did not come that night, nor would it come for a long time.
