[...Okay. There are a few things that you should learn from this round. First and the most important - timing. You need to set a relation of your actions to something else that is happening, state when you do things, just providing speed is not enough. That is important for both the defense and offense, poorly timed or not timed defensive actions can miss their marks and be manipulated to go off too late, or too soon. And poorly timed attacks can give the opponent plenty of time to prepare, or even counter you with an attack of their own. You can also apply pressure on your opponent by by timing your attacks with their actions, giving them little time to respond, of course it needs to be kept realistic, you can't do a backflip, perform 54 handseals, pray to the lord and fire off a meteor that lands all at 20 speed while your opponent manages to take a single step with 30 speed.

Another thing of importance, I believe Mitako already knows this to an extent. You need to be specific with your attacks, detail exactly where you aim it, where it would land. If you don't then your opponent can choose where it would hit, allowing them easy dodges, such as tilting their head, or moving their hand, if you say you send an attack towards them, it can be manipulated to miss, because towards is not a specific direction or angle. And worse, if you don't detail say the direction in which your attack is sent, it could go off anywhere. Such as your ally, for example.

And lastly, don't bring in calculations into your IC post. I find it bringing stats into IC somewhat silly as well, but people seem to do it. Just don't bring in calculations. You can do it in the brackets at the end of the post.]

Youta's hit appeared to make Jason collapse and hit the ground. Although he had strong chakra and impressive speed for his rank, the boy's big frame lacked the expected constitution and strength. As he was on the ground, Youta would watch his teammate making a circle before shouting something at his fellow genin, which appeared to fall on deaf ears, before coming at her with a katana. Being a blade user, the sight of this amused Youta. She would assume a more fitting stance, her feet gaining some distance, her frame bending somewhat with her face slightly moving forward like an owl that noticed a mice and was preparing for a leap. Her ninjato would be held in her left hand in front of her while her right hand would be withdrawn to her side where it would acquire a kunai and rise to her shoulder height, the blade pointed at the coming Genin.

As Mitako performed his horizontal swing, the Chuunin would bring the ninjato forward to lock the blade before it could hit her. Subsequently, because of her stance and the height at which the blades clashed Mitako's kick would be stopped by his own katana which obstructed the path of his leg. Right about then Youta would notice Jason standing up, backing up a little and then throwing a pair of shuriken in her direction. It was actually pretty bad, because Mitako's back was turned at Jason. And the boy was probably glad that his teammate did not aim well enough and the blades flew by harmlessly, instead of finding their way into the Genin's back.
With his sword locked by Youta's ninjato, Mitako was now somewhat open. That was the issue of using a sword, instead of a dagger or two. Using this moment the girl would swing the kunai at the adequate speed at which the boy swung his blade, aiming a slash at his left shoulder, hopefully forcing him back and out of the close quarters where she could tear him apart and was somewhat tempted to do.

Poor little Mitako couldn't get a hit in, and as he watched two shuriken fly past the two, he jumped a bit. What was Jason trying to do? Anyways that didn't matter as Youta was already swinging a kunai his way and he was just barely able to get away by twisting his body backward and back peddling a bit, being left with the smallest scratch on his shoulder, and a small tear in his clothing. As the boy stumbled backward and out of arm's reach he got the impression that he could do nothing to Youta, at least not without some form of major help. He was pretty sure Youta could just glance at a Bijuu and make it have second thoughts, and lucky for him that this was just a test. Unless Jason had a brilliant plan, this was likely the last attempt he would make. Until something happened, he would take defensive stance as continued walking backwards.

Jason planned quickly and made handseals for the lightning beast running technique, and sent out a lightning shaped dog, that ran towards Youta and, to be honest, was Jason's first time he ever used this technique. he wasn't sure what was gonna happen. to be honest, Jason hadn't practiced this technique, so he had hoped that the beast would run towards Youta, and not Mitako. if the beast had run up to Youta and attacked her, then this would make her shocked, literally. if it had attacked Mitako instead, then Jason would quickly dissipate it, if he could. if he couldn't, then he had to wait until the lightning beast had done it's attack on mitako, if it had attacked him. if it had attacked Youta, and shocked her, then she'd be stunned, though not for long. had this happened, then Jason would take out a kunai and aimed at Youta's ankle and threw it. if it had hit, then this would leave Youta exceptionally stunned, and it would hurt. if she had dodged and the kunai hit Mitako instead, then Jason had hoped that Mitako would dodge in time, as, as Jason could see it, was standing in a position that he could see Jason behind Youta, so that he could see what Jason was doing. if Mitako could dodge in time, then Jason had hoped that the kunai hit Youta at her ankle. if she had used a substitution, then Jason would bring his arms up, like a boxer, to shield his face. Jason would now see what would happen.

[You don't need to state what happens if you hit a friend. All you need to do is aim your attack where you want it to hit and if your opponent somehow manages to redirect it, then treat it like their attack. Also lightning beast running is a controlled technique, which means you have a realtime control over the beast unlike a shuriken that goes in a straight line once its thrown.]

It would seem that Mitako was lucky enough to back in time, managing to get away with only a small scratch on his shoulder. Youta did not want to let him go just yet, she was quite enjoying someone trying to beat her in a blade fight, but her attention was captured by Jason building up chakra for another big move. This time instead of clones a lightning would emerge from his hand, forming into some sort of canine-looking frame and then shooting for the girl. Somewhere in the back of her mind she would briefly wonder how a genin knew such high level techniques. But the problem at hand was that she had no solid answer to it, unlike the clones she could not use the Genjutsu to dispel this, not to mention that she would not risk using it again as there was a very good chance that the boys would not survive the strain again. So, as the lightning creation was coming rather fast the girl would trust in her element of wind, as it had an advantage over lightning. Coating the ninjato in the element of her first nature she would swing it at the beast as it came close, carving it in half. She would not stick around to see if that would dispel the technique though. With both blades in her hands she would use her Twin Lotus style to perform an instant body flicker, avoiding if anything remained of the beast and appearing right between Mitako and Jason, about 3 meters from each. As she did a wild blast of wind would come from her, most probably knocking anyone within 5 meters off their feet. Then she would move her arms imitating throwing her weapons at the boys, provided that the blast knocked them off. "I think we can stop here. I can say that I am impressed with your jutsus, Jason and with your guts, Mitako. Keep training and you will become fine shinobi. Got any questions for me?"

In another flash of events, Youta had managed to throw him around in the same manner that a dog may its toy. This time, it wasn't accompanied by that horrid illusion, but he was still left flat on his ass. For now he would accept this defeat, as Youta could have made it much worse. "Thanks? I guess." His words came out uninspired and lazy as usual, but he had a feeling that something was going to change the way he looked at the world. He couldnt quite put his finger on what it was though.  

He stared across from where he was now, giving the muffins a sort of look that said, "This is your fault." Why he was telepathically communicating with muffins? I'm not sure, let's move on. He would bring himself up off the ground and hold his arm, the small scratch had a sting to it. Looking to Youta, (if Jason had given up too, that is.) he would ask "How did you get so fast?"

[Sorry for teh shortness, I've hit a major block on pretty much all aspects of thinking. Kind of like writers block, but like, even for the ability to cook stuff in the microwave. Somebody halp! :|]

Jason smiled and gave thumbs up. Jason decided to ask her a question. "uh yeah, when are we gonna do high ranked missions?" Jason was eager to do a high ranked mission. sure, it'd mean that his life would be in more danger than it already is, but eh, high risk high reward. Jason stretched his arms and legs and loud popping noises could be heard. lastly, Jason cracked his neck and a loud cracking noise was heard and Jason exhaled in relief. "so, what do we do now? go home to our parents? or what?" Jason asked, as he was eager to go home. though, the question was more that he was asking himself if he has the stamina to do some more training or not. that in itself was something that Jason had to work on.

[Keep in mind this is supposedly happening before our first missions.]

Youta would smirk slightly at Mitako "It's a rather basic technique called Body Flicker. A genin should try to learn it.", then respond to Jason. "Who would entrust Genins with high ranked missions right off the bat? Don't worry, you will get there quite fast if you keep up the good work, but we will start small. I shall find us some easy missions to begin with and then we will climb from there, if I see you doing well with them." Youta would explain to him, then sheathe her ninjato and hide the kunai before turning around and starting to walk away. "If that's all, then we are done for today. Get rested and stay ready, I will send you the mission details soon." As she left, her mind would find its way to the girl who failed to come to the exercise. She will have to find a way to punish her, while not harming her too much. Maybe a private training session where Youta could go a bit more rough on her. Maybe.

When she got home the Chuunin would take off her gear, putting most of it in her room. She would walk outside into her garden where she would find Cael looking at the sky. He looked quite lonely in this world of humans. There were only others like him that she knew of, Noctis a black dragon that belonged to Haru, her sensei. Tenebris was a hot one that belonged to Altar and Lux belonged to Sayuri, who was her teammate, but had disappeared somewhere, Youta had not seen her or her dragon in a while. There was also another dragon that belonged to Keisuke, but she did not even know its name. It was strange to remember the team that she was in and how it fell apart. She wondered if the girl disappearing today indicated that this team would suffer the same fate. Youta would frown a bit as she considered what kind of sensei it would make her if she allowed her team to fall apart like the other one did, then she would put her gaze back into the book.

Mitako made a mental note of Youta's words. He would put him self to work right away learning the technique, it was one he had heard of before, and one that was rather common among those he knew. Perhaps he would find someone to teach it to him. He was excited for the missions, though he had a feeling it would only be him and Jason. Unsure of why exactly he thought that, he bid the other two fare well, "Let's do this again later, hopefully Hino can make her way here next time." He feared for the girls as Youta was likely send some wrath her way. 

Later on in the day, he would find himself off in the plains, working hard at learning the body flicker technique with or without a friend.

Jason nodded and reflected on what he has learned today in this training session. Jason made multiple mental notes on what works and what doesn't, when to attack and when to dodge, how to use the correct jutsu and when. though it's more like, when to use a jutsu, and the timing of it, as well as taking advantage of any distractions. As he walked back home, he began to think of what to do when he trains. since he'll need to boost his strength, Jason thought that he could train at the plains later or so, though since he was gonna do missions, he had to put that aside to focus on doing missions. Jason began to think of what he should specialize in as a second specialty. maybe something to do with footwork and hand-to-hand combat. or maybe something to do with weapons. Jason wasn't sure, so this was something he had to think of carefully, and think up of good combinations.
