“The part that bugs me the most about all this, is that the civilians often take us for granted, even though we originate from among their own. It is almost as if we do not exist, they take so little notice of us. I wonder what if the Samurai have the same things to deal with.”

Draconis spoke crisply, as he continued to make his chakra cloak bigger. It was beginning to form the makings of a complete one, similar to the Wind Glaive technique, but different in nature, fundamentally.

Salzem nodded.

"And understandable feeling. However, that is part of the job. If protectors stay around too long, the civilians start to get soft. When the civilians get soft, they start to get comfortable. When they get comfortable, the start to forget they have protectors. When they start to forget they have protectors, well, they forget how dangerous the world really is." Salzem sighed, flipping another rock in between his knuckles absently as he spoke.

"And look at us. Mere children armed to the teeth with swords, daggers and jutsu, protecting grown adults which could've done this job." Salzem looked up from the rock he was flipping and back at Draconis. "The positions should be reversed."

“Yeah. They should have to do basic training or something, most of them can’t even throw a punch properly. Means they are huge liabilities if the place is invaded.” Draconis thought quietly about this issue, but there was not much else he could do about it.

Focusing, he tried flexing the chakra that he had been using to cloak his body, the chakra responding almost like water, some thing else he wanted to acquire. Unfortunately he did not know yet whether he was predisposed to the water element or not, yet, so he was going to have to work on that as well later. For now though he tried to focus on the chakra cloak, making it more thick and substantial. Eventually he would be able to do more with it but unfortunately due to the lack of training. Still though, the training seemed like it was starting to help.

“Could you throw that rock at this cloak real quick?” Draconis asked. “I want to test its strength.”

He began concentrating the chakra more, aware that Salzem could potentially hit hard, presumably he could also throw really well also but who knows really, since any thing could happen, since for now he was not going to move when the rock flew at him assuming Salzem threw it in the first place. Later he would work on the spin part without falling over, since that was needed to be able to deflect a lot of missiles, like dangerous flying rocks.

Salzem looked down at the rock in his hands.

"Oh, yeah sure." He was barely aware it was there and would probably wouldn't have noticed without Draconis pointing it out. Salzem threw the rock (Speed 70) aiming for somewhere around Draconis's chest/neck area. He wondered what the purpose would be. Perhaps to test the strength of his shield?

Seemed like the chakra cloak was a surprise to Salzem. This obviously was not a good thing at all. The cloak should have been plenty obvious to Salzem so if he did not really notice it that was bad because that meant that Draconis had done a rather poor job of trying to make a chakra cloak in the first place since the Hyuga stuff was generally supposed to be blue if it was not visible that meant that Draconis was probably not putting enough into all of this. Infuriated, he began concentrating further, only to be concentrated in being disrupted when Salzem threw the rock as Draconis had requested. The rock sped towards Draconis, who instinctively brought up his hand to block. The rock never touched his hand though, he could feel the chakra pushing against the rock, slowly slowing down the rock and draining away its momentum, until the rock stopped, a millimeter or two away from touching his hand, and dropped to the ground. Draconis quirked an eye brow.

“At once both better and worse than I expected.”

“Looks like I need to take a short break. What do you think? Wanna go on a mission?”

Draconis glanced at Salzem to catch his reaction.

Salzem cocked an eyebrow as the rock he had tossed had been deflected off Draconis's chakra cloak. Well, deflected wasn't the right term. It was as if the Chakra disrupted the momentum, draining it away as if it were traveling through a sea of syrup before coming to a complete stop and hitting the dirt ground with a "thud" At Draconis's suggestion, Salzem shrugged. He could use the money.

"Sure. I'll meet you out by the mission center in, say, half an hour?." With that, Salzem would head back home to get a couple minutes of rest.

Looked like Draconis was not the only one who wanted a break of sorts. Salzem wandered off, and it seemed like they were to meet at the mission center. Draconis also wandered off too, to get a snack since he was beginning to feel too hungry to be any good. As he did such he analyzed what he had seen with the rock Salzem had thrown. He needed to put more into the chakra of course, but he was getting there. If he added a bit of motion now he might actually be able to do some thing like similar to what the jutsu thing was supposed to do though why it had to be a spin it self he was frankly not very sure. Bending down, he picked up a rock and tossed it in to the air, and watched it fly upwards, before descending straight at him. Activating the chakra cloak again, he blocked the stone with two fingers, leaving a gap so he could see how far the stone got. This time, the stone landed with a thud on the outstretched fingers and stopped moving entirely. That was looking better now. Gently lowering his hand so that the stone was not disturbed, he looked at it directly since using the Byakugan might have given him a skewed view. Slowly the part of his hand, more specifically, the fingers, that the rock had landed on, came slowly into view, and he was able to see that the chakra had stopped it much closer to the surface of the outer layer than the last time, which was quite good.

Checking he had all his stuff, he tossed the rock on to the ground, watching it roll away, before walking off. Time to get him self some burgers or some thing because this dude was starting to get mighty hungry over there and he was just waiting to get all this training over with.
