The girl's reaction was not what Jin had hoped for as she just shrugged and told him she'd teach him once she learned how to undo seals herself. "Ah, of course." the blonde haired Yamanaka replied and turned to look back at his bowl with the intention of eating, having completely forgot he had already finished it. His blunder was most likely the product of being embarrassed at how he had been so easily dismissed. Then again, he had never been very smooth with the ladies (or anyone, for that matter), despite his natural ability to attract them. A gift and a curse, really. Risako's words snapped him out of his introspective mental rants as she bid him a farewell. He looked up at her with his icy blue eyes, slightly befuddled as she patted him on the back - a sign that she felt some level of comfort with him, or that maybe she was just a very outgoing and friendly girl. How naive Jin was to fall for such a basic and minor distraction. His senses registered her pushing her own bowl towards his empty one, but he didn't connect the dots. Jin's sister would be ashamed, after drilling the concept of distraction and theatricality into him many times over. "Yeah, I'd like that. Take care of yourself, now. I guess if I hear any explosions around the village I'll know where to find you." Jin answered when Risako said she'd see him around, figuratively, not literally. He watched her walk away innocently, and right before she turned around, the light bulb lit up in his head. The girl playfully shouted that she owed him some money before running away. Jin had a feeling he'd never see that money again. "I don't believe, she's actually going to dine and dash like that...?" Jin muttered to himself, watching slack jawed as the girl escape into the night, and he had a right mind to chase after her. He slowly pivoted his head to peek over his shoulder. Mere inches away from his own face was the master noodle chef, leaning over the counter and staring Jin dead in the eye. "You're going to pay for these, right?" the old man asked with the dead voice of a shadowy revenant returned from the land of the unliving to rip Jin's soul from his mangled carcass. Jin took a hard gulp, feeling like he was standing in the shadow of something so colossal he could not take in the entirety of its size. "Uh, how's my tab doing?" the blonde haired Yamanaka asked, being dead broke. He didn't really have a plan to pay for his own two bowls, now there was a third. Two, he felt he could get away with, but three was the magic number and now he was faced with two options. Should he run for his life in the same direction as Risako, even though she was probably long gone by now, or should he stand and fight. Judging by the expression on the chef's face, Jin's tab was probably putting the man out of business. The blonde haired boy went to open his mouth again but was cut off by the geezer grabbing Jin's collar with frightening speed and ripping him over the counter. "What's the idea, here!? Have you lost it, old timer!?" Jin cried as he felt himself being jerked around like a ragdoll while some of the customers watched in unease, and some others just didn't give a shit. "There! Now, you'll work for what you've eaten!" the noodle master decreed, aggressively releasing Jin. The young Yamanaka looked down at himself and noticed he was now garbed in a filthy apron and also coincidentally standing by the sink which was stuffed with at the very least twenty nine years worth of unspeakably dirty dishes and kitchen ware. "Like he'll I will! I have my first team meeting tomorrow morning, there's no way I'll make it if I have to do all this! The only thing I will have time to make is my own funeral after I die from over working and old age, you crazy bastard!" Jin had done it now, the master was so visibly infuriated everyone still watching was half expecting smoke to start coming out of his nostrils and ears. Knowing his space like the back of his hand, the noodle God reached out and drew a long wooden spoon without ever breaking the death glare he had locked onto Jin. "Then you will pay in blood, boy." the chef said, slowly getting into some kind of martial art stance that would look more fitting with a Chinese broadsword instead of a wooden kitchen utensil. Panicked, Jin looked around for anything he could arm himself with and frantically clutched a large stirring spoon of his own from the hellish pit of dirty dishes in the sink. Instinctively, due to his profuse amount of training, he got into the signature sheathed katana wielding stance. Neither of them were aware, but the surrounding ramen eaters had begun to cheer savagely. With the roar of a thousand young men charging into battle, the old noodle master lunged for Jin. The blonde haired boy flared up with a battle cry of his own as he took one calculated step forward. Spoon met spoon with a deafening slap sound, and a shower of splinters stabbed into the cloth roof. Jin was already back in his sheathed stance, most of the onlookers not even sure if he had ever swung, but the severed spoon head spinning in the air was more than enough evidence. The old man's eyes tracked in disbelief the floating piece of now broken kitchen equipment. Jin's face lit up when he noticed the opening, and quickly threw his spoon at the ramen lord's face. He grunted, more so in shock than in pain as the spoon collided with his face and stuck there. By the time he opened his eyes, Jin was already rolling over the counter. "Get back here, you ungrateful son of a bitch!" the old man shouted as Jin began running down the street with a limp. "I'll pay you back the next time I see you, I swea--!" Jin began, but was cut off when he felt a blunt object strike the back of his head and nearly knock him off his feet. Coming to a stop, holding the back of his throbbing head, Jin turned around and was ready to cuss the old man out, but what he saw robbed him of any possible speech. The geezer was sprinting towards Jin so fast that he was kicking up dust in his wake. "Fuck me!" Jin cried as he turned and bolted for safety.
