A-Rank A Dangerous Escort (Cole, Hikari)

(Okay so calling hits on Cole and Sal because of the following reasons:

Hikari mentioned actively not looking at Hanaki's hands so she's still standing, metaphorically speaking of course, you're all actually standing. You know what I mean.)

It was amusing watching the babies, especially the cute one who tried to warn her friends, and when failing that, resorted to talking to her. How she had even guessed Hanaki was an assassin as the redhead had yet to reveal any weapon or murderous intent was beyond her, especially when the girl hadn't noticed her two male friends were now standing still.

For the genjutsu had of course gone through on the menfolk. They were smart babies granted, but they were babies. And this girl would learn in time why men couldn't be relied on. Today might be the first day of her education. As fort he boys, time would be standing still for them. They would not be able to see or hear or feel anything going on in the present and just be frozen.

"Alright cutie, let me level with you," she spoke, taking note of the fact that this white haired chick was not playing. "Your two friends are under my genjutsu, they're frozen in place and they aren't screaming or crumpled to the ground in pain, can you be a smart cookie and tell me why that is?" The redhead would wait a beat for an answer.

"They're like that because I haven't started torturing them," she revealed with another glint of her bright white molars. "No baby, that one's up to you. You can either let me have the coward behind you and go rescue your friends in the time it takes for me to disappear. Or you can stay here and watch me internally torture them. You look like a smart girl, what will it be then?"

As she spoke, the lord's friend from behind her would behind to move, trapped in the same genjutsu as the other two boys. If unimpeded, he would try to get away from his young escort and try to come to Hanaki. Genjutsu was so much more potent on people who had no idea what chakra was.

Suddenly, it was as if Salzem was chained down, unable to move. There was no weight upon his body, as if he was pinned, nor was he unconscious or not in control of his actions as if he were in a dream. No... this was something different. It was if his body was not obeying him. It was frozen as he were incased in ice. Even his eyes were frozen, unable to shift position. His spider, however was fully capable to move, as she was not encased the genjutsu. Using her telepathy, she reached out to Hikari mentally as she conversed with the fiend.

Uh... Female? Do you want to do something about this? Genjutsu release or something? Come on... Hurry up.

As she said this, Zeefalvora would not move, as if she was captured in the jutsu as well. Salzem found this paralysis completely distressing. Being unable to move, unable to even struggle against the chains that bound him. It was almost like his worst nightmare, completely helpless. And did that creep say something about torture? Heh. Well, he could have some solace there, defying her attempts to hurt him.

Cole didn't know at first what was going on, so he though back on everything that had happened so far. He knew that he couldn't move not even his eyes to see what was going on. He hadn't heard of anything like this before and he didn't care for it at least being used on him. He thought back he remembered that their was a guy coming at them he remembered Hikari telling them, but they found some random women instead. He then remembered that Sal said that it was a genjutsu. He didn't study genjutsu to much back in school so that is probably why he got himself into this mess. He would figure that, that is what is happening he is in some weird genjutsu and he had no idea how to get out of it. Then it hit him their was a jutsu for this. He tried to think of what it was and he remembered the lesson that he had back in the academy. Genjutsu release was the name of it. How could he have forgotten that he thought to himself. The only bad thing about it was that he never learned how to do it.

He remembered back in school he didn't think he would need to learn it. He thought he could just take it on and beat them as long as he didn't look them in the eye or anything, and now it has turned around and bit him on the but he thought to himself. He figured that after this mission he was defiantly finding someone to teach him that stupid jutsu. Cause he didn't even know if he could do the jutsu the way he was right now. He would just have to hope that Hikari had a plan or that Sal could get free, as he heard the women tell Hikari that she had both of us under her genjutsu.

Hikari, hearing the woman's words that Salzem and Cole were trapped in her Genjutsu, took a quick glance at the boys beside her, noting that what the woman said was true, they were standing still in a frozen like state. Her gaze quickly returned to the woman's shoulder area, not wanting to be an easy target for an attack. Oh no, she got them before I could warn them! This is such irony, in a bad way! I am the least experienced out of all of them, yet I am the one that noticed she was trying to trick us. I mean, it wasn't hard since she had already done a Genjutsu on us, plus she seemed interested in the man I was hiding when she first approached us, so I figured she was going to kill him and people who kill are technically assassins, or murderers but I doubted she would want to be called that. It was basic reasoning skills...


She heard a sassy female voice in her head speak to her, saying she needed to try a Genjutsu Release to free Salzem and Cole. She knew it was not the woman's voice, so she figured it had to be Salzem's familiar, the spider she saw on his back when she first arrived to the group. How do I do a Genjutsu Release on other people, do I just perform it and then like touch them so as to try to transfer it to them? Does that work? Am I even strong enough to break the Genjutsu? I'll have to try, but first I need to reply to her.


She was more determined than ever to save her teammates and complete the mission, both which were proving to be a big difficult since this assassins appearance. The aforementioned woman seemed to be getting serious, greatly worrying Hikari and putting her even more on edge. She had just heard the woman ask if she knew why her friends weren't crippled to the ground in pain. With a narrowing of her eyes, she answered the more than obvious question, "It's because you haven't started whatever it is you plan on doing to them, isn't that right?" She didn't need to wait for an answer, because the woman took no hesitation as she spoke what she planned to do, torture the boys mentally as they were helpless to resist it in her Genjutsu.

Hikari was then given an ultimatum by the woman, either hand the man over and save her friends or protect the man while her friends get mentally tortured. She knew it was a ninjas duty to risk their lives during every mission, if it meant the mission would be a success. She knew that she would not be able to hand over the feudal lords friend for the sake of her friends, unless she was dead. To Hikari's surprise, the man she was protecting started to move, trying to get past her to get to the woman. So, he was caught in it too. Go figure. Damn, this just got even more difficult. I guess I'll have to knock him out, he won't be useful to be as he is now.


She turned around and kept a grip on the man, her left hand on his right shoulder, he was not strong enough to fight her off. She silently apologized to him as she bottled her rig hand into a fist and hit him square in the temple, this rendering him unconscious and not affected by the Genjutsu (until he woke up again after a while, she figured).

Hikari, after she laid him quickly on the ground, stood back up, moving Salzem and Cole over a bit so she could stand in between the two and touch them, her eyes becoming glued to the woman's shoulder area again. "Why don't we fight, beautiful woman to beautiful woman, fair and square?" She asked, trying to sound as nice and cute as possible, a way of distraction. Hikari, as she spoke, had her left hand in the regular Hyuuga position while her right was lowered and in the tiger hand sign, she was trying the Genjutsu Release technique. If she was able, she would focus her chakra and send it throughout her body, as she had learned to do some from Salzem. Then she would try to quickly reach out and touch Salzem's right shoulder with her left hand and Cole's left shoulder with her right hand, transferring the Genjutsu Release to their bodies, hoping to disrupt them enough to break the boys from the woman's chains. She hoped with all her might that she would be able to free the boys so they could help her fight the woman.

The remaining baby had spunk it seemed. When she noticed the idiot trying to make his way to her, instead of stopping him, she knocked him out. But it was her kindness that would be her undoing in the end. The redhead couldn't believe that after such a display of cleverness, she would do something as silly as take precious time to lay the drunken fool down. Oh well, she was young, she would learn to prioritize.

It was in the tiny window of time that the white haired girl turned in a blatant attempt to free her fellow ninja that Hanaki struck. Refuting the offer of a battle between two women, she merely smirked. "You are cute," she whispered and then in a flash (speed of 50), she was by the old man lying down while the girl reached for her teammates. "Not quite beautiful," she whispered, licking her scarlet lips slightly. "But cute."

Reaching for the passed out man, Hanaki took his arm. "I'll be leaving now. Ta, and thanks for the memories." With that, Hanaki would attempt to body flicker away with her hostage

Salzem, still frozen, watched as the freakish Female assassin went for the old man. Still he struggled against the bonds of the genjutsu, still unable to move. Zeefalvora couldn't stop this woman in anyway either. She just wasn't strong enough. He would watch helplessly as she took hold of the old man.

Damn it Hikari.... hurry up and free me... Then I can get her....

Just after Hikari touched his shoulder, The woman disappeared with a body flicker. Salzem, however, was fast as well and his body would be covered in a blue chakra cloak. He would raise his arm and dash toward the Woman, aiming to cut her head off with his lariat. She was too fast and had already disappeared into the trees with the old man. He cursed fowly, before turning back to his team.

"We need to find her. We cannot allow any damage to happen to the old man."

Cole hated this he couldn't move he couldn't help Hikari until he was released from this jutsu. He made a promise to himself that in his head that when this jutsu was released he would kill this women for doing this to him. He felt like he was dead, but was still awake some how. If he could get free he would cut this women in two he thought to himself. By the time Hikari placed her hand on his shoulder he wasn't thinking of nothing but revenge for being put under a jutsu like this. When Hikari broke the jutsu cole would immediately feel the ability to move again, and create a blade of wind from the tips of his fingers that would extend to three feet from the tips of his fingers. He would move at a speed of 50 into hit the women, but she was already gone.

Cole would turn to see Sal running after her, and stopping before he could get her she was faster then he was with the body flicker jutsu. “Dam it” cole would yell out in frustration. He would walk up to sal with a look Hikari hadn't seen before, and Sal had only seen once when he lost it in their spar on his birthday. It could be seen in his eyes that he would kill that women if it was the last thing he did on this earth.

“so what do we do now she moved so fast she is out of range of my Rain tiger at will jutsu, but she went straight ahead” he would tell Sal and Hikari. While getting ready to chase after her. If Sal gave the order he would chase after her till the end of time with them. Until they caught her and saved the man and killed her. Which saving the man was on the bottom of his to do list at the moment. He wanted to deal with her first.

Dammit, I was too careless! Hikari, after she had touched her teammates and the woman had just disappeared and spoke up behind her, swiftly turned around to face the strange redhead. The redhead had made a fatal mistake as well, one even worse than Hikari's. From the time she turned around, it took less than a millisecond for her to be ready, as she was born and trained to be ready for this style of attack. As the woman spoke, saying Hikari was cute yet not quite beautiful, she would sign her death wish. When the woman decided to approach the man, and Hikari, she made one mistake, entering the Hyuuga's Eight Trigrams circle. She was in range, as the old man's head was right behind the three ninja. As the woman reached for the old man, Hikari's own jutsu was already in motion and coming at her with an increase to her own speed (now at 64 from the boost).


"Eight Trigrams: Sixty Four Palms!" The woman would have just reached the man's arm, since she would have had to take a few seconds to bend some part of her body to reach his arm lying on the ground, and Hikari would have just reached the woman, attempting her first strike of the Sixty Four Palms technique, with her palms facing the woman in the Gentle Fist fighting style and chakra ready to be pushed out of her chakra points to hit and disable the woman's chakra points, if it hit she would continue assaulting the woman with the technique but if it did not hit, she would attempt to grab ahold of the old man, or even the woman, in an attempt to save their escort from being taken. It would only take six "strikes" with her palms and chakra to hit all 64 chakra points of the woman, thus this technique would push the woman back with each strike and disable her. The strikes are as follows: First, two consecutive strikes to make two. Second, two consecutive strikes to make four. Third, four consecutive strikes to make eight. Fourth, eight consecutive strikes to make sixteen. Fifth, sixteen consecutive strikes to make thirty two. With the sixth Hikari would take a strong step forward, with another thirty two consecutive strikes to make sixty four.

Hanaki knew she had to tread carefully. While the frozen boys wouldn't give her any trouble - the redhead often thought those were the best kind of boys, the ones frozen under her genjutsu - the little cutie was a sharp one. Still, she had one thing working for her. No one knew what she was really up to. A hired assassin by profession, Hanaki worked with something a lot more subtle at times too.

Granted she wasn't sure of how the Byakugan worked, only having heard of it's existence and never having dealt with it before, but anyone knew that getting in close range was a mistake. And this was a mistake she was willing to make.

As her long finger's closed around the passed out man, she felt the first strike, hitting her sharply, leaving a mark.

And then there were a lot more marks. The cutie was quick, Hanaki would give her that. She might turn into a real beauty yet if she learned to be self sufficient. Her final thoughts as she passed out from the repeated blows was that she had managed her mission. She may never wake up from this but life was a game, and it was one Hanaki greatly enjoyed playing.

After all, she couldn't be a sore loser.

(Hanaki is unconscious, good job! You can kill her or leave her be. If you leave her be, she can invade lots more missions as NPC and become your arch nemesis. XD)

Finally free from the Genjutsu, Salzem whirled around to deal with the Missing Ninja, but Hikari seemed to already have taken care of her. She lay sprawled out on the ground, unconscious. Salzem would look at Hikari, then at the criminal before he closed his fingers around her throat and held her up in front of him, eyes ablaze. He felt so tempted to crush her windpipe now, keep her from coming after them again. She was a criminal, a monster, someone who the world would be better off without. Yet, he had spilled enough blood today. Crushing her throat wouldn't solve anything. He dropped her to the ground, letting her crumple to the ground. He did not withdraw his arm immediately, his fingers still twitched as if her throat was still in his grasp. He looked down the road, the Cloud was in sight. Salzem turned to the others, nodding towards the Cloud.

"Cole, Pick up the old man. Hikari... thanks for saving us." He would smile at her, then he would continue down the path. It was high time this mission was over.
