Flashes In and From the Past (Flashback P.)

Salzem prepared a retort, rage boiling on his tongue. Draconis's simple, yet icy cold response made Salzem want to smash him into paste more than ever, but he knew 2 things that would happen if he did that. 1, he'd attract more attention and ruin his chances. 2, His fight would likely end up with Sal either incapacitated, heavily damaged, or dead whether he won or lost. He shoved passed Draconis, back into the village, not before turning back to face him one last time.

"YOU are a greater fool than your 'kage.'" Salzem spat at him before running back into the village, secretly blinking back a few tears that formed there. He couldn't leave... not then...

Draconis harrumphed, mostly for drama.

"Good riddance" he growled, as Salzem brushed past.

He stared out into the long wet night, for many hours, before he turned back in, his mind a jumble of thoughts.
