Revelation (P)
Tue Dec 29, 2015 11:11 pm
The Mizukage monument stood tall against the Horizon, the figure of Xyxer himself staring out across the village. Some found the statue imposing and, fewer still, outright terrifying, while others were simply made uncomfortable by the statue's empty stare. Nonetheless, it was a symbol of the founder of Kirigakure, and it was very likely that any who defaced it would be swiftly and brutally punished. From the clouds behind the statue, a dark form appeared, lowering down towards the statue, wingspan casting a shadow upon the ground below. As the figure grew close, small, parted feet became visible, and slowly, one could make the figure out as a seagull, flying towards the statue. The bird would lower itself, preparing to land on the sculpture, but it would never reach its destination.
As it began to prepare to land, a kunai came flying from below, passing through the bird's wing and into its head, killing it instantly. The bird would fall to the ground, blood pooling at the feet of the one who had thrown the kunai. Haru Hyuuga stared lazily down at the bird, retrieving the kunai and tossing it into the water, to be devoured by the fish. Looking down at the blood pool, Haru sighed, annoyed at the creature's compulsive need to deface the statue.
Cleaning up the blood quickly, Haru wondered to himself how an ANBU ended up doing the job of a peasant. Sighing, he stood up, removing the water he had used and disposing of it, leaving no trace. ANBU often had to clean up crime scenes, so this was no challenge, but he did wonder how he always managed to end up doing low-level work. Shrugging, he looked back at the statue.

Seeing a member of his ANBU operatives not too far away, admiring his stony visage, Xyxer walked over towards him. He recognised the male from a letter he had received recently, reporting a death. However, that was morbid news, now was a joyous occasion!
Once he reached the side of him, he spoke simply, "Pretty good statue, eh?"

Looking back at the approaching chakra signature, Haru would hold up a hand in greeting.
"Indeed. It's a nice touch, seeing something to commemorate the leaders of our village. I don't recall anything like this in Tengakure." He said simply, turning to face the Mizukage. "So, what brings you out here, Lord Mizukage?" He would ask politely.

"Absence of ambition. What a putrid thing." Looking up from the feet of the statue all the way to the head, he wondered how many growth hormones he'd require to reach that size. Quite a lot, he assumed. Turning his head towards Haru as he spoke, he smiled a little and continued to walk forwards somewhat, "I came to see how you were holding up. How are you doing?"

Haru did his best to stifle the little bit of frustration he felt for the Mizukage's statement. His face would remain neutral, but the fire in his belly burned. Tengakure might not have been much, but it was the place he was born, and the place he watched fall all for Kirigakure. He would ignore the first comment by the Mizukage, deciding it best not to pursue. The second statement, made in response to Haru, struck him as odd.
"Err... Fine, I suppose? What exactly is this about, Lord Mizukage?" He would respond awkwardly, not knowing what exactly he meant by the question.

Turning around towards the male, roughly ten meters away now in case he was to spark into a rampage from what was about to be said, he looked around somewhat. "I suppose news did not travel too fast to you." He lifted his eyes from the ground towards him, focusing on his features, "Your grandfather was murdered recently." Pausing for a few seconds, he presumed family would come into his mind first, so he added on, "Your sister is safe, she's on watch inside of one of my apartments." Gee, he hoped the last comment didn't sound creepy.

Haru stood in silence as Xyxer explained the situation. He couldn't have said a word if he wanted to. For a few moments, he just stood there, shell shocked and numb. Then the emotions washed over him. It hit Haru like a ton of bricks. For a moment, he just stared blankly at Xyxer. Haru could believe his grandfather passing of age, but murder? His father was an elite ninja, he was the one who trained Haru himself, before Rin. How could he have been murdered?
"Murdered... By who? Who killed him? How?" Haru asked coldly, emotion starting to drip through his voice. He tried to keep a level head around the Mizukage, but this was a loss that pushed him over the edge. The emotion that oozed through his calm demeanor was not sadness, no, it was rage. "Give me a name and I'll find them, I promise, and then I'll tear their heart out and feed it to them!" He said, malice and anger filling his voice as he began to lose control. Turning away from the monument, he paced back and forth in frustration, trying desperately to hold in his emotions, as his Sharingan eyes began to swirl underneath his headband, transforming into the legendary Mangekyou Sharingan. The rage that came with a lifetime of loss washed over Haru, a lifetime of being too late to save the ones he loved. He couldn't save his mother or father. He was too late to save Rin, and Yozora, and Matsu, and Haruna... And now his grandfather was gone, just like that. He wanted to scream. He wanted to smash something, but the only thing around was that statue. Haru closed his eyes tightly, trying to regain his composure. Then, a small weight, a glimmer of hope, washed over Haru.
"What of my grandmother? Is she alright?" Haru would ask, quelling his anger for a moment. Xyxer had said nothing of his only other living relative, and he hoped for a small silver lining.

Xyxer watched as the male opposite him started to scream, a rage clearly taking him. The emotion was there, what was required. The loss of one extremely close to you.. His scanning however yielded no rewards for him, but, this man was capable of regenerating wounds.. clearly, there was something else to this. "Butchered, the both of them. The grandmother was upon the father." Xyxer paused momentarily after this, he felt the calling. The call for survival was almighty, even if it was preemptive. This boy could help him survive. Alive, or dead.
Trust could not be afforded in others anymore. He had placed trust in Shinji Uzumaki, and it had cost him his eyes and his limbs. He could only trust himself, and the power these eyes would yield to him. Around 10 metres away from Haru, 20 metres away from the statue. His eyelids lifted slowly, revealing the singular crimson eye. His features were different, for however little time they were displayed. Instead of the usual sardonic appearance, they had lightened into a stoic one. However, as this was about to turn most unfriendly, and fatal for one of these combatants, Xyxer removed Samehada from his back and held it out towards his front. He was taking his time for these movements, because even though he may have went full circle and became the traitor himself, he would not attack out of the comfort of surprise. He had some slither of honour, at least. His famed metallic skin, Abysswalker, crawled around his regular skin, creeping along every inch of him in order to protect him from the ordeal that was about to unfold. The ninja pouch still on top of the armour should he wish to use it.
Now, just in case his intentions had not been made clear enough, he knew a good way for Haru to truly comprehend what was about to happen. The wind around Xyxer started to howl and become fierce as the chakra overpowered the area, rain splattering from the sky with streaks of lightning running through the sky, seemingly informing the spirits inside of the clouds of the ordeal. Behind Xyxer, however, a monstrous, pitch black horse reared on it's powerful hind legs, a faint aura of crimson surrounding it, with a blurred amber colour where it's eyes should have been. It's exhalation alone was powerful enough to generate a mild mist, albeit not one that could be used for anything. Sitting atop this behemoth of a creature, was an omen. A figure clad in metallic armour once more, with a crimson cloak drooping from it's shoulders and back and an adornment of skulls littering it's armour as impaled features. The great sword within it's hand looked as if it would cleave the ground in half, with his silent gaze fixed harrowingly upon the male that was opposite of Xyxer. He had experienced loss recently, and he was about to experience his last one.
The Horseman of War knew.
Xyxer awaited the male to take up his own stance before he was about to part him from this world. He would not be lied about and spoken of as if he was afraid to fight on fair grounds. Once Haru had taken some sort of stance, Xyxer would dart towards the male, covering the ground rather rapidly before sending a single swing towards him using his left hand with the blade traveling from Haru's right shoulder to his left hip. Naturally, if circumstances were to change, he'd alter this if it was too detrimental. It seemed Xyxer had gone full circle, once a teamkiller, always a teamkiller.

Both of them? Gone? It couldn't be... No... How could he have failed to protect them, of all people, why them? Haru Hyuuga had done nothing but fight for his village all of his life, and now his life was falling apart all around him. What was left? Just Aryll. Haru let out a cry of anger, which echoed across the sea and through the streets of Kiriagkure, resonating for quite some distance.
"Mom and dad... Rin... Haruna... Now them too?" He would ask the empty air, before hearing the rustling of clothing and metal that indicated movement behind him. Turning, Haru saw Xyxer Gyojin, sword raised towards Haru, with a battle aura of a great horseman wielding a sword that would likely have been able to cleave the statue to bits with one swing appearing behind him.
For a moment, the rage in Haru seemed to subside, like the calm before the storm.
"You..." He muttered. "You did this." He said, the pieces flying together in his mind. Why else would the Mizukage himself have informed him of the death, here, alone? How else could his grandfather, who had been an elite ninja, been killed? Xyxer was pulling the strings all along. "...Fine. So be it. I'm tired of your damned tests." He muttered, the veins appearing to bulge around his Byakugan eye as he prepared himself, his mangekyou swirling to activate as well, though not the one in his forehead. That one could remain a secret.
Behind Haru, his rage would start to manifest in a battle aura of his own, the form of a great, grey bear appearing behind Haru, teeth bared and claws ready to rend flesh, gristle and blood fresh on its teeth, and rage clear in its eyes, towering over him and standing as tall as Xyxer's own. While Xyxer's aura showed something more refined, Haru's represented nothing but raw anger.
For a moment, the two would stand there in silence, as Haru took up a fighting stance, his chakra blades secure and hidden inside their quick draw pockets inside the sleeves of his armor and cloak, which he was still wearing from his encounter with Altar. He had not returned home since that day, and now he would never see his grandfather or his grandmother again. And it was through no fault of his own. Xyxer wanted Haru's Sharingan, that was the only explanation. Why else kill his family, and what's more, why tell him before he tried to murder Haru, if not to activate his Mangekyou? He never should have told Xyxer about his Sharingan. He thought he could trust his leader.
He was wrong.
Xyxer would begin to close the distance very quickly, moving only slightly slower than Haru himself could move. As Xyxer closed the distance, Haru would prepare himself, watching how Xyxer moved. As Xyxer swung the blade in a downwards arc with his left hand, Haru would step back and to the his right, out of reach of the Samehada, before suddenly surging forwards, moving incredibly fast as he executed his attack on the opening he found. He would step into Xyxer's guard, past the blade, so that it could not be swung back around at him, already aiming a strike at Xyxer.
The strikes would trail down the man's left arm, first the wrist, than the elbow, than the shoulder, before two more strikes would be placed on the man's side, and once more on his hip. If any of the strikes connected, Xyxer would find that his chakra was blocked, and Haru would find his own replenished. At that point. Should he be able to do so, he would continue to attack, blocking tenketsu as he moved. All the while, Haru would prepare himself for a retaliation strike, ready to counter with either taijutsu or medical ninjutsu.
