Learning the Art of Making Leaders (Koroshi/Ryu)

Walking into the doors of the kazekage's waiting room the ninja carried his usual mischievous smile and approached the woman at the desk. "Hello, maam is lord kazekage in? If he's busy its okay it isn't that important." Ryu said abandoning all courage and about to retreat out of the door he had just come through. The genin had seen Koroshi before, but he had never really spoken to the man. From what people had told him the kazekage was a nice and generous man, but when the word kage gets tossing into the mix all you can see is an intimidating figure with a lightning bolt striking down behind then. 

No find the resolve you always have and bring it to the surface. Turning around back towards the woman, Ryu pointed to one of the waiting chairs. "I'll go wait over there." Taking a seat it was obvious the genin was nervous, if he didn't have a tanned complexion from the Suna sun his cheeks would be flushed red with anticipation. He twiddled his thumbs briefly while waiting for the receptionist to call back to him with a go on up answer or a lord Koroshi is currently is unavailable.

The young woman at the desk known as Suki smiles at the young genin when he steps into the building, she listens to his request about seeing the Kazekage Koroshi, making sure to say that there is no urgency for this visit, simply that he wishes to speak with him. With a quick glance down at her date book and the different matters that Koroshi has already handled she looks over at the young man who is starting to walk to sit down "Actually it seems that he does have time to speak now, he has cleared up most of his schedule for today, and he always accepts visitors" She says with a light chuckle before gesturing to the stares on her left hand side "Head up the stairs, and his office is going to be on your right, there should be two people standing by the door" After giving him directions she would begin to look through her date book, trying to see what the next big event or busy day there will be, so that she can better plan ahead, and make sure that Koroshi is not swamped.


Should Ryu continue up the stairs and head to his office he would see two jounin guards talking amongst their selves, about seeing him they would great him with a friendly hello, before opening the door leading to Koroshi. This may seem strange to people, but Koroshi has made it a point that his guards are not to decline anyone from entering in after being cleared by Suki, if they were not they would have been able to hear some sort of struggle, or noise of some kind. That and Koroshi is sensing the whole Kazekage building, and can feel each and every person enter, and their heart beats. Another sense that they do not know about however is his negative emotion sensing that Kurama offers him, making the Kazekage building one of the safest places not only in Suna, but maybe in the world.


Should the boy continue onward through the door he would see the blonde headed Uchiha writing a few things down on a piece of paper with one hand, while holding a document up with the other causally reading it. His attire being his normal black leather jacket, matching judo pants, with the Kazekage hat resting on top of his head. Around his neck is a sliver chain necklace with a red pendent on it. Once Koroshi feels the boy enter the room he would place down the document he was reading, along with the pen that he was writing with, giving him his full attention "Hello, what can I do for you?" Koroshi says with a bright smile as he moves his arms up onto the table, lacing his fingers together

As the genin was about to take a seat the receptionist beckoned for the boy to return and with the anxiety building he approached the woman, who had the pointed to set of stairs. “Okay, thank you miss.” He said walking towards the stair case, he stopped right before it though making sure that his headband was straight and wrapped tightly around his arm. Before heading up the stairs. He looked around for a moment. She said to go right and there should be two people standing in front of the door.

He spotted the guards as soon as he got to the top step they were talking amongst one another, so approaching slowly. He bowed his head low, as a sign of respect to the jounin of his village. “Good, morning.” As the two quickly followed with a hello before letting the kid enter the office of the Kazekage.

Upon entering or even before the Kazekage would be able to see a blonde haired, lightly tanned kid. Around the age of twelve wearing sunglasses, an ear piercing, and a gas mask on the back of his head. On his body he wore a long sleeve, form fitting shirt which was purple on the torso and tan on the arms. On his arms a blue headband with the symbol of the sand embedded into the plate. He wore tan cargo shorts and tan sandals as the rest of his outfit. If his outfit hadn’t been odd enough this person was also exceptionally short standing at 4’10 small for someone of his age.

Once inside the Kazekage’s chambers he dropped to a knee immediately. It was almost instinctive, the man was highly deserving of respect and even if the kid wanted to tell a joke or something he couldn’t. When the kazekage addressed him “Hello, what can I do for you?” The genin raised his head to see a bright smile and crossed fingers, before it had looked like the village leader was going over important documents.

“Hello, lord Koroshi. My name is Ryu Reinhard, I was wondering if I could take a test to become a chuunin.” He pulled out a paper with all of the missions he had done on it, the latest being an A-rank. “I feel as with the title I could help the sand even more, by taking on missions that as a genin I cannot.”

Koroshi listens to the boys words, hearing his request to undergo a test to become a chunin, so that he can better serve the Sand village. Upon hearing this Koroshi thoughts begin to think of the jounin exam test that some of the other villagers will be undertaking, however jumping from Genin to two ranks above might come as a shock to most. Seeing the mission paper in his hand Koroshi quickly takes note of the A rank mission, and several other lower ranked missions. "Well it is nice to meet you face to face Ryu, as for a test to become a Chunin, there isn't really one for me to give you. Typically rank ups are given after you have done so many missions, have proved yourself in a dangerous situation, or have gone through the chunin exams." Koroshi says before pausing for a moment "Raising in rank comes with a lot of responsibilities, so we need to make sure that you are both physically, and mentally strong enough to handle the situations that you may face. I can see how you handle things in battle, however the more missions you do, and how you handle them will show me your leadership abilities, how you handle yourself in dire situations, among other things" Koroshi says giving a pause to let him think about the rank up, Koroshi is not trying to scare his ninja into not wanting to proceed forward, he just wants to make sure that he is ready for anything that might happen.

Should he accept being tested in battle then Koroshi would suggest that they go to the training grounds so that they do not destroy anything within the building

Ryu listened to his leaders words as he said them and understood how, having the power of a chuunin didn't necessarily equate to the experience. However, to show the man his leadership abilities he would need to lead a team which one could only do as a chuunin. There were many fresh genin he had helped train recently maybe they could vouch for him. 

When the kazekage recommended a test of strength the boy was a little worried. Fighting the kazekage is going to be a little hard, but I need to show I have what it takes. "I hope to live up to the standards of the village." He said as he stood up and accepted the challenge. I hope he doesn't expect me to win. "Umm... If you are busy lord Koroshi we can do the test another time." The smile he wore said he wanted to do the training now, but Ryu didn't want to be inconsiderate of his leaders other affairs.

Catching onto the boys worries when it comes to the spear, and hearing his words about living up to the standards of the village, and asking if Koroshi is busy or had the time he smiles "Ryu, you have already met my standards, you are healthy, respectful, and considerate to others. When I was speaking about seeing how you handle yourself in battle I was not implying that we do a serious spar, more like you show me different techniques while I put up scenarios for you to go through, you walking me through your actions and then displaying them." Koroshi says explaining what it is they will be doing should he accept "As far as time I have gotten to a point where I can take a break, so I am more than able to assist you if you would like, however if you have more pressing matters, or if you would wish to wait I will not force you" Koroshi continues, wanting to make sure that he knows that this is an open request, one that he could turn down should he chose to do so, and that there would not be any negative actions following. Hopefully this will make him more comfortable with the idea

"All, right sounds good." The genin said with a smile. So, it is just a test to see how I will handle myself. It sounds fair, I really hope to not disappoint. He bowed to the kazekage. "I have nothing too pressing to do at the moment, so if you are ready Lord Koroshi I am ready as well." He tightened the headband around his arm and waited for the kazekage to dismiss him. He said we should go to the training grounds for this, I really can't wait to see what he has planned for this.

With him agreeing to the test Koroshi smiles "Alright, we will be heading to the training grounds right after I inform Suki" He says as he gets up from his seat, walking toward the door and heading down to the main floor of the building  should the boy follow him. Once they are there at the main floor they would see Suki moving some papers around and writing stuff down. Once they get there Koroshi would begin to speak "Ryu and I will be out at the training for a while, if there is any pressing matter pop up you will be able to find us at the West training ground" After informing her of this she would nod with a smile before writing it down on a piece of paper. With that bit of business done Koroshi would begin to head to the training grounds he told Suki, should Ryu follow him.


With the training grounds being a little bit away it would give the two some time to talk if Ryu choose to. If not then the two would continue to walk, Koroshi waving and greeting the people of Suna as they walk, making sure to keep up his friendly appearance for everyone. After awhile of walking they would happen upon a training ground that at the time being is empty. There isn't any training equipment set up, nor is there anyone sparring or practicing here, it is a flat open space with wide stone circles sticking slightly above the sand, it is not finished but this area seems like it will primarily for sparing against people rather then dummies. Once they arrive Koroshi would gesture Ryu to go first, following behind him if he does, and taking the other side of the circle

"So, umm how is your day going?" Ryu said walking down the street with the kazekage. The height difference was real once the guy was standing. "I think the weather in Suna, is always too hot, but I don't know it any other way." He said as he walked down the street with the leader of the sand village. He suppressed his chakra as he walked in case the ninja was going to try and analyze his chakra strength before the training, of course Koroshi probably had analyzed it before so it probably didn't matter. In the same regard Ryu didn't annalyze Koroshi's chakra yet. Knowing what was coming before a test was cheating.

After entering the training grounds, they walked to an open area with a sparring arena. Hmm, a spar this could be fun. He looked around and there seemed to be no one in the area and no training equipment. It was then that Koroshi gestured the boy to take the lead and stand on one of the circles. The genin walked to the far circle, letting the kage take the closer one. Once in position he braced himself preparing to do combat with a much more experienced ninja. Okay, when dealing with a superior opponent distance is key. Start with shadow clones and use rasengan as a diversion while I move away. If he tries to follow have shadow clone B use wind glaive and pursue. I will use scorch jutsu in the meantime. 


Finally ready the genin looked up and smiled. "Ready, when you are boss." Clearly he was trying to remain calm, but even though the thought of this battle was exciting at the same time it was terrifying. Maybe they wouldn't even spar as Ryu remembered in the office that was unlikely, that was also slightly disappointing though.

Hearing Ryu speak Koroshi would listen to his words about his interest in his day, and what he personally thought of the weather here in Suna "I has been going very well thank you, what about yourself? As far as the weather I find it relaxing, it keeps may body warmed up in case their is an attack, while also offering a harsher training. If you would like however once we are done training we could stop to get a frozen treat to cool off" Koroshi says in reply as they near the training grounds. Once they have both taken their places Koroshi begins to look into Ryu's eyes, watching as he begins to plan out his moves if there is a spar, and how he would proceed, this is a very good trait to have when being a Shinobi. Hearing that he is ready Koroshi would begin to speak "First, I want you to close your eyes. I want you to picture yourself on a mission right now, you are surrounded by many people higher rank and more experience then you. There are 10 of them in total, they are circling you, and edging closer, what is your first action?" Koroshi says very calmly., however unless Ryu shouts his eyes he will not continue on past "Close your eyes" . Should Ryu do what he is told Koroshi would wait for his reply, interested to see what he would do when faced with unbeatable odds, to see what a young Shinobi would be feeling when faced with possible death.
