Robbing Merchants (Mission)(Solo)
Sun Jan 07, 2018 9:32 pm
'The glow from their fire, a easy target to find. Too easy... There must be guards hidden somewhere to allow them selves to be so easily seen.' That was the thought running through Kenji's head as he sat in the tree top just outside of good visible range in the dark of the night, but he knew only time would tell if his assumption were true.
He continued to observe the merchants as they set up their nights camp, placing 2 tents and a block by the carts to insure they would not roll away in their sleep. The bigger of the 2 merchants was a fat man, bald headed and seemed to enjoy alcohol as he down 4 bottles of sake before falling to the ground asleep.
'One down, he won't be an issue anymore, too drunken to wake by my arrival.' Kenji thought to his self as the man began to snore ever so loudly, but the second merchant was quite the opposite as he seemed to nervously shake as he crawled into bed under the tent. The crackling of wood in the fire, *pop* *snap* were what wrote his lullaby as he drifted as an hour pasted.
Finally a single man from the shadows showed his self, his attire said it all... Ninja, someone who definitely knew a jutsu or two. That's when it happened, suddenly with little time to react the man disappeared in a puff of smoke appearing behind Kenji only to be parried by Kenji's beloved sword against his kunai. The struggle of strength causing the blades to slide making sparks, Kenji smiled as did the man before they pushed off of one another now standing 4 meters apart on the massive tree branch. Clashing began with steel on steel, the abilities of the two with weapons and obvious match as of now, but for how long? Kenji decided when the time was right he would go for broke and try for the jutsu he had wanted to learn so badly, it was difficult to pull off but would make for a great ability in a time like this. No time to prepare as it seemed though as the man clashed again and again trying to were out Kenji's body and will, but to no gain he tried because Kenji knew his fortune awaited him in the carts below.
It was in an instant that it all seized, the man no longer visible as Kenji stood waiting with his sword drawn. Could he have the chance now to perform the technique? Or would that moment of diverted attention be his death? Kenji knew this was a risk, but if things proceeded at this pace the fight would never end and by morning reinforcements would come from the nearby village. The man reappeared from the trees to the left, Kenji quickly spun deflecting the kunai and diverting the attack letting the man once again disappear into the surrounding brush of tree limbs covered in greenery.
Finally Kenji decided to make his move, the sound of a foot hitting a branch to his right and then behind him a twist on the bark. Kenji spun around and leaped forward, time seemed irrelevant in this action as they closed the gap between them with no options for escape as the inched forward through the air. A white wisp began at the hilt of Kenji's sword making its way around the blade from base to tip, then another a mere 2 centimeters apart from the first followed creating a second barely visible white wisp flowing so naturally up the blade.
The air around Kenji changed as it seemed to grow thinner, a manipulation was able to be felt by the opponent as they grew closer to one another. The air seemed to draw to a focal point on the blades edge, being warped be these small white wisps which now began to move a bit faster than before, colliding like two tiny tornadoes across the blade. They intertwined and when they touch they pushed each other aside, like magnets repelling each other they began to do something to the blade as it felt lighter in Kenji's hand like the wind no longer had an effect as he drew with in arms reach off the attacker.
'Now! It's ready! I will perfect this jutsu or die here!' Kenji's mind was set his eyes filled with determination the wisps seemed to become infuriated as he swung the blade for the mans waist, just above the hips hoping to cut through the tissue and organs of his abdomen and only have to severe the spinal cord and no another bone. The wisp pushed away the tissue and flesh as it carved the way letting the blade be the leader for it as the severed the mans torso from his legs. Time felt like normal as the separated halves fell the to the forest floor, a thud could be heard on impact leaving Kenji standing on the branch above now alone looking to his right hand a blade surrounded in white wisps upon a shining blade which no blood had stained. As Kenji began to release the jutsu the air around began to regain its full thickness and return to normal, then the first wisp seemed to slowly dissolve as it was swirling down to the hilt disappearing into nothing. Leaving only the final wisp around the blade Kenji smiled looking upon it as it followed the one before it, disappearing slowly into nothing as it made it's swirl back down to the hilt.
'The strength of Burēdokattā, I will use it to hone my skill.' Kenji had made up his mind as he jumped from the forest seeing the sun almost breaking the horizon, the merchants still asleep as he approached them looking at the two coin purses laying by their side. He simply reached down grabbing them before turning and retreating to a safe spot about 20 meters into the woods, opening the purses and proceeding to empty them into his hand and discard the bags. He counted the ryo and smiled, not what he would consider a life is worth but enough to feed his self for another day.
[Mission: Robbing Merchants]
[Jutsu Trained: Fuuton: Burēdokattā]
[Word Count: 1,040]
[Not sure the reward cause it says 500 word count requirement and then 450 words for reward? So I don't really know what I get other than the bonus AP]

Approved, and you get 450 ryo for completing this mission. It was suppose to say "450 ryo" and not "450 WC". So just add that 450 ryo as your rewards
