Reminiscing After Returning Home (Minx)
Fri Sep 06, 2019 11:34 am
Lilac tinted eyes gazed upon the statue of a man who was as cold as the stone perched upon such a pedestal. It was hard to imagine what was going through his mind, even more so now that he was no longer in the village. Word had spread rather quickly when they left the sandy lands of Suna that their leader was not aboard any of the ships they had departed on, and she hadn’t felt the familiar feel of his chakra since they had gone through Kirigakure’s village defenses. She wasn’t sure if he had gone alone or taken others with him, and the thought of Kotsuzui being whisked away was unnerving. He was one of the few living that Hikari could find solace in, the only one who could understand what she was going through for he too went through it. No one in this salty, wet land could truly comprehend what had taken place months ago at the gates of Konoha, the horrors she was forced to witness at the hands of her own people. Crimson liquid flowing out of a person too young, the light fading from their eyes as they slowly died, how she was a complete and utter failure to save the only person she cared about the most.
Her skin prickled, but whether it was due to the cool breeze or at the memories resurfacing, she wasn’t sure. The feelings she had tried to bury clawing back for her heart, and the snowy haired woman wanted to erase everything that made her human, especially the emotions that constantly gnawed at her, and become a monster like the man standing motionless in front of her. That’s the only reason she agreed to join this place, that and the fact she hated her village of course, but thinking on that was an avenue she didn’t want to travel further down. She needed to repress her thoughts and the events that have taken place in order to become stronger, it was the only way she could avenge her brother’s murder.
Soft hairs bristled at the hand to her side, her familiar, Kuro, sensing the spiral she was about to let herself go down decided it was best to pull her attention away by nuzzling her back to reality. His scarlet eyes looked up at her, worry dotting them like a mother for her child. He hadn’t been there for the war, knew not of the scars her heart had succumbed to, and he all he could do was try to piece her back together when she began to fall even more apart.
(WC: 436)
(For your reference, her outfit is the one in my pfp, she is 4'9, and her wolf familiar stands at 4'0 iirc)

Who would've thought that susanowa had found himself at a place like this. Places like these, where people built for the dead. it was a place that people could waste their times, and reminiscing about some sort of past that their dead loved ones shared. it was something that he could see himself, but somehow he landed in the exact location that he didn't predict. Susanowa acted as though he was lost and didn't know where he ended up, despite being someone who has been living here since he was born. While he is born and raised here in kirigakure, there are places around this village that he didn't get to see, because of the possibilities of getting lost.
While the overly confident, Senju thought he knew where he was going. His empty head forgot what he meant to do and nothing seemed to jog his memory. As the lost susanowa began to sink himself in his thoughts, and his eyes ended up trailing until he saw the mizukages monument. When his eyes caught the monument, he also saw a girl and her companion with her. She looked much older than Susanowa but he had long realized that women knew some secrets of maintaining eternal youth. Susanowa wanted to know why the girl was here of all places. The young senju's grin perked up as he made his way over to this stranger, as if he had some idea to what he was going to do. "What are you doing at a place like this?" The senju asked kindly, as he approached the girl cautiously without the intention of frightening her.

As she stared in lost thought at the frozen statue of the Mizukage she picked up on a nearby chakra approaching through her chakra sensory skill, so even before the young shinobi spoke up behind her she knew they were already there. Pupil-less eyes met with light pinkish ones as she turned around to confront whoever had decided to follow in her steps and visit the man who was no longer there. They, for she couldn’t quite tell if the person was a boy or girl, asked her why she was there, a grin upon their lips and warmth enveloping their inquiry.
Their greeting gave her all the info she needed on how inexperienced they were. They were far too kind to have seen the cruelties of war and must’ve just recently graduated from the academy if she had to guess. It was a pity they had decided to become a ninja at such a young age. That was all that ran through her mind when she saw them. Seconds later came time for her to respond to them, although she didn’t have much of a good reason for visiting this place, and if they didn’t know that the Mizukage hadn’t returned well then she wasn’t about to inform them of that. No sense in causing panic or histeria, especially to someone so young and easily frightened. Last thing she needed was to babysit someone who was causing unnecessary havoc even if their intentions meant well.
“I was just wandering around and stumbled upon Lord Mizukage’s statue. It’s my first time seeing it actually.” Her voice was neither cold nor warm, just a neutral, monotonous tone as she spoke. She would’ve usually smiled even slightly at anyone who approached her, but today she didn’t feel like putting on such an act.. It was exhausting having to feign happiness all of the time, plus the Mizukage hardly showed kindness yet was adored by the entire village, so Hikari felt maybe she could get away with the same. “What about you? Did you come here on purpose or accident like me?”
When the person got near Kuro had also sensed them before they spoke up due to his enhanced canine abilities, but didn’t move close to them. They were young and not hostile so he didn’t view them as a threat. Instead, he sat at the snowy haired Jounin’s feet and watched the two interact with his crimson eyes, his tail wagging as Hikari pet his head after she spoke.

Susanowa was rather surprised that the girl knew that he was coming up on her, without taking a quick glance. He took note about this girl and her interesting skills. Susanowa assumed that she could just be a good at sensing other people's chakra. Not that it wouldn't be much of a difficult task, since he has no knowledge of concealing his chakra. He never intended on doing it in the first place. He was more or less curious as to what she was doing here at the mizukages monument. It isn't healthy to be reminiscing about past events.
It isn't like Susanowa knows anything about stuff like that, but he has a dislike towards thinking about past things. What's in the past should just stay there. Both her and Susanowa's reasons for being here, seemed to have aligned with each other. He didn't have an interest in visiting places like this, and thought that he was lost. "Ahh... I see, I was kind of actually doing the same. Happened to stumble upon this place myself" Susanowa says, with a slight delay during the beginning of his sentence, before laughing it off, and not telling her that he was lost. "You seem pretty good at detecting people." Susanowa complimented on her abilities.

They were two birds of the same feather, both wandering aimlessly in the misty village with no real destination. Except they were nothing like her in every other aspect. They could laugh freely at anything with not a single care in the world. How nice it must’ve been to be so ignorant. Yet she didn’t show a single sign of her resentment towards the young shinobi, and instead held her tongue on the matter. She had hope that they wouldn’t be tainted as she had been, that they could live a happy life as a ninja despite growing up in the Bloody Mist.
“Thank you, although that sensory ability was nothing special. Every Jounin should be able to do it, and even younger ranked shinobi if they want to learn it.” The snowy haired woman pondered for a moment on whether she should show them her clan’s doujutsu, but then thought better on it for the time being. Giving away such precious information could wind up getting her killed or hunted down. However, she felt giving her name would suffice. If he knew of her clan then he would already know of the basic abilities her Byakugran could do, and that information was a given from her eyes being pupil-less and almost fully white in color. “I’m Hikari Hyuuga by the way, and this is my companion, Kuro. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.” At the mention of his name he looked up at the stranger, wondering how they would react to him since he was quite the large beast and many before were scared to reach out to him despite the wolf loving attention when in a non-hostile place.
She waited patiently for their reply, already preparing herself for them to ask her to instruct them on learning the Chakra Sensing ability. She had left the option open to them because she felt generous, after all they were amazed by such a simple technique, it was the least she could do. Plus it might prove to come in handy keeping them alive, and that mattered the most to her. She might not have been born in this village or had many, if any, friends from it, but she needed to start expanding her connections as well now that she proudly wore the Kirigakure headband on top of her head, keeping her hair out of her face. No one could find out she was from Konoha if she wanted to fit in with her new home.

The white snow haired girl describe a unique technique to be something simple. Simple enough for the young Senju could learn, while it was true that such a technique was easy to the eyes of someone that’s more experienced than an average Shinobi. Still it looked impresses, however such a technique wasn’t something that he was interested to learn. He has his eyes on wanting to be a medical ninja, as well as dreaming of being a famed Senju clan member all across the Shinobi world. It was a stupid pipe dream that was expected for someone as young as Susanowa. Once the young girl revealed her rank to be a Jounin, his surprised felt uncontrollable. As if he was a sheltered kid who never experienced a fruitful world. “You must have trained a lot to achieve such a rank” To meet a Jounin rank Ninja for the first time was an honor. He hadn’t met one before until now as she peaked his interest more and more. Wanting to know the full extent of her capabilities. It was clear that Susanowa hasn’t seen much that the world has to offer and his goals became more brighter than the sun rays beaming towards the surface. After his excitement was over, the girl revealed her name to be Hikari Hyuuga.
“Wait!” After hearing the last part of her name, Susanowa had an idea but his mind wasn’t too filled with knowledge of certain clans in certain villages. He was mostly a lacky but there are ways that can peak his interest, and get him interested in different types of information. “I’ve heard rumors about a famous clan that went by that name, they’re one of the clans that resides in Konoha, no?” Susanowa didn’t sound very sure, because if she was a Hyuuga and if they were one of the major clans in konoha. What is someone like her doing here in kirigakure? Is it something to do with the Mizukage? Are they perhaps close to each other? The thinking Senju sized her. Looking up and down, as if he was admiring her looks--which wasn’t the case. “--Well in anycase, I can’t talk--considering the fact that I too am from a famous clan, I’m sure you’ve heard of the Senju clan. However, I am a born here...Kind of weird don’t you think?” Susanowa says, revealing to her that he is apart of the Senju clan, but leaving out his first name. It seemed important enough to know that he’s a senju, and his first name wasn’t so much.

The slightly taller shinobi was easy to read, their face contorted in surprise at finding out her rank. Their reaction came as no shock to Hikari however for she was slowly becoming accustomed to people not realizing she was a Jounin. It was a part of her life that she didn’t try to waste time on changing, not when there were more pressing matters at hand. Thus she responded to them with a casual tone to her voice, “Yes, I’ve trained for countless years in the medical field to be where I am now, yet even I still have much more to learn despite it all.”
There wasn’t much else she felt could be said about her training unless they had more questions for her, since she had already revealed herself to be a medic and a Hyuuga she had little secrets left to keep from the perceptive young ninja. The unknown shinobi continued to surprise her as they shouted out wait, as if they had just came upon some magnificent revelation, and mentioned they knew about her clan being from Konoha. It was the response she had expected from someone who knew even the basics about her clan, and it wasn’t a secret that they hailed from the Leaf Village. However, she knew of the perfect way to ease their worries about her reasons for being in Kiri.
“You are correct, the Hyuuga clan is originally from Konoha.” It would’ve been hard for her to miss the skepticism in their tone, but she kept her voice calm. She had nothing to fear from something like them, and her lie was hard to refute. “However, not every Hyuuga has been raised there, such as the Hyuuga heiress and myself. We both have grown up here, and I’m sure there are countless other Hyuuga’s in different villages besides the Leaf too.”
After she finished her half true explanation and they completed sizing her up, they revealed that they were from the Senju clan, which was also known to be from Konoha. She knew little about the Senju clan even though she hailed from the same village as them, having only met one other Senju before this one and he was the Hokage at the time so she didn’t know him well. Shortly after she returned from a couple months-long mission he was no longer the kage, someone else had already replaced him and no one seemed to know what truly happened to him. All she ever got from asking around were various different stories about what took place, each one sounding more ridiculous than the last.
“Yes I’ve heard of your clan, but I don’t really think it’s weird that you were also born here despite your clan being from there. Making everyone from a single clan live in one village doesn’t sound that appealing to me, so I much prefer it this way.” She hoped to make them feel more comfortable around her, if only to help them open up. She wanted to know more about their clan, something she might be able to use, but that wouldn’t happen if they were still wary of her or felt like they couldn’t trust her. A small part of her truly did want them to just feel more relaxed around her, without having any ulterior motives, but she knew that part of her could no longer exist within the new her. Xyxer wouldn’t care about such trivial things as people feeling comfortable around him so she needed to get used to not caring either.

Meeting another medical ninja wasn't some sort of dream that the young senju had. He hoped to have meet one soon enough in his career to becoming a successful medical ninja. It was good to see someone of a higher rank, and to also see one who is well refined. Hikari appeared to be someone who was molded well by her people, or probably by herself. It was a good opportunity to see if the Hyuuga can teach Susanowa a few tricks that she has. "Its always fun to meet someone, who wants to excel in the same field as the other." Susanowa says with a bright smile. Susanowa became interested in wanting to know what sort of cool tricks that, Hikari can show him. If she doesn't mind of course.
It was good to have a clear understanding about how most clan members of a specific village, such as the Senju and the Hyuuga are all spreaded out like wild fire. Instead of being all one big family, like a swarm of bees in one large hive. While there were already enough people in the village of konoha as it is. Meeting people in every corner, with the possibility of knowing that someone is of the same clan as you can be boring. There is a lot of stuff to learn about the Senju clan, Susanowa himself doesn't know much about his own clan, however. He isn't so much interested in the history, and how they came to be. Those things are probably buried out somewhere. Lost in ancient times.
"Say, you mind showing me a few tricks of yours? I'm interested in becoming a medical ninja myself--the best one to be specific" Susanowa showed great eagerness in wanting to learn some stuff.

The child before her began to pique her interest at the mention of wanting to excel in the same field. They wanted to become medics, to save people as she does, which reminded her of when she was younger and didn’t truly grasp the risk of putting such a large target on your back. The war between Kono and Kiri had taught her that lesson at the cost of everything she loved.
Hikari doubted anything she could say would change this kid’s resolve to specialize in medical ninjutsu, so she didn’t even try. Instead she hoped she could at least instill a bit of veteran wisdom in them to save their life in the future whenever they had to put their skills to the test on the battlefield.
“I’d be more than happy to show you some.” The corners of her lips turned upward in a small smile as she spoke, although there was a brief moment where sadness flashed in her eyes before they became completely cold again. “Best one huh? Looks like I have a new rival to watchout for, how exciting.” She then extended her right hand and sent some of her medical chakra to it in order to envelope the porcelain skin in a light blue aura. “Since you aim to be the best, you should definitely learn a jutsu called Chakra Absorption. It requires no handseals to activate but does need you to make physical contact with whoever you are using it against after you focus medical chakra to your hand, which is the key factor to making it work. If you want to grab my hand I can show you how this technique feels, since my medical chakra will take some of your chakra and you’ll be able to feel it drain away at your chakra reserves. Of course I won’t take a lot, just enough for you to understand how this jutsu works. Then you can practice it on me if you want.”
If they grab her hand they will feel as if their body has become a little heavier and they’ll feel slightly more tired, but as soon as they feel effects like that Hikari will pull her hand away so as to prevent them from losing too much chakra. Then she would wait for them to either ask more questions or attempt the technique on her if they want.
