Chuunin Exams: Nekrun vs. Vergil

Stats:

The skies over the Chuunin exam arena were cloudless and bright blue as the sun shined brightly and caused shadows to rain down from the numerous amount of trees that lined the arena walls. The audience that sat in their shaded stands would be comfortable while watching the fights between Genin unfold before them while also having a plentiful supply of food and beverage thanks to concession stands. In the meantime one ninja was watching the arena's large jumbotron screen as it was in the midst of selecting the contestants for the next match. He would wait patiently, his arms folded with his sheathed katana held firmly in his left hand, until the jumbotron finally landed on two names: Nekrun vs Vergil. Finally the time had come as Vergil turned from his position to walk down the steps that would lead him down to the entrance into the field for him to go through.

The blue coated warrior walked calmly into the arena, his coattails flapping behind him in response to the gentle breeze that blew, as he heard his name being announced to the whole arena thanks to the proctor that stood in the exact center. For the first time in his life he heard an uproar from the crowd as he stopped about eight meters away from the proctor and he looked up in incredulity that they were all potentially cheering for him. It gave him a sense of pride hearing them cheer though he couldn't let his emotions get the better of him as he took a fair look at his surroundings. The arena was 100 meters in diameter and he could see about fifteen trees in total, each separated more than ten-twenty meters of each other, as they surrounded the field while remaining more than five meters from the wall. There wasn't any water anywhere to be seen on the field and, other than the trees, there were no obstacles anywhere on the field. 

The proctor would step back a few meters upon announcing both names as the crowd was in a hush now as they watched to see what was about to happen. Gripping his sword tightly in his left hand Vergil was ready for whatever was about to transpire as the proctor stated that both combatants could start when ready. It was time for Vergil to finally see if he was strong enough to carry on with his path... or too weak to even get through one fight. It was time for time to tell.

Stats:

Nekrun saw his name appear on the jumbotron and made his way down the stairs. This was Nekrun's second try at the chuunin exams and he had grown greatly since the last time he tried. He made it onto the field and heard the crowd cheer, so he did a few tricks he learned with his scythe such as throwing it spinning into the air and catching it with one hand. This made the crowd cheer louder, but Nekrun would ignore them from this point on as he got to the 8 meter mark from the proctor exactly opposite that of Vergil. Nekrun looked at Vergil noticing he wore a similar outfit, one large dark coat practically, maybe they even had similar fighting styles. Destiny showed itself in weird ways sometimes. Nekrun heard the okay and held his scythe in hand ready to fight.

Vergil was stone faced as he saw his opponent come out and step up to his positiom. He had never met this ninja before but, from the feel of his chakra, he could tell that they had a large amount of power behind their scythe. The proctors had already told the two to start when ready so Vergil, still holding his sheathed katana in left hand ready for him to draw, used his thumb to push the hilt of his sword up a bit. The bit of steel that would show shined in the sunlight as Vergil brought his free hand up to form the seal of confrontation. A sign of respect among ninja who were about to spar. Whether or not his opponent did the same he would be prepared for whatever was about to come.

Nekrun stood, his scythe at the ready in his right hand, He did the same seal showing that he was ready for the fight to begin. Nekrun started devising somewhat of a plan as he assessed his opponent across from him.

OOC:

Seeing that his opponent was ready Vergil would bring his sheathed sword around to his free hand which was already up to his face before forming two seals, horse and tiger, while drawing in a breath. He would then quickly bring his hands down before blowing outwards towards his opponent as a large ball of fire would blast out and make it's way towards Nekrun's position. He would not stop there, however, as he would quickly reach into his pouch that rested behind him and he would pull out a smoke bomb as he waited for the ball of fire to get about 8 meters away from him before he tossed one to the ground two meters away from his feet and stood still in it's smoke. Pulling out a kunai and another smoke bomb, forming a hand seal while doing so, he would stay vigilant of his surroundings while in the smoke he would then stuff his other smoke bomb in the center of the ring at the kunai's base and wait to see what other actions he would need to take.

OOC:

Nekrun saw his opponent creating the two handsign, he was ready to get this battle started and already had decided upon a course of action. Nekrun still held the seal of confrontation and due to the slow speed of the fireball, which he knew was low level and obviously a diversion tactic due to his research in the jutsu encyclopedia, he was able to pull off the summoning tech after biting his thumb which added the blood, his snake, shi, appeared before him which promptly went into his hand and became a whip. But before it got into his hand he formed the clone seal and activated the flesh clown jutsu, the bud fell from him and became a clone in a mila-second. Nekrun watched as the clone activated spirit wave along with body flicker, after making sure it was a clear path the clone traveled 90 degrees to the side of Vergil and charged at him, at the same time Nekrun used the snake summon in it's whip form to whip Vergil's leg off memory, breaking it on impact if it hits. Nekrun would continue to swing the snake unless he noticed something else. The snake would easily cross the 18 meter gap as it is 20 meters. Vergil would also be preoccupied with the flesh clone going in to use his scythe as to slash at vergil's legs, if it hit he would be paralized for the fight, cutting straight through the bone, but whether it hit or not the clone would go in to punch Vergil in the stomach with full strength, knocking him out on impact, but making sure not to hit any vital organs. Vergil wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Nekrun and the flesh clown as they wore the exact same things along with having the exact same items on him. Nekrun would watch as the fireball blew straight past him not affecting him in the slightest.

OOC:

Taking the opportunity to watch Nekrun's every move from his position 16 meters away with his Sharingan, Nekrun's chakra clearly visible through his much weaker in power fireball, he would watch Nekrun whilst seemingly bit one of his fingers as the fireball got within 8 meters away from Nekrun. Taking that as his chance Vergil would then grip the hilt of his kunai, taking in a deep breath whilst channeling his chakra into the blade, before throwing the blade with all his strength at Nekrun's position. The kunai would pass straight through his shot fireball, moving way faster than the ball was travelling, as the chakra around the kunai would also protect the smoke bomb fit snugly in it's ring. The kunai would zoom quickly out of the fireball making it's way towards Nekrun's position as the chakra in the blade surrounded and seeped into the smoke bomb. If the blade hit Nekrun in the intended spot of Nekrun's gut nothing would happen. If he did do something against the blade, well... Either way Vergil was remaining vigilant as he would run towards Nekrun at full speed while watching to see what would happen. He would make sure to run at a speed slower than the fireball, at a speed of 35, as his senses were on full alert.

Argument:

Nekrun immediately noticing that he didn't do the summoning jutsu correctly switched his hand to the ram seal and side stepping to his left 10 meters, also doing the clone seal with his clone doing the same thing, but to the right. Both with kunai in hand. When either sees Vergil they would throw the kunai in their hands directed at Vergil, and watch. If they didn't see Vergil they would stay vigilant.

OOC:

Vergil watched his kunai, soaring straight through the fire ball's fiery fury, as it made it's fast way towards Nekrun. Unfortunately for Nekrun it would prove too fast for him as he decided to make a ram seal while still within the kunai's path. The Kunai would thus find it's mark, sticking itself deep within Nekrun's gut, as Vergil who was running behind the fireball kicked into high gear just as it approached 6 meters away from Nekrun. He would run around the fireball, getting in it's direct path, before drawing his sword and slicing the fireball in two causing it to disperse into a clouds of useless embers before slowly sinking the sword back into it's sheath. Looking around to see if Nekrun was lying on the ground he would wait for the proctors to confirm his victory before leaning down to pull the kunai out as healing chakra flowed from his hand and closed Nekrun's wound. He would see with his Sharingan that the wound was deep but not too deep to put Nekrun's life in danger as he wouldn't need too much medical care in order to get back out onto the field.

Taking in a deep sigh upon seeing he had won, getting the smoke bomb from the kunai he had used and putting both tools back in his pouch, Vergil decided to leave a few parting words for Nekrun before standing up.

"Heal your wounds, young ninja. Get stronger. If ever you feel you wish to have a rematch with me I'll oblige you."

Afterwards Vergil would stand, katana still sheathed in left hand and his eyes reverting to normal, before he stepped off the field towards the exit to the sounds of applause roaring around him.

OOC:

Nekrun stood there attempting to make the ram seal, but was interrupted by the sudden plunge of a kunai into his stomach. Upon feeling the sharp pain he acted upon instinct that he had been training. Nekrun activated yin wound healing destruction, along with his chakra cloak, without even thinking, the kunai would be pushed out of his stomach as he stood up straight. Nekrun grabbed the kunai from his stomach. Nekrun would see Vergil come out from around the fireball and look around trying to find him. Nekrun would quickly throw the kunai at Vergil while he still searched for Nekrun. The kunai, if it was on target, would pierce straight into Vergil's stomach, the same way he had pierced Nekrun. Nekrun thought of it as a form of revenge, either way Nekrun ran at his opponent in a fury, ready to destroy him. Nekrun would use his 6 foot long scythe to gain the advantage and slice his opponent in the back, wrapping the blade around him to do so. Nekrun would then try to pull his opponent to him and punch him in the gut, making sure not to hit his scythe.
