As Honi licked the child's face, Taichi's concern did not waiver. His concern the child's well being was at the fore front of his mind and he knew that there wasn't much that he could do to ensure his safety, but this child seemed to be strong willed. A strong will was something that would save you just as quickly as it would kill you. A smile would inhabit his face, whether he liked it or not. Honi really liked the child, just as Taichi had a hard time not doing the same. The child reminded him a lot of himself, a child who may be naive, but still had the protection of the world at the forefront of his mind.

He called Honi off of the child. Just as he commanded Honi, she leaped off of the boy and sat by his side. He pet her head as he let the child lift himself up from the ground. Taichi would look down onto the boy, with a stern look at first, trying to keep his hard exterior, but unfortunately the child was able to break away that exterior far easier than he thought possible. The optimism of the child was infectious. He put his arm around the child as he exclaimed, "Well my boy, if you are to travel with me, then you are going to need to learn just how to handle annoying and angry people all the time, so it's off to the tavern!"

Taichi needed a drink after the long day of training, by long day he meant watching a child do all the work while he just watched and criticized. Taichi and, if the child would follow him, Sozin would both leave for the tavern where Taichi would drink the night away and talk to the child about what they were going to work on the next day. They were going to focus on honing the water element and combining techniques on top of the technique that they had learned that day. They were also going to work on the child's stamina, and Honi's while they were at it.

"Tavern? Is that where people go to drink that gross brown stuff? " Sozin asked as Tachi's arm fell around the boy. It was mostly rhetorical, to be honest. The trio made their way towards the village. As they walked Sozin recapped the evens of the day. He was happy with himself for learning such a complicated jutsu so fast. It gave him hope. Hope that he really would live up to the goals he set for himself. Now that he had a strong mentor to learn from, the sky was the limit for the boy. There was nothing he felt he couldn't do.
