Re: Why is He in the Hospital? (Kenshin)

Something about the comment about not going rough seemed to rub the Kage off in the wrong way. “Shin, I want you to understand something…" Kenshin would start, almost like he was Shin's father. Shin looked at him in the face instead of through the reflection and listened. "Sometimes this world simply isn’t fair, bad things can and do happen to good and honest people… those that truly don’t deserve any hardships or ill tidings. It’s for that reason that if you were to take part in any Chunin Exams or fights within these walls that I would expect you to fight with your fullest ability..." Shin nodded, thinking that it wouldn't be fair to the others. But life had shown him that life wasn't fair. "...even if it was unfair for your opponent. Sunagakure is a village that respects strength, and unlike some other villages, I will not allow the growth of our stronger and more skilled shinobi to be hampered for the sake of those weaker than them… and that isn’t just for the benefit of the strong. In and itself that is a mentality that only sets those weaker shinobi up for failure in the future, as no true enemy would fight with such a handicap… and at least if they lose in a controlled setting they will be able to understand and accept their weakness, then train harder to do something about it.” Shin blushed bashfully and rubbed the back of his head. "Wow, I didn't think of it like that." He didn't think the Kage would care so much about something so small. But Kenshin was right in the mind of Shin.
“...But, you will not have to worry about that, as you are no simple Genin…" Shin seemed confused. ."..Allow me to be the first to greet you as Shin, Chunin of Sunagakure." Shin beamed again, for like the third time in his meeting. Shin thought that, like all starting shinobi, he would be starting as a genie. However, it seemed that his skills allowed him to skip over that and into the next rank over. Although bummed that he wouldn't be partaking in the chunin exams, Shin was very excited to start as a chunin.
Kenshin explained that the shinobi would be getting free apartments as a shinobi of Suna, he would just have to get it set up. "Thank you, Kazekage. You won't be disappointed." He would exit the morgue, and head over to Ban to get his apartment set up. However, as soon as he shut the door, Shin had a burst of energy that made him want to shout in jubilation. But the hospital was not the best place to do that. So he would just have to wait till he got to the new apartment.
Ban had shown him the way to his new apartment and given him the keys. Now, all Shin had to do was gather his stuff from his previous home. He entered the building belonging to the "Lost Winds." He ran to the top floor and started throwing the four pairs of clothes he had and some memorabilia that he gathered from when he was an academy student.
"So I take it the meeting went well?" Jun appeared from down the stairs. Shin nodded enthusiastically. "Oh yeah, it did! I'm a chunin of Sunakagure!" Shin cheerfully declared. Jun looked happy for Shin. "That's incredible! How did you pass genin?" Shin shrugged, "I guess he could just feel it."
Jun's smile started to wither. "Are you still going to be able to live with us?" Shin gave a nervous reply, not wanting to hurt her feelings, "Well, no. The Kaze Kage gave me a place to live while I work as a shinobi." He quickly added, "But I'll still be able to help pay for things as a Chunin." Jun gave a weak smile, "Yeah..." Shin, reading the room, quickly gave her a tight hug. "Don't worry, I'll miss you guys." She chuckled and gave a hug back.
The front door of the new apartment was a bit worn but still intact. Nothing Shin wasn't used to. He put the key into the lock and opened the wooden door. The room was a single room with a mattress, a small stove, sink and a table. Along the wall was a wooden closet door. All things considered, Shin would call this an upgrade from what he was used to. Things weren't luxurious on the street. He would put his bag down and lay on the mat, relieving himself of all his stress. "Wow... I'm a chunin." Shin would say to an empty ceiling.

The Ragdoll would watch Shin leave with a small smirk on his face... oh yes, everything was coming together nicely.
