Chuunin Exams Pt 2: Zeo and Gonk vs Stein!

Letters were sent to each contestant. Each of which said the same thing. Mission Critical, S-rank Missing Ninja is loose in Hoshigakure, last spotted in the training grounds, Report to site Immediately!

Stein was waiting in a clearing a good 50 meters around him in all directions for he was in the middle of it. The Lab Coat was gone. He wore his black and grey stitched short sleeve shirt. Now Stein's build was deceptive, the threads inside of him made him look about average in build, if you were a carpenter building houses all day everyday for a good twenty years. It was all apart of his ruse. He had to do this as apart of his community service for getting caught doing transplants in Hoshigakure. Who knew doing them was illegal, equally so to get them, but yet if one did it on themselves from organs they bought, it was .... well seemed essentially a loophole.

Stein was Facing towards the entrance of the training grounds. It was the only way into the gated lot. Now while he had set up the letters to try to sound as official and urgent as possible, this was all apart of the chuunin exams that was being held today, Stein wondered if the two would even show up, but he would make sure they would try, His Display of power was already up. The icky feeling of death clung to the air. a Sinister grin on his face, Now he was not doing this for any effect other than to get the boys attention if they were to show up. And hopefully get them to go all out against him.

Stein had a pair of bells, he decided to place them with his other ninja equipment....Inside of his body of course, keeping them away from his organs obvsiouly as not to puncture them, but he did like to keep a kunai or two ready under the skin, Inside his forearms, deep enough down not to have them leave any impressions on the outside of his skin, each forearm contained two Kuani, one he liked to use to bring to his hand through his palm, and another he wanted to fire off like a laser, would be cool would it not be?

On his black pants he had on each leg one Ninja Pouch, they were empty but he liked them there for show, a front to fool the opponent. Standing in what appeared to be black leather boots that went up about to the middle of his shins. The white hair seemingly matted down, he used red clay for a slightly tinted red effect to look like he had blood stuck in his hair. No matter how scary or intimidating an opponent is, a Ninja should always respond ready and willing to fight.

Stein had already set up the area with a few traps for the children they will have to overcome, however they would be later revealed just before they were to be put into effect.

Battle Info:

Zeo got the letter shortly before morning. It was unusual.. He felt like going out to eat to celebrate his good grade on the exam. The one part of the test he had dreaded turned out to be far easier than he thought. Still, he volunteered to do the other exercise as well. He was in the mood for fish, but soon got the letter for an S-rank emergency mission?!

Supper would have to wait. He grabbed his sword, gear and other materials and jumped out of the window to get to the training grounds. All the while he had the letter in his hand and shoved it into his pocket to keep it safe. Many new shinobi were showing up due to the chunin exams. Who knew why a rogue would show up there of all time. As he made his way there, his brain began to finally process ... something about this wasn't adding up. Why would a Genin, no matter how skilled Zeo was, get an S-rank mission. Even with Hoshi hurting for assistance, it wasn't wise and far more qualified ninja able to handle it. Unless everyone was deployed, but then things would be in much more chaos today now. It was quiet now but he knew something was not right... There was no alarm, no evacuation, and no other shinobi around searching outside of the normal. Regardless, an S rank mission for a Genin was unheard of unless the world was coming to an end. This, clearly was not the case.

Still, he made his way to the training grounds. As he made his way there, he saw another odd person. He looked like a fellow Genin. While he wasn't sure what village he was, he didn't look familiar. He was running to the same place while Zeo took the high ground, hopping from rooftop to rooftop.

"Hey Wait!!" Zeo shouted to the fellow Genin.

Though already in the vacinity of the training grounds, he finally caught up and landed with a elegant landing, his kimono shirt flowing around him. "Were you given that mission too? The Rogue? Listen... something isn't right and..."

Zeo stopped as he sensed the curling bloodlust and pressure from the air around him. More than enough to send a chill down his spine. He turned to soon find the mysterious white and red haired man in the clearing-- The training ground, it was Zeo's sanctuary filled with the lake, hills and forest. However now... it was not welcoming at all as this man's malice was almost polluting it just by standing there.

Zeo instinctively took a step back, but no further. This guy was clearly dangerous, but he had no way of telling if HE was the rogue or not, beyond the crazy appearance he had. A drop of sweat fell from Zeo's brow as he didn't dare take his eyes off the mysterious man. He couldn't tell why but he was creepy in many regards, despite how calmly he stood there. It was terrifying... and he didn't even really get why.

But like any rookie-- or idiot-- the stranger genin Zeo just met decided to charge and try to attack him! Was he suicidal?!

"No-Wait-Don't!!" Zachary warned. "You can't charge in blind!

Despite his unwillingness to advance to the stranger, he couldn't the genin run to get killed! The first rule was to gather intelligence. To charge in blindly would only endanger yourself and others. But he had no real way to stop him!

For now, he could just watch... and strategize. If this person was indeed an enemy, he needed every bit of terrifying information he could. While he didn't like the idea, if this foolish person wanted to risk going into danger to 'test the waters', it would give him an insight how to fight this person...

Zeo Stats:

And so it had begun, Stein watched as the two boys rounded the corner one after the other, while the first back stepped almost instantly, the other charged fearlessly, this one seemed he was closer in power than Stein thought he might be, and Instantly the aura turned darker as a slight swirl took place, and Stein's eyes which was not hidden behind glasses as they normally were, whirred to life as a red and black color took over them, a design unique to his version of these eyes took place. Three acute triangles that had been tilted all in the same direction, with three suture looking lines that went down each triangle and cutting across as if reaching to connect into three circles. This was when Stein would begin to speak.

"So of all the ninja in Hoshigakure , they sent me two delectable looking Morseles, was not what I had expected, but this will do, before I go destroying this entire village and all in it" Stein got louder with the last eight words just before he erupted into a bolsterous laugh tilting his head back. At this point Gonk should have stopped his advance either due to Steins reveal of the Eternal Mangekeyo Sharingan, or due to the frightened boy who shouted for the other to stop. Stein would lower his head when he was done laughing and looked at them both. His sharp eyes recognized something about the one further back. While fear held him still, he was still analyzing the situation. Until called out somehow on the charede, Stein continued to keep it up.

Tilting his head in intrest, one boy by his looks was one of the rarer clans floating around, Hoshigaki, the other he could not point down if the boy was a clan or not, however Stein had not met a Hoshigaki before, only knew of them from stories " I bet your dna is fabulous, can not wait to cut you open and see what makes that shark physiology of yours tick as a humanoid, Oh to replicate and play around with such fancies would be quite the scientific adventure" This was where Stein blatently admited to being interested in the different dna of the world, which was not a ruse, that was true, however he may not have originally went at it in such a sadisitic manner if he did not have a plan in motion.

See Stein was breifed on what they wanted to see how the Ninjas did, Innovativeness and Inginuity of their own techniques as well as playing witness if two strangers can quickly observe compatability and work together in an effective manner and not just having the two of them take off rampshot over the other while trying to do their own thing.

"Well if this will be all, we can begin!" And at the word Begin Stein took off at a full tilt run towards both boys. His eyes scanning ahead and reading the situation to prepare himself for anything they may try to throw his way. Meanwhile since the start of his run, Stein formed handsigns to prepare a jutsu so he could use it when he got close enough to the boys.

Zeo's eyes widened not only at the foolhardy actions of the shark ninja-- but also the fact the enemy was stationary and his words. However, what really surprised him was when the sun finally didn't catch the tint of his glasses. Zeo saw as the eyes glowed red, revealing a new pattern completely. A doujutsu. But so much worse...

The fabled and legendary Sharigan eye. While he didn't understand the mechanics of the Mangekiyo Sharigan, he knew enough to know it was bad. Everyone in the shinobi world and their grandma knew what the Sharigan was-- a doujutsu capable of powerful genjutsu as well as the ability to analyse and mimic enemy ninjutsu completely. It was so well known and fabled, the darkest of shinobi would gladly murder to get a pair of eyes from an uchiha enemy. He even knew they could evolve into what he now saw. While unable to tell what that version would do, this was bad! A man with the bloodlust of a true murderer was in possession of a legendary doujutsu and was targeting them.

Fear, while still there, knew enough how to at least get clear and with luck, save his 'new friend'.

As the man charged with his threat for them, Zeo quickly formed hand signs. Ox... Snake... Ram... Tiger. He raised a hand upward with a confrontation sign, casting his chakra out into the air. "Suiton-- Hidden Mist Jutsu!" he declared defiantly. His fear soon became calm, steady resolve at the white-haired stranger as he declared his move.

Suddenly as if out of nowhere, the air became thicker and less visible-- the water moisture multiplying to soon create a wide-area of mist that began to obscure visibility.

Zeo didn't know everything about the Sharigan, but he did know it depended on eyesight. So to evade its effects, it was important to obscure their eyesignt. While dangerous to 'fight blind' , it was better than giving him his advantage with the doujutsu.

The area soon filled with thick mist. Before it grew too thick to see completely, Zachary rushed in. Forming one more hand sign under the cover of the mist-- Bird-- he focused chakra into his feet. The quiet footsteps. A cheap trick but made his movements completely silent inside the mist-- enough to keep the enemy from pinpointing his whereabouts outside of sight.

He didn't sprint to the enemy, but what he did was smarter. Before the shark ninja comrade could be completely swallowed up by the mist-- Zachary reached him in time, made a silent gesture, and grabbed a hold of his shoulder enough for him to give pause. They needed to use their heads as well as their attacks. Had he not done something, the shark kid would have charged right into the enemy's clutches. They needed a plan now, especially since the enemy was capable of reading their movements. While the mist would confuse and successfully hide them with the veil of mist and chakra-- it wouldn't last forever.

"Hey. Are you crazy?" Zachary whispered harshly but quietly enough to make his point. "The guy is a psycho with a bloodline limit that can meet any foe. We can't charge in blindly. I know you don't know me and I don't know you, but this is fishy...." Zeo stopped himself as he realized the odd choice of words. "Er, you know what I mean? But right now we need to use our heads. If we rush in blindly, we both will end up dead." he explained. He glanced around, being sure the mist didn't give away any movement of an advance attack.

With any luck, this person was capable of using more stealth than he was just impulsive to attack the enemy. Either way, Zeo knew there was more going on than appeared.

Stein saw the mist sprout and he would smirk, While his eyes may not be able to see into the mist, if neither boy could use something to see out of the mist Stein could use this to his own advantage, He would release the handseal he held and the roots of the local trees would grow and raise from the ground and sprout some smaller trees, Stein himself rode a root up above the mist, however knowing the position that the Sharky one was at, and noting the boy from Hoshi running to him before the mist got to strong. Stein would control the roots around that area to rise up in a prison like structure that allowed only two directions for the boys to go, Down or up. However with Stein already above the Mist he would see if the boys came up above the mist, Stein had already had another set of handseals formed and readied, With roots close by that gives him wood to work with for following techniques.

So if the boys did jump above the mist, Stein would use the Four Pillar Prison to try and catch them in mid air and wrap their arms to their bodies. Who knows if this would be successful, But if it was, this could likely be the end of the exams all that soon, however he belived the boys could be innovative enough to escape from such a simple trick, and if done right could give the boys a perch above the mist. Stein wondered as his red eye glared down, just how the boys would react. The Water that the boy had been spiralling out would just fill up the prison like bowl that Stein had made with the roots. this would surely force at least one of the boys to jump up or the Shark boy to cancel his technique. The Stats of the Four Pillar Prison would be at Ninety each. Zeo would feel the effects of the Technique draining Ninety Ap from him and giving fourty five back to Stein if the boys stayed near the technique.

Zeo was doing his best to observe. For now he was glad he used his wits to create a proper defense against the enemy's visual prowess. However that didn't last long as he felt the ground rumble. Something was growing in the ground. It took him a moment but he soon saw it-- the entire terrain changing. "Trees?" Zeo said in mild surprise.

That was a trademark to those of the Senju clan, another famous clan that were equals to the Uchiha. This made his mind reel. He wielded both Kekkei Genkais to the Uchiha and the Senju, which was near impossible! However, it did confirm the theory Zeo had. "Great... it's just what I was afraid of. This guy is a hybrid. A mutation using organs of dead shinobi to increase his own abilities. He probably stole his eyes and other parts from enemies. it's the only reason he could use this kind of jutsu at the same time." he said to his new ally.

More was going on than what appeared. With the mist, they were both in the dark for the moment. But it was when his ally Gonk brought up a plan to get out of the 'bowl they were trapped in now as the water lapped at his legs. As he shared his plan, Zeo nodded. "It's Zeo by the way... and sure, I'll follow your lead. But I also got a plan too. Regardless I'll cover you," Zeo explained softly to keep their voices hidden.

Forming hand signs, Zeo began to enact his plan.

Gonk was able to bust them out of the shell and Zeo emerged as well, hopping out of the hole and looking to find the enemy on a pillar of the wood he created. Gonk was the first to strike, using an immense display of strength to break down the trees, presuming he could. Zeo also got ready for his own attack as he reached into his kimono sleeves--- and soon produced a series of watery shuriken!

Intending to aid Gonk in his assault, Zeo threw the watery shuriken from range, intending to catch the enemy if he attempted to jump away or move towards them. Either way, Zeo's accuracy with shuriken was pretty accurate and his success rate was high. If he could hit him, it would cause severe damage! True to his initial profession, Zeo was a shinobi who excelled in ranged attacks.

There was several things that was happening, As Stein noted the movement at the base of the root he was using , he could immediately tell that the Zeo he saw was different. He had already lost half his chakra at least. Stein knowing quite a bit, it was save to assume one of two things, either something big was now hiding in the mist, or that was a clone. Well Steins handseals he already had formed would be added by one more seal, but he redirected the techniques location. using the Root he was standing on to create the four pillar prison around the genin, however the added handseal made the prison that much harder. And making the Prison drain that much more from the Zeo, if he was lower already, if he knocked him out, likely anything he used would dispell, or reveal being a clone itself. Now due to the prison even with the punch that woulda dropped the tree, it would stay standing, and the shuriken if thrown would be blocked by the wall above them. Even if they were not Stein would move back behind the root to hide his next set of hand signs, preparing to use somethign he viewed rather spectacular. He wanted to build up a little more before unleashing it though.
