Bomb in the bath house

mission :

Nasu had woken up to another scroll containing mission details. He had been on so many recently he hasn't gotten a break. And just like every other time Nasu was paired up with none other than Kane. Nasu had breakfast and opened the scroll. Although it's a B rank mission this was going to be easy. They just had to get rid of the paper bombs in the bath house. Nasu would be able to see that paper bombs chakra using his sharingan. That would make them quick to locate and retrieve. The hardest part was going to be not getting caught. Nasu was supposed to meet Kain at the block before the bathhouse. If they were too close to the bathhouse and they were just standing around it could start to look really suspicious really quickly. Nasu understood that though so he had no complaints. It was a gloomy day in kiri. The clouds were all grey looking like it would rain soon and the mist is heavy and harder to see through than normal. It made walking there less fun because nothing was going on. Most people aren't going out so there's just nothing to look at while walking. Some shops were not even open. Nasu didn't know that people could just choose not to open their shops but he didn't have to run them so he couldn't say much about them. The closer Nasu got the more hungry he got. He had only eaten a light breakfast that morning so he was craving some food. It worked out well though because there was a bakery coming up. This would give Nasu an excuse to himself for getting a pastry. Nasu opened the doors to the building and the smell of warm bread coming out of the oven was the best thing ever. You could also smell all the different kinds of pastries. Nasu was particularly interested in the chocolate croissant. It looked delicious. Nasu had ordered one and ate it one the way to the meet up point. Nasu had arrived way earlier than he was supposed to so he just ate his croissant in peace and waited for Kain to show up so they could get a head start on the mission.

Kain awoke in his bed laying on the floor. It had finally given up the ghost and what had passed for frames had given out throughout the night. He sat up finding it much easier now since the mattress couldn’t touch the floor from a suspended area now, and stepped over the bed frame and walked into the kitchen. He opened the fridge and freezer pulling out his gallon of blood and his ⅕ of whiskey sitting both on the table. Lighting up a cigarette he poured the whiskey into his flask and warmed up a glass of blood before putting both backs in their places. He walked over and sat down on the old recliner he had found in an alley and looked out through the hole in the wall. He watched the kids in the street play some kind of game he had never seen before not that he had seen any games really. Except for who was the better killer with his father. But he watched the kids throw a ball at the one with a stick and if he hit the ball he took off running in a circle around the rest of the kids. This had become one of his normal morning routines. Sitting in the chair drinking his blood and trying to figure out just what the hell these kids were doing. It seemed like it was a different game every day but with similar rules. Last week they were kicking a ball and running around in a circle.

Once his glass was empty Kain stood up and washed it out in the sink before walking over and putting his jacket on and walking out. He pretty much always kept his boots on since he was not nearly brave enough to walk around this house barefoot. He had a mission today with that guy Nasu. this would be their third mission together in as many days, and was starting to wonder if the higher ups were thinking about making them a team or something officially. He found it odd but he thought he would be ok with that. He had only really met two people in the village so far that he actually didn’t mind talking to them. Ok one person that he actually didn’t mind talking to, but he had at least stopped seeing Nasu has walking food.

Kain walked down the street and most of the people got out of his way. Only the other guys with really bad reputations wouldn’t get out of the way but they still didn’t bump into him either. After all, no one wanted to make the monster at the end of the street angry. It didn’t take him long to get over to the other island where he was supposed to meet up with Nasu. their mission today was a covert one. Someone had planted bombs all over the bathhouse and they were supposed to get rid of them. For Kain sounded like a pretty easy job since he would get to take a bath for free at the bath house while doing his job.

Kain arrived at the bathhouse and noticed Nasu standing around the area. He walked over to him “So you ready for this bath today I hear they got the hottest water in all the village” he would ask Nasu.

“Really. I didn't know this bath house was known for anything. Are we even allowed to take a bath though. It seemed like a get in get out kinda mission to me. But I guess we can take our time with it.” Nasu would chat with Kain as they walked closer to the bath house. “Okay bath time it is.” The bath house looked nice from the outside. It was clean and the wood it was made of looked like it shined a bit. There were two doorways, one covered by a blue cloth and one covered by a pink cloth. It was obvious that it was used to split up the genders. Nasu went through the blue side and walked down the hall. The inside of the building looked just as good as the outside. They really must put effort into keeping this palace clean. The wood was shining just like the outside did and there were decorations and pictures along the walls. The hallway opened up into a big room. There were a bunch of cubbies with boxes in them along the walls. Nasu picked one out and started putting all of his things in there. He had laid in all his ninja gear and then started to change. He threw all his clothes into the basket and grabbed that towel that was in it when he got there. He wrapped it around his waist and went in. The place was better than you could expect. When you walk in you're already hot even though you haven't touched the water yet. There was steam all around you but not thick that you couldn't see well in it. Nasu walked over to one of the showers and rinsed himself. He then went right to the hot spring itself. The water felt like it was at the perfect temperature. When you got in it the water wasn't super hot. It was just hot enough to where it wouldn't burn at all but it would feel very relaxing. Nasu would then wait for Kain to get into the hot spring as well. Surprisingly there wasn't anyone else on the men's side of the bath house right now so Kain and Nasu would be able to talk in peace. Once Kain got in he would talk to him about how nice this place was and then slowly get into the mission. “So Kain, what's your plan for this mission? I'm going to guess the paper bombs aren't just in the open or they would have all been removed.”

Kain followed Nasu up to the door and leaned over to the doorman. Kain flashed him his badge and whispered “We are going to start with the man like we are simply wanting a bath, in 30 minutes close down the women for cleaning or whatever and we will move over from around back and get in to check that one out as well.” The man gave Kain a nod and both he and Nasu walked on in. Kain followed Nasu over to the changing area and picked out a locker next to Nasu. Kain took his leather trench coat off and carefully hanged it up in the locker. He then took off his dark purple tank top and tossed it in on top of his boots. He then dropped his pants without any decency whatsoever and tossed them into the locker as well. He grabbed his towel and threw it over his shoulder and walked over to the showers to rinse off.

He then followed Nasu to the pool and laid down in the water. “This feels amazing” he would almost sigh out in complete relaxation. After a few minutes, he would float over to the side next to Nasu and sit down in the water. Nasu would then ask what his plan was. “Well first I didn’t bring one of those brush things so can you get my back for me” Kain would ask holding out some soap.

“Well, the guy at the door is going to shut down the women’s side in about another 20 min so we have that long to find the ones here and disarm them. Then we will sneak over to the other side from that corner and check that side as well” Kain told him as he rinsed the soap back off.

Nasu was rubbing Kain’s back while they discussed what to do. It was as simple as finding them and then moving on. “Finding these probably isn't going to be easy. If they set it up and gave a threat they should know ninja would come to disarm it. That being said they are probably hidden well. Now it's time to let you in on something though. My full name is Nasu Uchiha. If you don't know, I have the sharingan. Because they all paper bombs give off chakra, I can see them using my sharingan.” Nasu had a feeling that this wasn't going to be his last mission with Kane so his sharingan wouldn't stay hidden for too long anyway. Nasu also trusts Kain because he seemed like a really chill person. Plus he obviously had some sort of secret of his own. “Give me a minute and I'll search the room for all of them.” Nasu activated his sharingan. His eyes turned red and 3 tomoe appeared in each one of his eyes. Nasu started scanning the room. Starting from the direction he was staring in he would turn his head up and down and each bit of wall and would move his head around the place as well to see every bit possible. He would then check the ceiling and the floor as well. “Well there are 10 paper bombs in this room.” Nasu turned to Kain and looked him right in the eyes before he continued. “It will be hard for me to mark them for you unless you allow me to use a genjutsu on you.” Nasu didn't wait for an answer from Kain. He just went right for it. Nasu activated his sharingan genjutsu on Kain. This genjutsu allows Nasu to create illusions in the mind of the target. This genjutsu doesn't hurt the target at all. It only makes them either slowly go insane due to not knowing what's going on or Nasu can use abilities to harm the target. In this case though Nasu just decided to use it to have Kain be able to see where all the Paper bombs were. You see the 5 to the left you deal with those ones. I'll take the 5 on the right and then we can relax until the girls room has been closed. Nasu got up and went right to getting all the paper bombs off. There were 3 just on the edges of the wall. Nasu would grab a kunai from his ninja gear to cut the wall open so he could grab the 3 of them. After he made a tiny slit in the wall Nasu then grabbed out all the paper bombs and then disarmed them. The other two were right under the hot spring itself. So Nasu did the same thing again. He made a slit around a plank on the floor and pulled it up. Nasu then just dropped down and he grabbed out the remaining two paper bombs and disarmed them as well. After putting the plank back in, Nasu would get back into the hot spring and would wait for Kain to finish up as well.

Kain did not see the information load coming as Nasu told him he had something called a Sharingan. The name sounded crazy, and if he had learned anything over his long life so far is that the crazier the name the more powerful it tended to be. “Very well” is what Kain started to say before he was cut off and placed inside of a genjutsu. It was strange normally he would have never agreed to it, but at the same time, he never saw it coming. Which meant that those eyes of Nasu’s were able to use visual genjutsu. Kain made a note of it in case he ever had to kill another Uchiha or went up against another stange eye like this one, to not look them in the eyes.

Once Nasu had broken the genjutsu Kain went the way Nasu showed him and took down the three paper bombs disarming them as he went. It was easy to work and once he was done he slipped back into the pool again. Nasu was getting back in about the same time and Kain felt like he should share a bit about himself as well. “Tell me Nasu how old do you think I am?”

Once Nasu answered the question Kain would turn to look at him “I’m 65 years old, just so you know since we are probably going to end up becoming team members it looks like. I’m nearly immortal” Kain would then drop the conversation and go back to soaking in the bath for the rest of the time ignoring Nasu till it was time to go.

Kain told Nasu that he was practically immortal. Nasu had so many questions. Everytime he asked a question though Kain just seemed to not listen and kept it to himself. And Kain being 65 years old was definitely news to Nasu. That was a bit weird considering he looked no older than 20 ish maybe at most. Once Nasu realized he wasn't going to get anything out of Kain he just waited in the bath for a bit longer using the most of his time. After a couple more minutes Nasu and Kain had to hop out to go to the woman's side and search over there for paper bombs. Nasu would hop out and change his clothes. He would grab all his gear and put the towel in a bin for dirty towels. He then went towards the women's room to start the search there. Nasu activated his sharingan to find all the paper bombs again. Once searching the room he found 7 more. He once again would use sharingan genjutsu or Kain to show him where all the paper bombs were. Once Kain and Nasu had finished retrieving them all Nasu would tell Kain he had to head home. If Nasu was interrupted he would leave the bath house.

Kain simply ignored Nasu’s questions he had told him everything he was going to tell him. Nasu told him a tiny bit about his abilities and Kain did the same in response. They both knew very little about what the other could do and Kain knew that it would probably drive Nasu crazy not knowing more than it would him. Mostly since Kain’s tiny bit was a lot more enticing than Nasu’s. Not to say that Kain was not extremely curious as to just what all those eyes could do, and he hoped that what Nasu had shown was not all or he would be extremely let down by it.

However, once the time had elapsed and they heard the guy come in and lock the doors Kain and Nasu both went over and got redressed in their normal clothes once more. They then went to the back corner of the bathhouse and slipped between the walls to get to the other side. Kain waited for Nasu to do his thing and once he had found them all he once again found himself inside of a genjutsu created copy of the bathhouse where Nasu showed him where every one of the paper bombs was located. Repeating the same steps as the last room they split up and took different sides of the room. “Tell me Nasu do you ever think about just what they do over here” Kain would ask Nasu while disarming a few of the traps.

Once they were done Kain and Nasu both headed back over to the man’s side so as not to look suspicious and walked out. Kain gave a nod to the doorman once more “I will have to come back again when I’m not busy and really enjoy it” Kain told the man as they two took off. Kain made his way down an ally way after he and Nasu separated. He had started to grow tired of the cow blood and he wanted something more. He had been working pretty hard for this village, and in doing so he had picked out a few good hunting grounds where no one would miss someone if they disappeared for a while.

Kain stalked a likely pray down one of these ally ways making sure no one was following. Once the man turned and went into a basement Kain followed. Using his hearing to make sure that there was only one heartbeat in the room. He turned and locked the door behind him. The man turned to face Kain he was clearly homeless and was squatting in the basement of this building. His clothes were ragged but he still had some fight in him. Kain thought that it would be a good meal as he closed the distance. “Who are you” he stammered out as Kain just kept walking closer and the man kept moving back.

Kain’s eyes glowed in the darkness of the room and his pale skin reflected what little light there was. The man stood no chance as Kain had picked his pray out carefully for the past few days. The man saw the fangs fall down in Kain’s mouth and he started to panic. Yelling for help, but Kain had already checked and there was no one around to hear him since the basement was underground and belonging to an abandoned building with thick walls. “Now now there is no need in that” Kain would whisper to the man as he bit down and severed every last drop.

Having cleaned up and walked back up to the door, Kain shut and locked the door behind him having thrown the corpse on the small fire the man had going in the fireplace. It would take it a while to burn down but it would be almost impossible to identify the man. Plus it would probably take days before anyone found him. He walked away from the building making sure no one was able to see him through the thick mist. On his way home he thought about Ai and how she would probably be disappointed in him for what he did, but it was his nature. He needed to feed to stay strong. Plus he had made sure of his target the man he killed was named Tommy and he had killed three people last year in a house robbery and gotten away with it. He was only serving justice for that crime. Since why turn him in when he can make a good meal for Kain. He walked back home in peace and full for the first time since coming to this village.
