- Zayrian Kaguya wrote:Zayrian Kaguya wrote:All morning, Zay had been mentally preparing himself for finally being in the presence of the Hogokage. Although there had been plenty of times when the kage would come to the academy, or assign missions personally to genin teams, there had never been an opportunity when Zay would be able to train in such close proximity to him. He was never one to get star struck, yet still he wanted to ensure that the first impression was a good one. He outfitted himself in a clean hoodie, fresh pair of pants, and slung his shinobi cross body over his head so that the strap rested firmly upon his shoulder. It was his classic shinobi attire, but he made sure he didn't wear a wrinkled, rugged, or raggedy version of it. Again, first impression was everything.
Zayrian bid his mother and sister farewell for the day after a quick morning catch up with them. They did their small talk, shared a light breakfast, and concluded the talk with a subtle hint of how proud of him they were. A very encouraging way for the young man to start his day. And with that, he exited his house and made his way out from the residential side of Hoshigakure and onto the shinobi side. Specifically towards the Water Gardens. As he traversed the village, Zayrian couldn't help but think about the statement his mother and sister made. Their reminder of how proud of him they were. It was a nice feeling, overcoming adversity as a child and molding himself into a young shinobi with potential. If only Zay knew what his true potential was; but that would likely come on the day that he would finally awaken his bloodline.
Having finally arrived at the entrance of the Water Gardens, Zay’s eyes panned across the training grounds. There were a handful of shinobi taking their time to train in front of the eyes of the mighty Hogokage. Some practicing ninjutsu, some taijutsu, and anything else. Zay himself had only been well versed in taijutsu. That would likely be his practice for the day. Although there was potential for him to learn some basic ninjutsu and maybe even some katon techniques as well. He would make his way over to the crowd and into an unoccupied space. It was open, with tiled grounds and few trees surrounding. Perfect. He’d begin by stretching and loosening his muscles. He sat on the floor and spread his legs out in front of him. His hands would then reach out to his feet, gripping the toes of his shoes. He held this position for a number of seconds until he felt his calves limbering up. He’d follow this stretch up with a number of others until finally standing back up. Then he’d warm up by running to get his heart rate elevated. And so he conducted “suicides” by running from one end of his platform to the other. He did this a number of times before he stopped in the center and felt good enough to attempt some techniques he had been studying. The first was a simple taijutsu technique, with origins in Konohagakure. However it was such a simple and well executed attack that its influence had spread across the various villages in the world. To begin, Zay had assumed the initial position the technique called for. He planted himself firmly on the ground, with each hand tightly gripping the floor beneath him. His right leg was bent and propped up so that his knee was in line with his hands, while his left leg was anchored and outstretched behind him. He would hold this position for several seconds to get his body used to it. Following this he would return back to his normal fully upright stance. He would repeat this cycle a handful of times, increasing his speed with each iteration until he got this down into one swift and fluid motion.
When he would complete this, he would practice the next motion: a leaping lunge into the air from the planted position. He started by directing his chakra flow into his feet and fingertips. When they were filled with a sufficient amount, with an explosion of energy he leaped off the ground and into the air. Then he would land back into his planted position. By doing so, he could feel that satisfying “burn” in his biceps, forearms, and calves. The strain was quite rewarding. And so Zay continued to practice that prone into leaping motion repeatedly, the same as he did before. The idea here was to target muscle memory and get his body accustomed to moving in such a way. So starting from an upright position, he would go through each motion. Standing, prone and planted, then the leap.
Once he nailed this down, it was time for the final action: the actual attack. With this next leap, he would focus his efforts on maneuvering into a striking motion. The first time he attempted this, he would start off simple with a kick. And so as he leaped into the air he swung his back leg up and forward into the air in front of and above him. With the first try, he completed the motion yet didn’t get enough air and force into the kick as he would like. Thus he would repeat the whole process all over again. With this attempt, his kick was slightly off center therefore he landed a tad off balanced. Stumbling when both feet hit the ground, he was determined to land it perfectly next time. And he did. With one swooping motion from standing to the final kick, Zayrian executed the perfect leaf rising wind. Having completed this, Zay would then try to incorporate different attacks with the technique. The subsequent try included a thrown elbow. Following this, a punch. And then finally a knee thrust. He would even try the various attacks out on one of the neighboring trees by his training platform. With each successful attempt, he would side eye the Hogokage and his fellow shinobi to see if anyone had been spectating him. If so, he would feel a whirl of excitement stir up inside him which would push him to train even harder.
Having attempted the technique so many times, Zayrian was covered in sweat. But that perspiration was a mark of accomplishment which would motivate him to train even harder.
(WC: 1070, 750 towards Leaf Rising Wind)
Wiping the sweat off his brow, Zayrian would get back to his feet with a look of determination bleeding from his eyes. His eyes shifted from shinobi to shinobi, it would seem as if some were working individually but most were working in pairs and teams. Zay scoffed lightly at the idea of everyone already having their group, but treated it like a chip on his shoulder. It would urge him to push himself, even if his training partner was just a tree. But for now, he would look at that tree with all the malice in his heart. He knew, for certain, that he would have to do some serious damage to the tree in order to make a good impression in this training session. His mind recalled some of the scrolls he had read during a session within the Hoshigakure Library. One of which, would be an elegant solution to the issue at hand.
"The amplifier.." he thought to himself, "How could I forget. That would be perfect..."
And with that, Zay readied his attention to the tree at hand and stood before it in his eager pose. To begin, he closed his eyes and visualized the chakra flowing within his body. He knew where he needed to direct it in order to get the most bang for his buck. He would need to start at his hands, where he would form the seals. Just two, quite simple of a technique. First came the tiger, quickly followed by the rat. And when the rat seal was complete, he channeled all of his chakra into his finger tips and his feet. This was the exact same thing he had done when he begun the process of learning the leaf wising wind just moments ago. Reason being, it was effective! Now he would quickly drop to his palms with one foot propped in front, and the other angled behind. His front leading leg would be oriented towards the tree, so that when he would leap up and forward his target was straight ahead. As his foot made impact with the tree, the small dent which had been created before from Zay's previous impact with it had now expanded into a wound with depth. Small, but direct improvement in terms of his raw power output. Smiling to himself, he landed back onto the platform and stood upright, admiring the damage he had done to the tree. Today was proving to be quite fruitful, even if he wasn't harboring the attention of the Hogokage. Now that he had begun his training, he was so focused that he forgot his intentions were to impress anyone. Instead, his whole outlook had shifted. All he wanted at this point was to keep training.

Having focused primarily on his offensive techniques thus far, Zayrian knew he should invest some time into his defensive abilities as well. Recognizing that he did not know many, if any of the shinobi participating in the training session, Zay figured he would create some clones and use them to attack himself. With a simple ram seal and the focusing of some chakra, two clones would spawn half a meter from him. One to his left, and one to his right, yet both standing directly in front of him. The three would nod, and immediately the two clones would lunge at Zay. To begin his defensive measures, he would start with evasive maneuvers. As the clones would throw a series of punches and kicks towards Zay's direction, his response was just getting out of the way. He dashed backwards, squatted down, leaned to the side, whatever else he needed to do in order to dodge attacks. As this continued on, there was a period in time when the attacks came to a pause. Zay looked at each clone, and decided it was time to experiment with blocking attacks instead of just avoiding them.
This would begin on a very basic level, one clone at a time. A singular punch would be thrown at the stationary Zay, and he would meet it with an intercepting movement. His right arm would swing upwards, with his forearm blocking the punch from making any direct contact onto his body. It was easy enough. Following this, a kick would be thrown by a clone. Zay would again pinpoint the trajectory of the kick, and effectively check it with his respective shin. As this basic routine persisted, the second clone now jumped in. Zay would meet the two by simply blocking and evading their attacks. As simple as it seemed, it was quite necessary for him to adapt to this style of fighting. Not always would he be on the offensive end, and he most certainly knew he was unable to avoid every attack. Thus the use of these blocking mechanisms was actually necessary.
However now that he had exhausted some quite basic techniques. His next focus was to attempt something much more unique. Zay was quite aware of his bloodline, his last name made it apparent. And so naturally, Zay was privy to the fact that his DNA would grant him certain innate abilities. "Shikotsumyaku..." he thought to himself as he reflected on some of the basic techniques he had read up on. Although his aim was to perfect his taijutsu today, he also desired to become a bit more well versed with the things he could naturally do. And so, he would begin his attempt. He closed his eyes and sensed his chakra flowing from limb to limb, reaching out to every corner of his body. It felt so natural, and the first affinity that he detected within himself was burning passionately. It was red, it was hot, it was fire. Yet that was something that Zay hadn't investigated thoroughly yet. Instead, after searching a bit more within himself he felt the chakra manifesting not just within his spirit but within his bones. He felt almost as if they were something that could be freely manipulated. By focusing a bit more, he could sense them swelling within his body.
"Ahhh" he groaned, as he fell to his hands and knees. And with that, the clones would fade away. His chakra control had been interrupted and instead all he would focus on was this tingling, sharp, painful sensation within his bones. He began sweating profusely, more than he had been at any other point during his training. It also felt like his bones were been pulled from outside of his body. As he grimaced in pain, his chakra control subsided and so did that intense feeling. By this point though, his heart rate and breathing had accelerated to the extent that caused him to hyperventilate. Realizing he had been undergoing a panic attack, he attempted to clear his mind and divert his attention solely to his breathing. With time, his breathing slowed and his heart rate got under control. He was no longer sweating. "What in the hell..." he thought to himself having just experienced that slight degree of bone manipulation. "What's the use in having this ability if it hurts so damn much?"
But instead of wallowing in self pity, he furrowed his brow and tried to push himself again. Physical toughness was only half the battle; he knew he would need to develop some mental fortitude and numb himself to the pain if he truly wanted to exploit his DNA. And so while on his hands and knees, he attempted to channel his chakra once more but this time in less sporadic manner. With well paced breathing and his eyes closed, Zay felt the chakra once more funneling through his bones. As it did so, his skeletal structure swelled once more. Yet this time, it did not remain just internally. Instead, they began to extract themselves outwards from the base of his palms and dug themselves into the ground he was anchored to. As this was continuing, Zay looked upon his wrists were the bones were exiting and was shocked that he wasn't bleeding. "Hmmm, so this isn't even a wound. It's almost like this is just an extension of my skeleton..."
This process continued for a bit, until Zay noticed those same bones being expelled from his body were beginning to extrude and puncture themselves up and out of the ground. They seemed to form some type of pathway in front of him. As he noted this observation, he pushed himself to exert more energy and chakra. Resultantly the bones formed more and more until there was an abundant and linear eruption of bones from out of the earth continuing onward about 10 meters in front of him. It was incredible, but fuck was it exhausting. As soon as the bones fully expanded out of the ground, Zay again had to catch his breath and reground himself. The cycle repeated itself. He would take some time to recuperate his energy, and in one swooping attempt would repeat the exact same process. However this time it was somewhat effortless, and now more effective as well. The bones exploding from the earth would now rage 20 meters in front of him, extending outwards from his training platform and onto the adjacent. Additionally they would be sharper, taller, and more durable. Clearly he was getting the hang of this. As he finished this attempt, the bones would dissipate and retract back into the earth. He would give it one final go, but this time with a try to more cohesively manipulate their formation. As he anticipated, instead of a linear path of bones forming in front of him, it would be a concentric circle of jagged osseus matter forming around him. It had a diameter of 10 meters.
Upon ending the technique and once again catching his breath, he rose to his feet and looked upon his arms. No scratches, cuts, or abrasions were apparent. It was something so seamlessly done that he couldn't believe that just moments ago he experienced so much anguish when just swelling the bones within his body. If he could do this now, he figured his ceiling had grown exponentially. There was so much more potential for him to attempt and develop other techniques that were made possible for his clan. And now, having harvested a few taijutsu techniques, his brain had already began to wonder how he could incorporate his Shikotsumyaku into his taijutsu prowess. He began to think on this concept a bit. Perhaps instead of an ordinary blocking mechanism, he could generate some type of bone shield to reinforce his defense. And instead of a typical rising kick, he could extend its range or damage output by extending some bones from his legs. Finally, if he had combined any of these techniques with his newfound ability to amplify his taijutsu, he could really develop his abilities as a shinobi. He smiled to himself as he began to spiral off into thought to unearth what his next set of training would consist of.- Claims:

Having allowed his creativity to run wild momentarily, Zay decided he should attempt some ninjutsu techniques to make his training session more well rounded. He had a good understanding of his fire affinity, and figured he should begin to develop his proficiency in it. Thinking back on some of the jutsu he had been exposed to there were several that particularly caught his attention, all of which were quite basic. The first being the temporary paralysis technique. It was simple, and only required a trio of hand seals and some channeling of his chakra. He would begin with standing in an erect position, and bringing his hands up and in front of him. As he did so, he could feel his blood pulsating throughout his body. All of the rigorous training he had done so far had really had him feeling the effects of it. But nevertheless, this was no time to stop. And so he would bring his hands together, interlock his fingers, and direct his pointers to the sky. The tiger seal. In a rapid yet flowing motion, his right hand would raise up and firmly grip his left index and middle fingers. Finally, his right hand would unfold and create a perpendicular formation to his left hand. Upon creating the series of tiger, rat, and ox hand seals, Zay would expel the chakra from his body and subsequently create an invisible aura.
Without being gifted with some form of chakra vision, it would appear as if nothing happened. However Zay felt his chakra spread out in a conical pattern before him. Recognizing he would not know if this was successful or not, he would need some targets to try this against. And what would serve better as practice dummies than some simple clones? Once more, he would create a duo of clones and upon formation they would take several steps back to create some distance from their caster. With a swift attempt, the clones would rush towards Zay. Zay would once more fire through the hand seals required of the temporary paralysis technique and when he was complete with this, without hesitation the clones would be paralyzed in their tracks. With a smug smile upon his face, Zay knew that this novice level technique would come in clutch some day. Especially when it was within his arsenal. With time, Zay would practice it more but for now he just sought to familiarize himself with it.
With the clones frozen in place, Zay would release them. They stood motionless as if they were still paralyzed, but only because they had no further instruction from their creator. This time, Zay wanted to attempt a technique that demonstrated more of a visual impact. Additionally, he wanted to begin the process of developing a foundation in katon style jutsu. With a deep inhale, he closed his eyes. Upon opening them, he would exhale. He spent several seconds going through this, as he attempted to establish a calm yet powerful baseline for his breathing. Many katon style jutsu stemmed from the chakra root within the belly. This was because many fire style techniques required the user to exhale flames. This one in particular was along the same lines, yet wouldn't generate pure fire. Instead, it would create something much more simple: smoke. And so once he was confident in the control over his diaphragm he recollected the hand seals required for this jutsu. It was only two: the bird and the horse. As he rifled through the motions to make those hand signs, he breathed in once more. When completing the signs and his deep breath, he exhaled and released a deep funnel of chakra with it. It was black, bold, and thick, yet only expanded about 3 meters in front of him. As it developed, it shrouded the clones in front of him entirely. Clearly he couldn't see them, and they couldn't see him. Smiling once more in satisfaction, he calmed his body and waited for the natural wind within the training area to dissipate the smoke. In the meantime, he sat upon the ground to gather his energy once more. Today was truly proving to be a fruitful session.- Claims:

Now fully rested once more, Zay wanted to attempt more Shikotsumyaku techniques. He reflected once more on his first bloodline jutsu, the Tiger Lily. Knowing that it took immense concentration and mental fortitude to summon the bones from his skeleton and project them out of his body, he knew that any further training of these techniques could really push him to the edge. With that in mind, he maintained the mentality that he would need to cautiously pace himself. However this would be a difficult task considering the pure excitement that Zay had knowing he had access to such a unique ability. Being the determined soul he was, all he could think about was what his potential would be like if he were to learn and master all Shikotsumyaku abilities. And that was what motivated him.
While sitting on the ground, he folded his left leg over his right and rested his left palm upon his left knee. With his right hand, he maintained a seal of confrontation. He did so in order to channel his chakra into his right hand. As his body began to calm itself and funnel chakra into his right arm, he felt the bones nearest to his bicep beginning to swell. They were stretching and elongating ever so slightly, but still enough to feel the sensation. This feeling would spread into his elbow, and then subsequently his forearm. Once it arrived here, he sought to keep it there. It took quite a bit of focus and effort, but as he did so he felt both his ulna and radius expanding. Although they began to do so at the slow and controlled rate, the more chakra accumulated in this location, the faster their size would increase. Not only their dimensions, but additionally their density and hardness would amplify too. Zay could sense this happening, and resultantly it made it more difficult to keep his arm suspended and maintaining the handseal. When it became too much to bare, he cried out in slightly pain and a massive spear shaped bone would fire out from his wrist and hurl itself straight ahead. Luckily, it collided into a tree and not into a fellow shinobi. But as it released itself from his body, Zay felt an immediate wave of stress and pain leaving his body and he once again felt normal. No cuts, no bruises, no blood, no harm. It was an incredible blood line ability.
He took a few moments to stare at his wrist. He was attempting to decipher how it was possible that his anatomical structure allowed him to freely manipulate and shoot bones out from his body. Having successfully ejected a single, large bone from his body he wanted to attempt this again. This could potentially serve the purpose of a functioning projectile. As Zay had not really been proficient in ninjutsu, he knew that when fighting those who leaned on long range offense he would be at a disadvantage. Thus if he could weaponize his bones into flying projectiles then this could make up for the range he was lacking. Rising to his feet this time, he wanted to try these steps all over again from the beginning. However, he wanted to create multiple projectiles instead of just the one. Retracing his steps, Zay did everything exactly the same but this time he was standing. Maybe it was because he was standing, or maybe it was simply because this was his second attempt; but whatever the case was, Zayrian was able to expel not one or two, but three elongated and even sharper bones from his body. Now sure, this was quite an accomplishment, but what would it mean if there was no real damage output from the attack?
"Summon the dummies..." he thought to himself as he performed the clone seal to generate a couple of clones a meter away from him, all standing in a single file line. They would remain still, and Zay would align his body to match the direction the clones were standing in. With his third attempt, he would shoot 3 projectile bones at the clones. Yet to his dismay, all three would miss and collide into the floor and nearby trees. Such a disappointment. But realistically, the recoil from firing those bones was difficult to control. With this in mind, he would pay particular attention to reinforcing the base of his body while shooting the bones out. And thus with the fourth try, all three bones would launch from his body and puncture the clones, instantly dissipating and destroying them.
"Nice! I wonder if I can try doing this with various parts of my body?"
Of course, Zay needed to push himself further. It wouldn't be enough to just complete the technique, but instead he needed to start thinking of different ways to incorporate it into his fighting style. Again, he would form clones and conduct some typical hand to hand sparring with them. Punches and kicks were thrown, grapples occurred, and once some distance was created Zay attempted a quick combo. He would ground himself, then propel himself up and forward with a launching kick onto one of the clones. Now in the air, he would maneuver himself into a corkscrew motion, ending with a fling of his foot in the direction of the airborne clone. When that was done, a single sharp bone spike flew through the air and stabbed the clone.
"Hmph!"
Upon landing on the ground, he performed a sweeping motion and sent another flurry of bones from the leg that swung around. These bones would experience the same fate, and destroy the final clone. As his leg returned alongside his other, he would raise himself and smile proudly. As soon as he did so, he fell right back down to the ground in anguish and fatigue. By this point Zay had been training for some hours, and he needed to eat something. Removing the cross body satchel from his torso, he opened it up and began rummaging through it. He withdrew his canteen as well as his lunch that his mother had packed for him. It was time for a well deserved meal. Perhaps this would help him continue his training. While sitting and eating, Zay would finally take some time to spectate all the other shinobi around him training. There were some developing their taijutsu and ninjutsu techniques as well. While others were looking at progressing things like their dojutsu. Zay could overhear them speaking, and they all seemed proud of themselves as well. Perhaps it was too early to celebrate? What would be the use in feeling accomplished with one's training if everyone else were doing the same things? He needed to stand out and excel so that he wouldn't fall behind, but instead would lead the pack.- Claims:

When he finished his lunch, Zay was right back at it again trying out new concepts. Up until this point, he had been utilizing his Shikotsumyaku abilities in an offensive manner. By creating a series of spikes in front of him, and additionally learning how to shoot them outwards for ranged manuevers, Zay was beginning to cover all of his bases. However, a thought that had not yet occurred to him was the concept of reinforcing his skeleton to protect himself further. It would be similar to the block technique that he had been practicing.
"Hmm, if I were to try something like a simple block but with a reinforced portion of my body I could likely tank more damage."
This thought developed and so he would ponder it a bit. How would be go about it? So far his entire usage of the Shikotsumyaku began with the swelling of his bones. However during his attempt at firing from his body, there was a brief point where his bones began to somewhat densify. As a result, the destructive force of his bones had amplified. So if he could apply this same concept but instead internalize it, perhaps any technique that Zay would be susceptible to would just be absorbed by the bone armor. As he thought to himself he nodded a bit. The idea was starting to make sense and sounded good on paper. The next step would be to actually apply it.
Finishing up his lunch, he packed up the remains of it back into his satchel. He slung it across his body, pressed both hands onto the ground and pushed upwards as he unfolded his legs and rose up. Zay stretched out his arms and really began to mold the chakra within each part of his body. To successfully execute a technique like this, he would need to manifest all of the chakra into his body but within each section of it. Starting at the tips of his toes, he tried to control the flow and evenly distribute it. Once this was done, he would advance it into his entire foot. Following this, his legs, his waist, abdomen, torso, arms, hands, neck, then head. Today had almost been an exercise of chakra control. But in actuality, any type of training would require a proficient mastery of such a basic skill. No doubt that every other shinobi partaking in their own training regimens today were also experiencing the same thing. As his chakra reservoir was now evenly distributed, Zay tried to recall the effort required to increase his bone density. It really just began with the swelling of the bones within his body. But this time it would likely be significantly more challenging, as now he was doing this with the entirety of his body and not just a segment of it. As he begun, it was comparable to a boat being rocked by violent tides. His chakra flow would surge to one part of his body, and as he would notice and try to even it out, it would immediately transition to another part. Resultantly, the bones within one portion of his body would magnify in hardness, soften, then the same phenomena would happen elsewhere. This technique truly required more concentration. So he would try again, yet with his eyes closed this time. The only thing he would focus on would be breathing. As he inhaled, his mind would center itself. And when he exhaled, it would expand to reach every portion of his body. This seemed to prove a lot more fruitful, as now he was creating an even distribution of chakra within himself. His skeleton hardened, and he could feel it reinforcing his natural defenses. This is exactly what he had been going for.
Of course, this would only prove useful if he had something external to test his resiliency. Reaching out to a nearby shinobi, he would call out, "Hey, this may seem odd but can you punch me?"
With a peculiar look upon his face, the shinobi responded. "Yeah sure, just any kind of punch?" Clearly he had understood the assignment.
"Yup, anywhere. I'm just trying to see how much I can take."
And so the shinobi would leap over to the training platform that Zayrian had been standing upon and walked closer to the Kaguya's direction until he was no more than 2 meters away. With the gather of his chakra, he would rush towards Zay. It was apparent that he was not holding back. It almost seemed like he had some pent up aggression from the result of his training. Zayrian could understand this, as he did too. It sucked to train alone, but without having prior interactions with many of the Genin of Hoshigakure, this is what he had to resort to. Maybe it was time to make some friends, or rivals. Either way, it would be motivation to further his training. Now as the shinobi had closed the distance, he would lunge from his running start, cock his right arm back, and hurl it towards Zay's midsection. Zay, with his reinforced skeleton, would stand motionless, ready to see what type of absorption this armor of bone would offer. Upon making contact, the shinobi's fist would drive straight into Zay's sternum. Normally this kind of direct impact would cause severe bruising and possibly some internal bleeding. Yet with Zayrian's bone armor, the only reaction he had to the punch was sliding a few centimeters backwards as a result of the blunt force. But he had felt no pain at all, it was successful.
The shinobi gathered himself, then astounded looked upon Zay's torso and noted there was no damage whatsoever. "How did you.." he began. "You're pretty tough huh? Let me try again then..." he would offer. This time, he could be seen to build up chakra within the base of his feet. It was clear to anyone with chakra vision that this would be some type of kick throw at Zay. In response, Zayrian would heighten his senses to be prepared for whatever he would be attacked with. He knew that from the stance of the shinobi that this would be a technique of increased power. And so, he would instead intend to intercept it with a block calling upon the reinforced bone armor to increase its effectiveness. As the kick would approach Zay, he stuck his respective shin up and outward and met the foot of the shinobi. An audible *pop* could be heard, and the shinobi's own foot would now have massive bruise upon it. He would shriek in pain, side eye Zay, then limp away from the platform. "Uh yeah, I think I'm done for the day. Maybe next time."
Zay would kind of shrug, raise his hand and wave to the shinobi. "Sorry about that...I just needed to see how much I could take..."

Re: Morning Cardio [open]
Sun Oct 24, 2021 1:12 pm
Although the Kaguya bloodline blessed its users with a natural affinity for taijutsu, Zay gathered that it's kekkei genkai was far more complex than what it seemed on the surface level. Its abilities undoubtedly required a certain level of strength in order to utilize and maintain the techniques, but what was far more subtle was the amount of chakra control required to fully exploit its true potential. This got Zayrian thinking even more. If he could master the art of chakra control, perhaps that would get him one step closer to unlocking the true abilities of the Shikotsumyaku. Such mastery was also a prerequisite for utilizing ninjutsu techniques. Seemed like he would be killing two birds with one stone if he could pull this off.
"How can I even start something like that?"
His mind pondered multiple starting points before landing at what made sense to him. Aware of his fire affinity, he would attempt to expand upon this by seeking to control the intensity of the flame. The idea behind this was if he could freely manipulate the magnitude of a fire's flame, it would mean he was capable of pouring his chakra into and out of the flame. And fundamentally, this was the basics of many ninjutsu techniques and chakra control as a whole. So Zay would formula several hand seals and with haste he expelled several flame darts from his hand. The darts would whirl through the air, with all but one dissipating into the air. The one that remained ignited a single branch on a neighboring tree. Zay would sprint over to the tree, ascend it, and with a swipe of his arm would snap the branch off from the tree. He gripped it with his non-striking arm, and fell back to the grand. Landing on his feet, he now bore the ignited branch in his left hand. With his right hand, he would form a cup around the side of the flame. When he did, he immediately felt the residual heat being emitted from the fire. That heat was an extension of himself. It was a physical manifestation of his chakra, alive and well. With his cupped hand, he flexed his fingers and started to form a fist. By doing this, the flame began to reduce in size and heat output. It was like smothering a flame by removing its source of oxygen. When the flame would be reduced to nothing but a few speckles of embers, Zay would start to reverse this process. He expanded and stretched out his fingers, and as they became more "loose", so did the flame. It would grow exponentially, and take life once more. These hand motions he was executing could be simplified into two main concepts: expending, and absorbing chakra. With this exercise understood and completed, he would again ball his hand into a fist and fully smother the flame so that it burned no longer. He dropped the branch onto the ground, turned around and walked back towards the center of the platform.
So far, Zay's katon ninjutsu techniques were of minute damage output. His taijutsu and Kaguya abilities had far more offensive potential than anything else he had. With this chakra control under his belt, he wanted to get some feedback from others on specific katon style feats he could attempt. And so he would leave the platform he had been training on and with humility approach his Hogokage. When he finally neared him, he slightly bow his head before angling it backward and looking up towards the teeming man's face. The kage was quite taller and of larger stature than Zay so it was quite intimidating to stand before his presence. "Excuse me lord Hogokage. My name is Zayrian, and I am attempting to expand my arsenal of abilities. I have been practicing some simple techniques, but I'm at a lost when it comes to ninjutsu, specifically katon style. Would you be able to demonstrate, or inform me of jutsu that I can learn?"
He would wait for a response from the mighty kage, and if he had any questions to the young genin then Zay would be sure to indulge in the conversation with him. If he chose to tell Zay of several jutsu, including the hand signs, then Zay would memorize the techniques so that he could try them out. If he chose to show Zay the abilities himself, then Zay would closely watch the kage in action in order to mimic his every step. WHen this demonstration would conclude, Zay would offer a slight head bow again and with glee let out a, "Thank you very much. If you don't mind, I will return to the area I've been training at and will try to replicate these techniques." And with that, Zay would rush off back to his training platform, eager to try the techniques displayed by the Hogokage. The first of which being the Blast Wave, Fire Release: Demon Lantern, Searing Migraine, and finally the performance of a simple Shadow Clone.
Now back at where he started, Zay would weave the four hand seals required for the Blast Wave: horse, rat, ram, then tiger. When he completed the tiger seal, he felt the chakra within him building up in all areas of his body. It was oddly reminiscent of the feelings he experienced when performing the Bone Armor jutsu. Yet this wasn't painful. There was no bone swelling. Instead it was just hot. His body felt overrun by a significant amount of heat. It was as if Zay's body had been a tea kettle sitting over an open flame, heating and heating until the water within him boiled. As it boiled, it felt as if every breath he exhaled was of immense heat. And just as a tea kettle would do when it would begin steaming, steam would start to release from Zay's body. It seemed to come out of each and every pore, until finally he could not contain it anymore. Within an instant, an immense wave of heat and fire would swarm outwards from every part of his body in the shape of a fiery dome. Ones the flames left his body, they would travel outward and expand in diameter until they traveled about five meters in every direction. From there they would wither into nothingness. And as the flames were expelled from his body, all of that heat building up within him immediately subsided. It was such an intense feeling. Surely if he were to continue practicing this technique, he would be able to expand upon its destructive power.
Feeling accomplished, and still exceedingly hot, Zay wanted to carry on this intense momentum and use it fuel his next technique. This one being the Demon Lanterns he witnessed Ayato summon. It didn't seem difficult to perform, at least when watching the Hogokage perform it. As his memory recalled every step Ayato performed, his own body would mirror these memories. The first being the execution of a quartet of handseals: dog, horse, snake, then tiger. "What a bother...Every ninjutsu technique requires you to perform hand seals of some sort? It feels like I'd just be letting myself open to something..." he thought to himself. Despite his annoyance with the ninjutsu requirements, he continued onward anyway. The next thing Zay could sense Ayato was doing, was expelling katon chakra out from his body. Instead of doing this in an explosive and violent way, it was done quite beautifully. It called upon grace, and precision. And by doing that, the Hogokage had summoned a series of flame orbs. These orbs subsequently took on the form of heads bearing demon masks upon their faces. Ghoustly and dangerous. It was a wonder how such beautiful chakra control could result in something so demonic. Yet Zay sought to do the very same thing. With the slow and controlled expulsion of fire chakra from his body, he once again cooled down. Yet simultaneously, the air around him began to heat up. The result being three flame orbs beginning to take shape in various directions: a meter above his head, a meter to his right, and a meter to his left. As they would develop, they would graduate from being simple orbs into taking the form of a skull. This was immediately followed up by a mask appearing onto each one of the faces. Understanding that this technique was far beyond the limits of any katon style that he attempted before this point, Zay wanted to make sure that wherever these demon lanterns ended up they wouldn't destroy the training grounds around him. He spotted an adjacent pond of water and figured this would be the best place to launch the lanterns. And with the simple thought of their destination, the trio of demon lanterns would fly towards the body of water. They would crash into it in unison, and the result amassed a surge of water splashing upward and releasing a surrounding cloud of steam around it. Zay's eyes widened in marvel. "Wow, what power..." he thought to himself. The fact that the Hogokage had numerous jutsu like this within his tool kit was astounding. It gave him a brief glimspe of the power differential between someone who was Kage level, versus someone who was a mere genin. Yet it was motivational. It made him feel as if he too could mature into a powerful shinobi. And at the rate he was progressing today, perhaps it wasn't so far off.
Continuing with his rapid development, Zay's hands immediately raised to his front. Without any thought of the incessant requisites of ninjutsu, he fired through the next series of hand seals he saw Ayato perform. The rat, dog, tiger, and then once again the rat. With this technique, the aim was to spew a small fireball. It seemed a lot more juvenile in the early stages of the technique than what it truly was. Upon completion, he inhaled deeply, and breathed out a miniscule ball of flames from his mouth. He had angled his head to release the fireball in a direction where it would travel ten meters in front of him before crashing into the ground. As the ball of fire traveled towards the floor, Zay began to dash backwards in recognition that the once juvenile ball of flames would muster into a massive storm of flames. And he was glad he did so, because when he finally reached a safe distance from the landing point of the fire, the flames would collide into the ground and begin to spiral around themselves. While they did so, they heightened more and more. Additionally, they widened at the same rate. And they would continue expanding into a massive storm of flames until their diameter reached 10 meters. If Zay had remained where he was originally, he would sure enough be singed to a crisp. The flames would carry on as they slowly reduced in size since Zay began to cease pouring chakra into them.
It was interesting because up until this point, as Zay had been expelling chakra he had found himself more and more tired. Yet at this point, it was possible he was really just running on adrenaline. The thought didn't occur to him that he was expending all of his energy, because his accomplishments felt so great that it was like he was just riding a high. Just hours ago he had no chance at performing any type of katon jutsu at this scale. Was this the result of training before a kage? Maybe it was the location. Whatever it was seemed to yield the result of training in a hyperbolic time chamber. And it made Zay happy.
The final thing he had watched the Hogokage demonstrate was the creation of a series of shadow clones. As advanced of a technique as this was, it seemed relatively easy compared to the widespread fire techniques that Zay had just attempted. He thought to himself, and in theory it seemed somewhat similar to the creation of the demon lanterns. The shadow clone required the physical manifestation of chakra outside of one's body. And it required this chakra creation to be so refined and well polished that it would formulate into the shape of the user. There were four hand seals required. Zay remembered them at the same time as performing them. When he would complete them, his fingers were now creating the clone seal. In the same way he expelled the chakra out from his body to create the demon lantern, Zayrian did this just a meter away from himself. In slow motion, one could have seen the creation of the clone beginning. It started with its feet, ascending all the way up to its legs, body, and finally the head. The end result looked quite similar to Zay. It wasn't perfect, but it was enough to be considered a successful attempt. The two turned to look at each other, and upon making eye contact, a multitude of ideas began whizzing through Zay's head. They could all be simplified to one thought though: now Zay had a decent training partner.

Natsuki's eyes caught another figure similar to Typhon Sepsus, about ten meters away from her. The boy, Takeda Takeshi, wore a matching mask and had the hallmark features of the canopic clan. On his neck is a brand new Hoshi headband. "Hello, you can join your cousin in the medical class if you want!" The silver-haired kunoichi told him, with a smile wide and bright.
"Oh, worry not, sweet Hotaru. I've kept up with my morning cardio while you've been away." The Golden Hyuuga smiled at her, a wicked smile, and turned to his class. "I'll do something that will blow your fucking minds," He said, mainly directed at the blue-haired brat. To display, Toneri channeled his chakra signature through Brightroar's steel, his Sword Storm technique, causing it to glow a brilliant white as its shape fogged into that of a revolving circle of sharp steel.
Putting the weight on his lead foot, Toneri slashed at a training dummy with so much force that sent splinters of wood and straw everywhere. With a single strike, the blade had cut the figure in half, akin to a buzzsaw. Someone could complain about damages on the training ground later. That was none of the Golden Hyuuga's concern, however.
"Give it a try, and try not to slice off your limbs while at it." Toneri put a gauntleted hand under his jaw. "But in case you do, my sweet sister will re-attach it before you die of blood loss. Probably." Turning his attention to the hanging bulls-eye target about twenty meters away, he reached for a small black star from his inventory of laid-out weapons.
“Now here’s one, for the not so fearless.” He threw the shuriken from where he stood. The soft sound of sharp steel repeatedly slashing through the air currents echoed as it traveled to the target. "There's some sweet music for my ears," Toneri proclaimed as the shuriken hit the center of the target painted on chopped wood with a soft thud. The impact was powerful enough to make the bulls-eye swing, and for a moment, the Chuunin thought the cord would break from the swinging. Thankfully the target remained there, hanging on the thick branch of the tree.
"Either way, it's your go."

Ty would watch as the girl made her hands glow a warm green. Mystic palm, a pretty basic but essential medical technique. It would be worth learning. He sat down with crossed legs and performed the hand seals a couple of times to familiarize himself with the motions. It would take him a while to get the desired effect but eventually it would work. His hands glowed with energy and it made him laugh a little.
"I did it! That wasn't so hard." He'd giggle quietly.
Natsuki would call over another ninja, one that Typhon happened to recognize. Takeshi was a fellow Canopic and now full fledged ninja. It was good to see he was keeping up with training.
"Good to see you again. Let's see if you can keep up" Ty would say to his friend before returning to training. He produced the mystic palm a couple more times before he felt confident enough.
He could move on to something a bit more complicated. "Uhh...excuse me Natsuki? This technique is useful in general but I'm looking for something a little more offense oriented. Have you got anything like that?" He would ask innocently.

Zayrian stared into the eyes of his shadow clone as if he was staring in the mirror. It was a near perfect replication of the young genin and it fascinated him. As his eyes scanned the clone, he noted minor flaws such as a slightly darker skin tone, shorter hair, and other things here and there. But overall, it was a pretty good attempt. With time Zay could go on to perfect his shadow clone jutsu, but for now the clone that stood before him was more than suitable for today's training session. All he needed was a reliable person to spar and test techniques against. He had tried this with the other Hoshigakure shinobi, yet that was short lived. Something like a shadow clone would prove to be more durable, because if it were destroyed then Zayrian could just summon another.
"Hey, why are you looking at me like that?" the clone would shout out to Zay while squinting his face into a perplexed expression.
Zay's eyes would widen in shock and his head would cock to the side. He was astonished that this clone was speaking back to him of its free will, almost like it was a person of its own. And additionally, it sounded exactly like him. "Ohhh, I get it. You're just admiring beauty, heh I would too! Well here get one of my better angles!" the clone would interrupt before giving Zay the chance to respond to the clone's inquiry. Simultaneously the clone would hop in place and now be striking a pose, modeling off the right side of his body in a confident stance.
"Knock it off! Let's get serious. I summoned you so you could train with me!"
"Ohhh, well why didn't you just say that! Let's get to it!"
"So here's the idea," Zay began. "I have heard stories of shinobi using shadow clones to train techniques and gain experience faster. Basically everything you experience comes back to me as additional knowledge when you poof away. So what I figured was if we can both attempt the same technique, it won't be so physically taxing on me all at once but it will be twice as rewarding. These Shikotsumyaku jutsu always seem to required an intense amount of energy expenditure and can sometimes put me in pain. Having you try the techs with me simultaneously could shoulder the burden tremendously."
Upon hearing Zay's words, the clone formed a fist and punched it into his other hand's open palm. "Brilliant! We're geniuses! Show me a tech!"
"Okay watch closely and copy my movements!"
With his creativity skyrocketing, Zay just attempted to visually a maneuver he wanted to try. Knowing there was a way to internally create a defensive layer of bones, he speculated on ways of making it external. For something wouldn't be able to harm him if it couldn't physically touch him. Thus he would start internally and stimulate his bone density. Having done this a couple times today, he almost felt like a natural at it. By doing this, he concentrated his chakra flow within his skeletal system and they would project themselves to the top layer of his skin and form together as one protective coating. Realizing his clone wouldn't be able to see this happening, Zay offered some verbal instructions. "Okay start with the armor of bone!"
When commanded, the clone would take on the same stance as Zay and concentrate his chakra in a similar form. When this was complete, he would look at Zay and nod. "Check!"
Zayrian would smile in return and speak again. "And now we want to project this bone armor outward, but not in the form of projectiles like we usually do for offensive techniques. I think we would still want the bones anchored to our bodies." After he finished speaking, Zay and his clone would both be straining themselves and expelling chakra out from their bodies. It was being done in a similar way to how the blast wave was executed. But instead of allowing the build up of fiery chakra, the two suppressed the katon affinity and promoted their bone cells to flourish. As this carried on, a single spurt of bone would begin to sprout out from Zay's arm. It was small and only a few centimeters in size but it was still progress. Zay's eyes lit up when he saw this, as the technique was finally starting to see some progress. When Zay's clone noticed, his face grew flustered. "Hey, no fair!"
"Focus on yourself, you won't do it if you're looking at me!"
Grunting, the clone went back to the task at hand and centered his attention and efforts back on himself. With a little patience, he would sprout a small bone of his own. Gleefully, he continued in this effort and focused to extend said bone further out. Zay did the same. And in time both of the bones extending out from each of their arms began to elongate. They would continue to sliver out from their bodies at a gradual rate until they finally reached what appeared to be their maximum length, about half of a meter. Realizing that it would be too stagnant to exert all of their efforts into increasing the size of the bone, Zay and his clone attempted at recreating this on another portion of their arms. And with a tad less effort, the second bone shot out and at an accelerated pace. One by one, this process would continue until a fortress of bones cloaked the bone of them.
"Nice job!" Zay would exclaim "Alright, time for you to go now!"
"What? Wai-" the clone would responded before abruptly being dismissed by Zay's hand seal. As the clone's chakra returned to Zay, Zay immediately felt overwhelmed. All of the energy he had exerted had been duplicated and now he was feeling the effects. Of course he expected this, but it was still a bother. However Zay was starting to become more able to handle such extreme chakra expenditures. He didn't feel dizzy and he didn't fall to the floor. This was the definition of progress. And on the bright side, he could feel all of the clone's experience transitioning into himself. Because of that, it was almost as if he himself had performed the technique successfully twice. And by doing so, he felt twice as confident as he would if he only had the experience of performing it once.

CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!
Slaps of approbation resound boomed throughout the training grounds from the rear, abaft of Toneri and his grade — alee of Morio. Murmurs of furor would shake the very circumambient. Garbed in mail and bolt, fur and a small artillery stride through the group none other then Tsunayoshi Hoshimura. Auspicious and pearly tainted hair, strong cheeks and sharp jawline. Ocean blue eyes with golden outer rings. Bystanders would voice his name, shocked to see him before them, honored to know that he is one of their own — their champion.
“You are as acerbic as ever, my friend.” His eyes would scour the field, he stood one meter apart from Toneri to his right. He noticed the woman, one that Toneri named himself as he spoke to her. “Especially when in the presence of such…vigorous influence.” He jested. With a smile, he would glance over to Natsuki, giving her a tender smile and wave.
Returning his attention on the damaged field, he would glance up to Morio, his kinsman. Intrigued by the taunt that was laid out by his good friend, he found it necessary to involve himself into the mix. Toneri should consider this a special addition to his class, nothing close to a takeover in any way. “For this one, I find my arsenal more entrancing. Here, allow me to demonstrate.” The Knight known as Bittersteel would raise his right hand to the hilt of his sumptuous blade that reached above his right shoulder. Extracting Just Maid from its scabbard — all would experience the beauty of its craftsmanship. With the blade brought forth the very hand that held it would form seals solo. Phantom chakra would swathe Just Maid in ominous purple, red and black. The very air around them would be rebuked from the manifestation of this jutsu. Tsuna would eye the crowd, but lock eyes with Morio. “I must admit, this technique is not as flashy as Toneri’s. However, this is of my own creation. The very blade is clasp in a phantom blade of OUR ancestors. You can even cut through overlapping time and space with this technique — meaning, space-time techniques that otherwise would be intangible are no longer out of your reach. On top of this, you can interact with both physical and chakra based obstructions.” He would then strike at the very ground with his blade.
The eruption from the impact was great, the impact force topped with the added power of this tech would grant his weapon an impact force of 112. A crescent shaped cleave was made into the ground before him. The blade would then diminish its coating. He would return the blade to its home and then turn his eye to Morio. “I assure you, this technique is the key to far much more.” He would then find his eyes landing on a familiar face, Kurayami. It’s been some time since he last saw this one, but it was good to see him well.

Toran was happy to see the other Uchiha training alongside him. Wanting to get as much experience from his friend as possible. Lest they waste this golden opportunity to train themselves and grow stronger together. But what made his eyes jump out of his sockets was the hand seals that Isemori performed. Followed by the sudden howling of electricity coming in the other Uchiha’s direction.
The lightning houd that had appeared skidded forward, passing by Toran before slamming head first into a massive boulder other Genin were seemingly working on. He two wanted that kind of power for himself. The way the hound blitz past a few of the other ninja around. The soft crackl;ing of the blue lightning. It made the hairs stand on his head in excitement.
But what came next was a look that Toran was all too familiar with himself at this point. Even at the mention of Ise’s fathers jutsu. Followed by the solemn face plainly obvious to the other Uchiha. His emotions sprang out by placing a hand on Ise’s shoulder. Giving the other a smile as he did so.
“I have…. Something similar in your case to my dad…. Hell I’d say my dad probably knew yours. He’s the one that usually works in the library…. He’s the one with the eyepatch over his eye.”
Toran’s face also turned a bit solemn for a brief moment as it softened. He didn’t want to truly compare the two. He knew that something bad had happened to the other kid's father. As such he wanted to at least make some kind of parallel of sorts. Even if it didn’t work well in the end. However what surprised him the most were the others arriving here onto the training grounds. Especially the continuous discussion between the one in robes and Toneri Hyuuga. But that only got an eye roll out of the child. Not caring one wit about what this “royalty” thinks. But he was smart enough not to challenge anything for now. He had barely become a Genin. And putting himself in the line of cross fire would be really dumb of him. But what also caught his gaze was someone else that he didn’t know much about. His newly awakened Sharingan tried to even see if there was anything going on. But if only it were much more advanced. Then maybe it’d do something. But for now the Uchiha sat there for a moment before hearing the man talking.
During his many, many thoughts about ninjutsu when he was in the academy. Lightning release dazzled him in more ways than one. The way it sounded made him almost too happy whenever he saw it used. His father was also a lightning release from birth. Which explains why they lived in Hoshigakure right now. But then came the thought of the Uchiha clan that the young, impressionable Uchiha wanted to talk about after learning the other boys' ninjutsu as well. His blood coursing through him and begging him to learn more. He just wished he could teach the other boy anything that would be useful.
But what also was something he had to think about was the elemental release that was shared by their Hogokage. More specifically that he was there for a moment while it had been possibly shown yet again. Even so, fire release was very useful to have as an element. Wondering if Isemori could also perhaps teach him the element in the future. The ranged attacks as well as the way to control flames in order to create traps made him happy to know he was with the right people to teach him all he needed in the ways of ninjutsu, and also possibly genjutsu in the future.

Re: Morning Cardio [open]

Zayrian would sit back and wonder to himself now about what else he would need within his arsenal as a shinobi. With taijutsu and his bloodline based jutsu, he felt confident in his close quarters combat abilities. Today he had learned and discovered a multitude of techniques that he could use both offensively and defensively with up close and personnel. To provide some range in his techniques, he had the benefit of fire style ninjutsu. From the efforts he exhibited upon learning the jutsu from the Hogokage, Zay felt confident in his potential to continue building upon this foundation. But it seemed like he was missing something. In a sense, all of his defensive techniques would be successful against physical attacks. But what if one were to launch chakra based attacks at him? Would his bone armor maintain its integrity and prevent him from sustaining injuries? Or would it crumble? This concept was one that Zay pondered, and one that he wouldn't really be able to test in a simple spar. There had to be something else. Perhaps the Hogokage, or one of his siblings would be able to shed some light on the situation. With that, Zay reflected back on his studies while in the academy; specifically on the lectures regarding the high level shinobi of the village. He knew that Lord Ayato was a master of taijutsu, ninjutsu, and space time jutsu. All three of these were interesting to Zay, but he felt like there was something more. Upon thinking a bit more on the kage's siblings, Zay recalled one thing in common that the two shared: their fuinjutsu prowess. Fuinjutsu seemed to be a good option as a utility specialty, which often times could be used as a complementary piece to another jutsu. This was starting to sound like something that resonated with Zay's intentions.
Realizing this, Zay would drop down from the training platform he stood upon and would once again walk in the direction of the trio of siblings. As Zay neared them, his eyes would begin to focus on Toneri. Toneri and Ayato seemed to be the ones who Zay aligned himself with the most. His combination of skills was almost like a medley of their own. And since he had already sought Ayato for advice once today, he would seek out Toneri this time. Now standing a couple of meters away from Toneri, Zay would wave slightly. He was nervous, as he wasn't sure how the kage's brother preferred to be approached. Yet he had to swallow his pride, show respect, and ask for help since he needed it. "Lord Toneri," Zay would humbly address him. "I am Zayrian, genin of Hoshigakure. I come to you in hopes that you can teach me the arts of fuinjutsu. I am looking for more utility style and complementary jutsu. Specifically a defensive jutsu as my first." Upon reaching out, Zay would patiently yet eagerly await the response of the blonde haired man. When it would come, Zay would listen attentively. Each piece of advice Toneri offered, Zay would follow. And as he described the jutsu that Zayrian had been looking for, Zay would mentally document every detail of it. He was excited, impatient even, to attempt the jutsu out. But first, he would need to unearth the concept of awakening the fuinjutsu potential inside of him. When Toneri concluded his instructions, Zay would bow his head slightly and kindly thank the man. " I really appreciate the guidance Lord Toneri. Thank you."
And with that, Zay would turn in his place and immediately being walking bath to his own training platform. Now standing upon it, he reflected on the words of Toneri. His description of fuinjutsu was simple yet straightforward. To Zay, he interpreted it as the art of sealing away the realities of the world in a small, controllable vessel. When thought of this way, it seemed almost poetic. Through fuinjutsu, Zay should be able to seal away any hostile presence in whatever objects. But to Zay, the idea behind this would be using a way to seal techniques that may otherwise overpower him. It was an interesting though, and of course easier said than done. But Zay would need to begin somewhere. And so, he would begin to exercise the steps recommended by Toneri. The first of which, was to prioritize the manifestation of chakra within his hands. Fuinjutsu seemed to always begin in the hands, since the seals were typically applied via tough. Thus, Zay began this process. By doing this, his chakra flow began to be redirected from the various parts of his body and to his arms. From there, the chakra would flow downward until it reached his forearms and finally his hands. Now with the chakra accumulating here, Zay could feel it increasing more and more. Subsequently, each of his finger tips began to glow with a red aura around them. The glow would widen and expand until it swallowed the entirety of each of his hands. It did not feel similar to what the sensation Zay experienced with either Shikotsumyaku or ninjutsu techniques. Instead it felt less draining and fleeing, but more concentrated and clean. This spoke volumes of the precision required for successful execution of fuinjutsu. As one false move could compromise the entire integrity of the seal. Therefore, Zay focused extremely on simply maintaining the form of the chakra aura that took shape around his hands. Now the next thing he would need to do, would be to evenly distribute that chakra into the tips of his fingers. With fuinjutsu, there were likely times where the user would need to shift the chakra to different portions of their hands, depending on where the contact would need to be made with the seal. So Zay practiced this movement of chakra, to better prepare himself for applying seals via his fingers and also through his palms. It was a strange yet simple routine, that would serve as a good foundation for the fuinjutsu techniques we would attempt.
When he felt he had exhausted this training exercise, he would still his chakra flow and the aura around his hand would quickly subside. Now it was time to really practice. He gave his body a minute to adjust and redistribute the chakra back throughout his body, and when it would he would form the seals required for the shadow clone jutsu. Subsequently a clone would spawn directly in front of him. This time, the clone didn't have anything to say. Instead he just stood there looking at Zay, already understanding the assignment. Zay associated this discipline with his increased experience with the shadow clone jutsu since last time. The clone would take several steps back, and brace himself. Zay would do the same thing, yet this time he would concentrate on the hand seals which Toneri had just taught him. There were seven of them. It was getting to the point where remembering so many hand seals for a technique was becoming difficult. Taijutsu and Shikotsumyaku were not like this, so the whole thing was a real adjustment process. In a sense, fuinjutsu seemed to relate a lot to ninjutsu via the hand seal requirements. But Zay understood this. Each seal seemed to target a specific chakra node within his body, and through combining several of them, jutsu were able to be activated. As his hands slowly went through the motions of performing the tiger, dog, ox, dragon, boar, rat, and then finally the tiger again, Zay could feel the different chakra nodes in his body pulsating in unison. He was starting to get a better understanding and control of the chakra within his body. As he concluded the string of hand seals, the finger tips on his left hand would again begin to glow brightly.
With a quick movement, Zay would merge his two hands together, successfully embedding the seal upon his right palm. Upon placement, the seal would manifest into the form of a small, black rhombus. Surrounding the diamond were a pattern of chains which would expand an inch out from the diamond in all directions. Zay would cast his gaze down upon the diamond, analyzing its shape. He would need to begin developing a memory bank of various fuinjutsu seals so that he could learn how to discern one seal from another. Once he finished studying it, he thought to himself "Seal of Absorption". Simple enough. Now with his left hand raised towards his clone, he would usher his fingers in a beckoning motion to instruct the clone to attack him. The clone would rip through a series of hand seals, and would inhale a deep breath. "Here it comes..." Zay thought to himself. Now as the clone exhaled, a single phoenix fire would come hurling towards Zay. It was nearly a point blank attack, as there had only been 2 meters separating the too. But this should serve as good practice, as maybe this is when the seal of absorption would truly lend itself useful. Raising his right palm forward, it would collide with the singular flame of the phoenix flower. The impact of the collision would jut Zay's right shoulder back slightly in recoil, but his pure strength allowed him to sustain the impact. And all in an instant, the flames of the jutsu would find themselves sucked in deeply into the seal upon his palm. Zay's eyes widened. This was exactly what he was looking for in a jutsu. And for him to be able to utilize some techniques would allow to protect himself from last minute attacks.
And with that, Zay would dispel his shadow clone. The surge of chakra returning back to Zay was now normalized, as he had grown to anticipate it. But this time, he truly felt as if his reserves were depleted. Having spent the entirety of the day training, it finally felt time to unwind, relax, and get some dinner. Hopefully his mom had prepared something heavy and filling. Zay would dust off his clothes, and look towards the direction of the highly experienced trio of shinobi. He had learned a lot today, not just due to his determination but also from the guidance of his village's shinobi. He was proud to be a Hoshigakure ninja. And his successful training session today further confirmed that he was destined to do this. Finally, he would head home. As he left begin the training grounds, he felt a trill of excitement. He wasn’t sure when he would return, but he would come prepared. Most importantly, he was eager to put the things he learned today to the test. But now, it was time to eat.

Re: Morning Cardio [open]

Perched and conventionally hidden upon a sturdy tree within the bustling Water Gardens, the presence of Enishi Kurosawa would be mostly unnoticed given the amount of attention placed on "cardio" by the denizens residing in the training area. Like the exalted Shiratori that watches over the land of stars, the Hawk of Hoshigakure would quietly observe the many Genin, Chuunin, and even Jounin who were training in the Water Gardens. Today, he decided to adorn a grey jacket with dark red and light grey details, grey pants, and black boots, and fingerless gloves. His jacket was left unbuttoned at the end to reveal a belt, which an emblem of Hoshigakure was attached to. He wore short gloves that exposed his wrists. He also adorned a red banner that goes across his chest and over his left shoulder, which changes from red to black to symbolize the shift between day and night - Yatagarasu from Shiratori. A symbol of his pedigree from the clan of berserkers, a red mask resembling that of a Shinigami was pulled to the left side of his head. On his right and left arms held his left and right sealing bands that he used to clap Zeo's cheeks with.
It seemed as though today was quite the eventful one, as many shinobi decided to train, collaborating with each other the secrets of the shinobi arts while simultaneously getting a lot of work done on their skills. Such a scene would have brought tears of exaggerated joy on the young Sage's visage, however, he desired to be as quiet as possible for the time being, watching over the people without making himself a distraction. The understudy thought that today wasn't going to be as crowded as it usually was since it was a weekday...however, he neglected the fact that Hoshigakure had gained an influx of Genin ever since the finale of the Chuunin Exams, meaning that the Water Gardens would become more and more crowded...
Anyway, Enishi decided that for the meanwhile, he would just watch and see how the new people carried themselves in the art of shinobi. He viewed many familiar faces and unfamiliar faces - Tsuna, Ayato Hyuuga the Hogokage, Toneri Hyuuga who was the brother of Ayato Hyuuga, the beautiful Natsuki Hyuuga who was the sister of Ayato Hyuuga, the ruby-haired shinobi named Kurayami who he met on his Chuunin promotion, his sensei - Akaboshi Uzumaki, and countless other Genin. One Genin stood out from the rest, however; she looked to be a young woman - resembling to be around the same age as Enishi physically with silver hair and a beautiful appearance...she also seemed to have similarities to the old Hogokage - Yasaki. Heh, did he have a daughter?
"Is...this...love?" Shaking his head frantically with a giant blush on his expression, Enishi nearly fell out of the tree he was hidden in before he gathered himself. No. He was a Chuunin first, a Knight second, and a lover never! What the hell possessed him to think about someone in such a way?! Suguru was probably sprawled on the ground, cackling at him in heaven; the mocker he was! Growling in having indecent thoughts, the understudy would finally gather himself, watching to see as more events unfolded. He came to the training grounds for a specific purpose anyway.
Challenging Toneri Hyuuga.
With a small smirk upon regaining frame, Enishi would watch as some of the Genin left once they were finished with their training, opening up the Water Gardens for a spar to actually happen. Once the Genin (who were exiting the topic currently) left, the Sage appeared in thin air, floating off of the tree and landing gracefully to face the group of shinobi training as well as the other groups of people and civilians who were watching the Hogokage's group in his valor. Most likely, the people in the area, as well as those who were watching the group's morning cardio, would step aside to make way for Enishi to walk towards the person he wanted to challenge. Without saying any other words, the Sage advanced towards Toneri Hyuuga, stopping just shy of fifteen meters away from him and parallel to his position. A slender finger from his right, pointed at the body of the blond Hyuuga would be the prelude of Enishi's bold declaration. The oceanic aura of Foul Legacy began to seep from his body, covering himself in an unknown force.
"...Hyuuga Toneri," Confidence was his voice. "I challenge you."
The peaceful Water Gardens...turned into a chattering land of disarray, confusion, and most of all...excitement. Many people would probably ask why the fuck some newly promoted Chuunin would challenge the brother of the Hogokage to a duel; it was the equivalent of some upcoming footsoldier challenging royalty to an honorable fight. Perhaps it was because the young Sage felt as though he could defeat Toneri in a battle - arrogantly so, perhaps it was so he could look extra cool in front of Ayato for no diff soloing his sus ass brother, maybe he wanted to impress that Genin chick he didn't know the name of, or most likely...he just wanted to get some practice in - it was Morning Cardio after all.
But one thing was undoubtedly certain.
The gauntlet was thrown.
