Not a Basic Checkup

The dark haired lass stood before the front desk within Kumogakure's well-known hospital. She had learned that the place was run by Ichigo himself, and his trusted assistance. So here she was, ready to seek some of his work.

Meika had sent him a written letter, the day prior from today, asking about an appointment. The letter was ordinary, with a hint of fragrance. Anyone who knew the basics of herbology, would be able to identify the fragrance as sage.

Now here she was, dressed with a casual shawl and normal attire underneath. The woman behind the front desk informed her that the doctor was noted her arrival. Surely Ichigo would be delighted.

Another day, another meeting. It seemed more and more people found their way to the hospital in order to pay Ichigo a visit, hoping the Head of the Medical Institute would be able to see them. This time the man had received a letter from Meika, the little troublemaker. In her message the Drunk read that she was wondering if it was possible to make an appointment, something the Deputy could hardly deny considering the time frame between the letter and the moment he received it. "Looks like things will get interesting" the man voiced as he poured himself another drink.

He listened as a voice suddenly came through the intercom, informing him about his visitor that had arrived. "Send her through Ichika, thank you". Assuming Ichigo's assistant showed Meika the way it would only be a matter of time before the kunoichi found her way to his office. Pressing the button beneath his desk the Deputy opened the door, letting it be known it was fine to enter his office.

The kunoichi was given the confirmation that the appointment was good to go. She was led through the hallways by the doctor’s assistant, until they came to a complete stop at one of the doors. The door opened to reveal the office. Her eyes wandered over to Ichigo as she made her entrance. Meika wasn’t very familiar with hospitals. So she couldn’t help when her curiosity convinced her eyes to get a little distracted by the room.

“I promise I’m not here to cause you too much trouble. . Doctor.” The title rolled across her tongue teasingly. “You have quite a mouthful of titles Ichigo. You must be a very busy individual. I hope I don’t take too much of your time.” Meika spoke with a sly grin.

She extends her hand out to the doctor, before revealing her prize. A Seigan eye she was hoping to transplant. Freshly received.

What was up with all these people getting their hands on random organs lately? "Déjà vu" the man voiced, Meika already being the third person who showed up with some DNA the last couple of days. "Don't worry, I have a feeling why you're here. Let's see what we got shall we?". The Drunk would take a look at the eye, recognizing and identifying it to be the Seigan. Ichigo informed the kunoichi about the dojutsu, explaining how it worked best with the element of water and Genjutsu, as well as the clan it belonged to. "Speaking of, I have something that might be beneficial to you and will do wonders in combination with the eyes of the Rentei clan". The Deputy walked over to his desk, opening one of the drawers to reveal his organ cooler before taking out a Hozuki kidney.

He then guided her to the operating table, assuming she knew what was about to happen. "This one is on the house" the doctor would smile as he prepared to perform surgery. Ichigo began with activating the Chakra Anesthetic technique in order to ease the unavoidable pain as five blue flames appeared at his fingertips. "You'll start to feel the effects soon" he said as chakra was injected into the woman's nervous system. After a couple of minutes the Drunk removed Meika's right eye from her socket before replacing it with the Seigan. He then performed a couple of hand seals in quick succession before forming a sharp, blue blade off his fingers. 

Making a cut big enough to replace her kidney with the Hozuki one he would swap both organs with one another. The Drunk would proceed by forming the hand seals for the Mystical Palm technique, his hands glowing a gentle shade of green. The healing energy of his jutsu would mend the damaged tissue, forming connections to the new eyeball without any difficulties. Ichigo continued to heal until he believed the process to be complete, repeating the same course of actions with the kunoichi's lower body where he replaced her kidney moments ago. Once the procedure was complete the Deputy adviced Meika to take it easy and rest a while longer until the effects had worn off. 

Ichigo would start cleaning up, giving the young lady time to recover. "I'll be at my desk if you need anything else" the man said with a smile.

Her curiosity only seemed to increase, along with her almost uncontainable excitement, as Ichigo mentioned having an additional gift for her. Her eyebrow arched as he received his cooler to withdraw the organ. “My my. . you are already my favorite doctor.”

The lass made herself comfortable on top of the table that was meant for the patients. The excitement that was bubbling within her, was the only thing helping her not get too nervous at the idea of being cut up. This was her very first experience with such a procedure.

The table wasn’t too cold against her back, helping her relax a little more against it. Her eyes concentrated on Ichigo’s fingertips, as they lit up with blue flames. She steadied her breathing, coaxing herself to trust his work. Her eyelids closed as he began the surgery.

As the surgery came to an end, the kunoichi allowed her eyes to open. Any mess that may have occurred during the procedure was already dealt with and cleaned up. Allowing her to adjust in a comfortable setting. Her fingertips would gently trace against her abdominal. The skin was healed and unscarred, but she could tell that there was something different. Like an unusual sensation. Or maybe it was just a mentality thing.

Ichigo was now at his desk, as he allowed herself some time to properly adjust. Being kind enough to not rush the lass as she gained her grounding.

Meika moved herself to the side of the table, letting her feet hit the floor. She was careful to avoid standing up too quickly, as she felt a little light headed. Despite that, all else seemed to be perfectly normal. Both her eyes were able to glance around the room without any trouble. Across from her was a mirror that reflected her image. The same raven - haired girl stared back at her. One pale ghost eye and one blue eye that was dull, yet still beautiful to possess. Having two different eyes was definitely something that she would have to grow accustomed to.
