Night One
Raikur moved over and over in his sleep as his dreams had decided to become far more vivid than he had ever experienced in the past. He was being attacked by steaks and salads of differing varieties, and he had no way of defending himself! When he was not being smacked in the face by a large porterhouse, he was being assaulted by large chunks of lettuce and tomatoes. The most frustrating was when the salad dressing would get involved, drenching him as he would attempt to run away, yet his legs just would not work like they were supposed to. It was at that point when he realised he was dreaming. Sighing in frustration, Raikur endured the endless onslaught of edible goods for what felt like an eternity. Were dreams always this long? It felt odd... Finally, his attackers had apparently gotten bored with harassing the now drenched young Shokku, and all returned themselves in a tidy fashion to a dinner table in front of him. It was a small and modest table, and it looked awfully familiar... Was that... HIS dining table?
Suddenly, Raikur jolted awake, his body felt damp and at first he thought it was sweat. But after a short moment, the Shokku realised that it was not sweat, but some form of salad dressing. He was confused, was he still dreaming? Was his nose just not functioning properly? What the hell was going!? Quickly getting out of his bed, Raikur stripped his sheets and placed them in the laundry, before promptly getting himself in the shower and rinsing away the smell and stickiness of the randomly appearing salad dressing. Something was very odd about all of this... After his considerably long shower had concluded, Raikur made his way out of the bathroom and towards his kitchen, feeling the urge to consume a late night snack. Walking out in his towel, the Shokku moved past the dining table, which had a lovely steak and salad sitting on it, over to the refrigerator. He spent a short time rustling through it before he froze.
30 seconds passed before Raikur slowly turned around and looked back at the dining table. Blinking several times to ensure that he was not going crazy, Raikur shook his head quickly and refocused. Sure as day, there was a delicious looking steak and salad right there in front of him. But that made no sense, Raikur had not cooked anything recently, and he lived alone so it was not like anyone else had made it for him. Suddenly feeling uneasy, Raikur quickly moved from room to room in his home, ensuring that he stayed aware of his surroundings in case there was an intruder in his house. But there was nobody around, it was just him? Besides, why would somebody break into his house and cook him a meal? Unless it was... poisoned... Looking at the steak for another short while, Raikur could feel his mouth watering. But his instincts would not let him take a bite out of it, for fear of ingesting something fatal. With sadness, Raikur picked up the plate and empties its contents into his nearby bin.
Noticing that there appeared to be a considerable amount of activity going on outside, Raikur decided to get dressed before leaving his house. It was an extraordinarily chilly night, which made everything even more confusing. There was so many people outside and they all had similar confused looks on their faces. He needed to figure out what was wrong, and fast. Taking his leave, Raikur left the Shokku district and moved towards the centre of the village, hungry for answers.

Quinn rarely dreamed and so on those occasions it was always a mixed bag of subject material. Upon this night it was a wild flurry of thoughts. Foods of different kinds and varieties danced across their mind as the recent food orientated missions seemed to have taken their toll on the Forgemaster. Waking with a sudden jolt of energy when they grabbed a flame, Quinn felt their hand warm to the touch but not burnt by a flame. Confusion would be nominal to say in this situation as now that they were up in the middle of the night, they were going to be up. Letting out a tired sigh, they got ready for the day though it was not long for their normal wake up time, Quinn decided it would be best to instead of attempt to sleep to go for a walk and possibly entertain the dreams with food. Walking up to their kitchen after getting dressed for the day the scent of their signature pepper poppers came to their nostrils and concern burrowed itself onto their face. Entering the kitchen and staring at a wide assortment of food, Quinn blinked and rubbed their eyes, even more confused than before.
Inspecting the food, they could not find anything inherently wrong though no ingredients were missing out of their cupboard, pantry, or fridge. Investigating the stove as compared to the hot steamy foods whose aroma lingered and enticed the Forgemaster, it was dead cold like a body stuck in a river. The concerns grew when Quinn heard more stirring around the business. As they lived in the market district of Otogakure, there was not many people who lingered in the area and especially this late. With thoughts and concerns now growing, they wished to consume some food at minimum but did not trust the food that laid before them. Not because they thought it was dangerous, but because they felt that their dream and thoughts were lingering heavy on their mind. The best avenue of approach would be to find other shinobi and ask if they too had encountered similar issues or problems. With that, they grabbed their headband and tied it to their upper left arm as become their standard and began to move forward with the loose investigation that was underway.
Reaching the center of the village, going through the streets and asking people to remain calm, Quinn spotted their friend Raikur who also seemed blistering for answers. "Raikur!" Quinn shouted some 10s of meters away waving and flagging him down. Seeing the young genin usually with a scowl on his face, the confusion brought concern to Quinn as they approached their friend. Once closer and a few meters apart, Quinn would begin talking as they continued to get closer, attempting to start a conversation and keeping it hush in case it could stir more problems for the village. "Strange dreams tonight. Food appeared as well. Major concern is why." They began and trailed off mentally a bit trying to recall what transpired the night before. It was uneventful leading up to that point in time. Their hand lingering on their chin in deep thought awaiting to hear what Raikur had to add to the affair, wondering if any others they were associated with would show up. As it seemed more and more things began to become problematic as a young girl seemed to be running from her parents with a stuff animal that rivaled Quinn's height.

Re: Spoooooky Season: Part One

Hanzo woke up from a really strange nightmare. The ones that he usually had was about father burning down the house with the same black flames that he possesses now and due to that same forbidden power, his mother passed away in his arms. He wiped his sweat off his forehead. The nightmare was weird and to say bluntly was a bit ghostly. Vegetables such as carrot, lettuce and tomatoes, were all in different shapes and sizes. These weird veggies were swarming him and assaulting him from various directions. "What a weird nightmare" he thought to himself while sitting up right on his bed. He had never experienced such dreams before, was it a sign or is his depression getting into him deeply. The Uchiha was simply confused and was in a dazed state. It was only when the dream became lucid, he was able to take control of it and with his willpower he dispersed the ghostly veggies.
With confusion in his mind, he got up from his bed and headed to the bathroom. He switched on the hot shower and washed himself as he was thinking about the incident. Once he was done, he came back into the room and dressed himself in his usual attire. He walked downstairs to the kitchen to have a snack before leaving out. Again, another weird incident confused him. There was a prepared food on his dining table. Hanzo was absolutely sure that he had not prepared a meal and someone might have entered his home when he was fast asleep. He immediately activated his Sharingan to take a look around from the staircase. He couldn't identify any other chakra signature except for himself. He checked the door and it didn't seem tampered. This was surely a weird day. Not wanting to take any kind of risk, Hanzo trashed the meal even though it looked appetizing and deactivated his Sharingan. As the wind brushed against his face, he could feel a weird sense of danger or something else in the atmosphere.
The Uchiha then adorned the Katana that was given to him by the forgemaster, to his back and walked out the door. As he was walking along the district, there was a faint atmosphere of distress. Hanzo wasn't sure if the others felt the same nightmare but hoped to see some familiar faces in order to check with them. His luck was on point, he saw Raikur and Quinn in the distance about 20 meters away, talking to each other. The Uchiha could see that his teammate had a stronger aura about him, he knew Raikur has been training late lately. It had been a while since Raikur had seen him and since his new look may startle him, Hanzo walked towards them calmly and once he was behind Raikur, he placed his right on his teammates shoulder "Hey Quinn! Hey Raikur! I assume both of you had some weird nightmare right ?" Hanzo said while resting his hand on the katana forged by Quinn.

Re: Spoooooky Season: Part One

Uchiha, Kaito awoke from his slumber in a stir; his face covered in a cold sweat. He huffed, trying desperately to catch his breath and to relax his now labored breathing. His wife, Amaya, groaned as she too woke up groggily.
"You okay, Dear?" She asked without much to back up the question.
"I'm fine, Amaya." The Otokage replied, collecting himself as his breathing slowed back down to a normal pace. He brushed her hair back from her face and placed a delicate kiss upon her forehead. "Go back to sleep now."
Amaya quietly obliged and turned herself around into a comfortable position. Within seconds she was sound asleep again and snoring lightly. Not wanting to disturb her more, Kaito carefully removed himself from the bed that they shared and quietly threw on a simple shirt over his bare upper body. It had been a hell of a nightmare he had; one where weird things were seemingly causing havoc all throughout the village. The Uchiha couldn't quite put his finger on what all had happened, but he did remember that towards the end of it all he had found himself back in his home within Otogakure's Uchiha District. Upon the table in this world of dreams was a fully decorated and beautiful assortment of food. Pies, fish, steaks, and so much more.
It was all too weird for Kaito, but his remembering of this dream had surely made him hungry. Noticing as well that it was still dark out, he knew now that he would never be able to go back to sleep. Deciding it best for him to take a midnight stroll around the village, he quickly shuffled himself into a pair of dark grey sweatpants, a fishnet tank top, his black gloves, and black shinobi sandals before exiting the bedroom and sneaking quietly and elusively down the hallway past Tatsuya's and Hanzo's respective bedrooms. As he made his way down the staircase into the kitchen, he could hear the back door close with a light clicking sound. The Otokage knew that Tatsuya didn't really dedicate himself to much of anything, so he figured that Hanzo had also awoken early to get in some training. The boy had sure come a long way since their first meeting, and Kaito couldn't have been more proud of his adoptive son.
As Kaito too walked to the door, planning on leaving for the day as well, the scent of freshly made food met his nostrils. Looking over at the dinning table he couldnt see anything, but as he turned his head to the garbage can next to the counters he saw it; masses of freshly prepared delicacies.
It had all been exactly what he had seen in his dream...
"What the hell?" Kaito asked, rubbing his temple with his fingers. "Strange things are afloat for sure..."
Trying not to think much more about it all, Kaito exited the house and made his way towards the village. Many people were awake as well, all making their way towards the village center as well. Knowing that something was up, Kaito closed his eyes to garner the location of Hanzo with his sensory abilities. He found the boy's signature within the village along with Quinn's and Raikur's signatures. Knowing now for certain that tings were amiss, Kaito activated his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan and used his Kamui to teleport himself to the location of the three genin. He would appear in a swirling fashion a few meters away from Quinn and his two students, and he would begin to make his way over to them all with haste.
"What in the world is going on here?" Kaito asked. "Have you all experienced or seen anything out of the ordinary, other than all the villagers making their ways to wards the village center anyways?"

[Skipping Raikur per discussion on Discord.]
With the arrival of Hanzo and Kaito, Quinn gave both an affirmative nod of recognition. In the background, Quinn observed a small girl dragging a stuffed bear 3 times her size with her dad doing most of the carrying of the weight. With the trio of genin accompanied by the Otokage now, the Forgemaster passed along greetings. "Good midnight. Nothing out of ordinary. Minus observed." They stated gesturing to the gathering that was forming. "Food appeared. Much too much. Forgoed and came here." They added in before awaiting any further responses. Shortly after they conversed, stranger things began to happen as monkeys with wings came towards the small gathering from the Sarutobi clan grounds and other beasts from another residential part of the village. Without waiting for further discussions or commentary, Quinn moved and acted as soon as they noticed the incoming creatures. Before speaking, Quinn remembered something as they grabbed a gauntlet from their pack and tossed it toward Raikur who was only a meter away. It was the gauntlet he had ordered a while ago from the blacksmith and he had been busy so they had not had time to pass it along to the Purple Spark.
"Deal with monkeys! I'll deal with these." They proclaimed as they headed to the grounded beasts, a better option for the more physical combatant that was Quinn. Pulling out a battle bat, a newly founded staple of Fosters' Forge, the Forgemaster went to work. The beasts were no match for the agility and power that Quinn's swings unleashed outward toward them. The clank of metal against the creatures as they ruptured releasing particles and soot that vanished once they were hit. However, they did not poof into a volume of smoke per how summons typically worked. The village was under attack in some manner but not by any conventional means. Unsure of it themselves, Quinn did not question it further than just the need to be present as the beasts near them flung themselves towards some stray villagers trying to figure out what was going on. Thankfully most of the villagers found themselves huddling together making it easier for the shinobi in the area, more explicitly the three genin and the Otokage himself, to act and defend them against the creatures of this strange night. Once the assortment of beasts was remedied along with the flying monkeys, Quinn returned lightly drenched in sweat from their swings of the bat. The bat itself not show any wear and tear or and bends in the metal, an excellent work of craftsmanship from the Forgemaster.
"Weird things are happening. Seems to have stopped. Should help get them home. Get rest ourselves. Much to worry about later. Morning will come soon." Quinn stated looking at the other three awaiting to see their own thoughts and concerns. Once things were fully settled, Quinn helped escort some of the villagers home who were bumbling and milling around after the strange encounter, a lot on the mind of the Forgemaster. There was never an edge of fear or worry in any of Quinn's commentary that night but there was doubt. This all seemed like a fever dream of some kind. The creatures were that of almost children's dreams and the foot itself that appeared, was also the same except it was from theirs. This had to be some collective weird dream but nothing indicated that it was not that. Their swings struck true and then the gauntlet was in their pack too. Not every little detail could have been as correct as what they saw and witnessed. Hanzo had the sword that they made him and Kaito's eyes were that of what they had witnessed at the Tournament of Sound. Tiny details that were spotted in major moments but were fleeting seconds. Shaking their head as they returned home, there was much to worry about.
Quinn awoke to the new proceedings as small little gremlin creatures had begun to form and try to take refuge within the forge. A few swings of the back sent them packing but it was starting to become worrisome as the village's leadership sent out a notice to remain calm and not to worry as it appeared dreams were seeping into reality around them. As such a new mission came up and Quinn was regrouping with other shinobi to begin the process to make sure that no further problems or complications came from such affairs. Dressed and ready to go in their shinobi attire, the Forgemaster had taken it upon themselves to outfit themselves in new equipment to better indicate their presence to villagers to help them at ease. With their headband on their arm as before, their more standard issue garb of the shinobi force adorned, Quinn Foster headed out for the day of the village dealing with waking dreams. Once at the meetup spot, Quinn waited for the others to arrive, uncertain of what was to come, but happy to be of help to the villagers who grew up in the same place as themselves. As their companions arrived, Quinn simply asked, "Sleep well?"

Just as Hanzo was speaking to Quinn, the Otokage joined them with confusion as well. No one knew what was going on. "Yea, we are on the same boat as you Otokage sama" the younger Uchiha replied. While they were discussing this phenomenon, they were alerted to the presence of weird creatures coming towards the group. The Forgemaster ran off to fight the grounded beasts while Hanzo was ready to fight the flying monkeys. The younger Uchiha was tempted to test out his Amaterasu and to showcase his newly acquired visual prowess to his mentor.
As the huge swarm of flying monkeys approached them, Hanzo stood still with his chest up and closed both of his eyes. The atmosphere was different this time, as if Hanzo was an evil spirit. With blood trickling down his right eye, Hanzo opened his right eye with his Mangekyo Sharingan and cast the Amaterasu at the flying monkeys that were 30 meters away and making sure none of them escape from his black flames. In a few seconds, all those flying pest were incinerated into ashes. Hanzo immediately deactivated his Mangekyo Sharingan and wiped the blood from his cheeks. "Hope that was good" Hanzo smiled at the Otokage. Just as Quinn had finished her combat and came back, everything was back in order.
"I think everything should be settled now, lets get home and rest up" responded. As Hanzo walked back, he thought about the whole incident as everything seemed real and they were not caught in any type of Genjutsu.
As usual, Hanzo once again woke up with a frustrating nightmare. He knew in his heart that something was wrong. This is the second time this happened and he became much more cautious. It became even more real as the village leadership had sent an announcement to remain calm regarding this issue. Since he was called up for another mission, he knew it might be related to the current incident that has been incurring in the village. Hanzo left his house in his usual attire with his katana strapped to his back. To have a little bonding session with his summoning partner, Hanzo used his Summoning Technique to summon Aryan. "Hey big boy, hope you are not having any nightmares" Hanzo smiled at the huge wolf that stood 15 meters tall. Hanzo then jumped on Aryan and mounted him and rode his way to the mission location and met Quinn. From the tall height Hanzo answered "Not at all, same nightmare again. Something is surely off here" Hanzo responded.

Quinn would quickly brief Kaito and the rest of the makeshift team in regard to what had been gping on. Apparently the massive amounts of food had not only appeared on the Otokage's table, rather it had seemingly appeared everywhere within the confines of the village.
'Very odd indeed…' The Otokage thought to himself.
Next would come the horrified screams of terror from the villagers. They pierced Kaito's eardrums with a chilling cunning, and for a brief moment he was taken back to a place in his mind that he had long blocked out; a repressed memory of fantastic magnitude.
For that brief moment he found himself holding the hand of a woman. They were running frantically as rubble from falling buildings collapsed all around them. He turned his head to look up towards the woman, and he was greeted with the sight of his adoptive mother. They were running away from something until a shinobi darted to their side.
"You two make your way to the bunker. I don't know how much longer we're going to hold out." He was sporting a Konohagakure flak jacket and crimson red Inuzuka warpaint. Kaito recognized him as his adoptive father. Suddenly, a man dawning Kirigakure armor appeared from a thick mist before them, weaving an immense number of hand seals. "Damnit!" The Konohagakure shinobi cursed. He sped up and threw himself forward, turning his body in quick fashion. "Tunneling Fang!"
It was then that Kaito had remembered where he had heard these screams of terror before; Kirigakure's attack and subsequent subjugation of Konohagakure during his childhood. Coming to his senses, Kaito realized that he had frozen in place; standing stiff as a board. It was in that time a group of flying monkeys had begun to terrorize the villagers. All havoc had broken loose, and all of the genin under the First Otokage's command had taken no time in getting down to protecting the rest of the villagers. Quinn had been using a sort of metal bat to beat the monkeys as they flew by, but Hanzo...
"The black flames..." Kaito remembered the words that Hanzo had once said regarding his father; that the man had killed the boy's mother with black flames that were granted by the infamous Mangekyō Sharingan. "He's mastered them for himself." Kaito looked on as the next generation of Otogakure shinobi fought on with valor and precision, and the Otokage could feel a flame of invigoration brewing from within himself. Wasting no more time, Kaito quickly formed the 'Ox' --> 'Monkey' --> 'Hare' --> 'Rat' --> and 'Boar' hand seals in quick succession. His chest expanded wildly as it filled to the brim with immense amount of water.
"Water-Style: Water Dragon Bullet!"
Exploding from his mouth, the roar of a dragon echoed throughout the village center as the water swelled out from Kaito's mouth rapidly. The water would take the shape of a raging dragon with golden eyes and an open mouth that revealed an innumerable number of teeth. The dragon thrashed around through the sky, consuming and spitting out the flying monkeys that Quinn, Raikur, and Hanzo had not already taken care of. Blood would splatter across Kaito's face, which extenuated the intense rage that burned within his heart and was lit up by his still active Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. Whether the genin present at the scene this evening would witness it or not mattered not. They would eventually need to understand the dark side of being a village official.
"I will not allow any harm to come to this village..." He said through gritted teeth. "I swear it..."
A coupe of days later in the Land of Sky, Otogakure...
Kaito sat upon the roof of the Otokage's Mansion. He had not been able to sleep ever since the night in which the flying monkeys had infiltrated the village, having experienced numerous nightmares when he would simply close his eyes to even attempt to catch some semblance of sleep. Instead he had decided it best to personally continue fighting the remaining bands of monkeys from within the village and the surrounding areas. In the scramble to defeat these monstrosities, however, a mission request had made its way to the desk in his office. A local family had lost their son to a world of dreams, where the boy believes himself to be some sort of 'Dream King'. Kaito knew that he would have to save this child from whatever it was that had been plaguing him, and he knew that Quinn, Raikur, and Hanzo were the most well equipped to help him in doing as such.
For that reason he too had assigned the trio to the mission under his tutleage, and it was there at the Otokage's Mansion that they would meet up before heading back out again. Quinn would be the first to arrive, and upon this revelation Kaito would jump down from the rooftop of the wooden building to the ground below.
"Good evening, Quinn." He said with a look of exhaustion. "Sadly I havent been able to sleep. Too much going on as of late." WIthin a moment's notice Hanzo too would arrive atop one of the Wolves of Death Gorge. Kaito had not been too familiar with this particular summon, but he still bowed to the dire wolf respectfully. "Ah, Hanzo. Sorry I've not been home as of late. How goes things at home?"

[Skipping Raikur again per discord discussions.]
With the trio of genin regathered under Kaito's orders, it was time to handle the Dream King's escapades to remedy the rather excitable young prospective genin. With the chatter about their rest and sleep all of them had finished and wrapped up it was time to get the mission underway. One task at a time was the current mentality that Quinn had in regard to the problems they faced. From a place of adulthood, Quinn stood well above the others in age even Kaito himself was younger than they were. With the concerns of a young child now on the makeshift squad's plate to manage it was just a matter of time before something would stir up more problems for the village.
Upon arrival, it was clear the child was one of those creative bunches as wooden-looking dragons formed sentries to a castle covering the building they were going to. The parents let the genin and kage into their humble abode before debriefing them further on the situation as the parents hoped to wake their child up but he had fallen asleep and has been murmuring that he proclaimed himself the 'Dream King' since then. A light chuckle could be heard from the Forgemaster as they turned to look at the others. "Let's make this quick. Much to do. Future at stake." they said with a smile looking towards the decorated door of symbols from the village with a drawn-on headband protector at the top of the door. Letting the others lead into the room, Quinn operated as support for this portion of the mission. Once they wrapped up and helped the kid awake, Quinn would help clean up whatever mess ended up becoming of the interaction. Be it toy soldiers coming to 'life' or a dragon's breath rolling down onto the squad, Quinn would spring and act to allow their teammates to make the mission a simple and clean success!
With the recent escapades of children's imaginations, the harsh reality of what came next was not something the Forgemaster wished to have seen. As the group finished their mission to help with the Dream King's recovery, the next on the list of things to worry about included helping a sensory squad with a sealing squad towards the outskirts of the village. There had been an anomaly forming within the village that needed investigating and thus it was on the squad to step up and help the other two squads out in this trying time. Quinn adjusted their bat off their back as they prepared for what might come with random creatures likely to spawn and form within the surrounding areas. Looking at Hanzo and Raikur giving a nod in affirmation to proceed, they turned to look at Kaito to see what their cell leader's thoughts were after the first mission as they prepared for the next one.
It was a first for Quinn to work directly with Kaito as they were aware that Hanzo and Raikur were on his official squad. Quinn had been assigned to Satoshi and thus worked under the Deputy Kage before anything else after they graduated from the academy. They adjusted their headband on their arm as the team took off toward the designated meeting spot. With anything going on in this world right now, there was still a lot to be discovered and thus, Quinn took mental note of what they could when they departed to make it toward the anomaly. Bat in hand, headband on their arm, their standard attire fluttering as they leaped from building to building to save time, Quinn's focus bounced around to the random flying monkeys to the castle that was dreamt up that protected the academy student to be. Something was really weird as they remembered they should have eaten better the night before.
Upon arrival, it was clear to the Forgemaster that there was something majorly wrong as what was best described as a Space-Time rift was present floating over a small pool of water in the park towards the northwestern side of the village. Staring blankly, Quinn turned to the others for more information and insight into what they understood was going on. Eventually, the two squads called out for their attention as something began to come out of the rift and attack the group. Steady and fast, Quinn watched as multiple creatures came out of the rift. Once the squad handled the group, it was another debrief on what happened before the group departed and moved onto the next in a series of long, sleepless days. Quinn remained quiet for the most part, waiting to provide their thoughts on the matter as it was important to them to see what could be learned and brought up first before interjecting their limited knowledge of what could be going on.

Just as Hanzo was conversing with Quinn, the Elder Uchiha arrived from the rooftop nearby. Seeing this, Hanzo jumped out of Aryan and landed on the ground and bowed to the Otokage immediately as a sign of respect. "All is well Otokage sama" the younger Uchiha answered. "This is Aryan, my summon. You may wish to make contact him if you ever need him. He's a gentle giant!" Hanzo answered humbly while petting his fur and desummoned after the conversation with the Otokage.
Once the team was debriefed regarding the Dream King, Hanzo wanted to end this nightmare for the young boy who seemed to have great potential of being a Otokage shinobi, judging from the decorations of his room. Hanzo would then ask everyone to move back a bit and stepped towards the boy who was still in bed. With a calm look on the younger Uchiha's face, he would use his right hand to open the eyes of the young boy and cast the Sharingan Genjutsu technique directly. Since this was a young boy, Hanzo made sure to make the dream space nice and beautiful and spoke to him in the Genjutsu world. After spending quite some time with the little boy in the dream world, Hanzo would deactivate the technique. Once Hanzo stepped back, the young boy would rub his eyes and sit up straight on the bed while Hanzo smiled at him. "Our work here is done" Hanzo would declare to the team. Luckily due to the technique being successful, there wasn't any mess.
Dream King was no longer a threat, as what comes next was. The team was to assist with the Sensory Squad and Sealing Squad in order to investigate an upcoming anomaly. Once they were at the intended location, a weird rift was seen forming with sounds echoing from it. Everyone on high alert and they were ready to deal with anything that comes from it. Once the two squads called out, multiple weird looking creatures stomped out of the rift. Without breaking a sweat, everyone cleaned the creatures out. Once the monsters were no longer a threat, Hanzo simply waited for the Otokage for his orders.

Kaito was glad to hear from Hanzo that everything back at home was going just fine, but the Otokage wished that he himself was able to go back there and actually sleep in his own bed. He would wait around for Raikur for just a little while longer, but it seemed as though the genin was preoccupied with other things at the moment. No matter. The sighting of different monstrosities all throughout the village was quite common as of late, so perhaps the lightning-release user had gotten caught up in helping some of the non-shinobi villagers.
"Alright, lets go."
Kaito would lead his subordinates to the exact meeting location, a quaint house that was now in severe disarray. With a knock upon the door a middle-aged man and woman would let them in, directing the trio to the bedroom of their young son. It really was decorated with a lot of shinobi memorabilia, and based on the way the toys were scattered all about, it was clear that he had been playing ninja at some point. A simple nod of Kaito's head would indicate his interest in having the boy enroll into the village's academy at some point in the future, but first they would have to save him from the grips of this so called 'Demon King'.
The Otokage would take a quick moment to think before engaging.
"The boy is in a powerful genjutsu from my understanding, and a very powerful one at that." He said, all the while stroking his goatee. "The only thing that can save someone from such a powerful technique, if it can even be called that, would be an equally powerful genjutsu or 'Genjutsu: Release' technique, both things of which I am not too adept at." Kaito would look over to Quinn, gauging from what he had known about her abilities whether it was something she could help with. As someone who focused on bukijutsu and taijutsu, however, it did not quite seem like an area of expertise for her. Instead he looked over to Hanzo, who just like himself yielded the Mangekyō Sharingan. The dojutsu was a powerful in regard to illusionary jutsu, so hopefully Hanzo had been practicing in the arts necessary to complete the mission. "How do you feel taking the lead on this one, Hanzo?"
Hanzo did not say a thing in response, rather he opted to head right into action. Kaito watched on with interest as the younger Uchiha activated his three-tomoe Sharingan and opened the child's eyes with his hand before activating a technique, which Kaito could feel due to his expertise in chakra sensory.
After a few minutes Hanzo would remove his hand from the boy's head and stepped back. The child slowly opened their eyes as they sat up in their bed. An impressed smile crossed Kaito's face.
"Good job, son." He said, patting Hanzo on the back as the child's parents cried in happiness while heading to embrace their son. "I'm proud of you." Kaito would lead the team out of the house before turning around to address them when the all arrived outside. "Alright, lets take thirty before we head off to our next mission. I recommend trying to catch a quick nap, or if you can't do that, try to grab a quick bite to eat. Either way I'll see the both of you at the rendezvous point directed to us by the Sensory and Sealing Division."
Thirty minutes came and went much quicker than Kaito had desired. He himself had arrived within a few seconds of Quinn and Hanzo taking their leave with the help of his Space/Time jutsu, but when the divisions debrief him on their findings the Otokage was not at all pleased.
"They seem to be coming from here, Lord Otokage," One of the division captains said. "the flying monkeys and other monsters, I mean."
"It works similarly to a normal Space/Time technique, though, am I wrong?" Kaito asked, trying his best not to sound ungrateful for his men's hard work and dedication. The man nodded. "Good. That means it works both ways." Kaito said as he formed the clone hand seal. A single clone of himself would be created and walked without hesitation into the portal. A minute passed, then two, then three. After what felt like an eternity memories of what the clone had experienced flooded back into his mind.
What he saw nearly made him puke from horror and disgust.
"What's wrong, my lord?" The captain asked. "What did your clone see?" Kaito looked up at the portal with his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan now active.
"Close the barrier as quickly as possible!" He exclaimed.
"We can't! Its too powerful!"
Kaito tsked at this revelation.
"Send some of your men to evacuate the citizens immediately! They have an army coming directly for us!" The men acted immediately, half of them heading off to do as Kaito had ordered. At the same time Quinn and Hanzo would arrive. "You two," Kaito greeted. "be ready to fight with all you've got." Almost immediately a horde of the creatures that the clone had encountered began sprouting to life from the open mouth of the rift. Hundreds of the flying monkeys flew through the skies above them, using their claws and fangs to tear some of the Sensory and Sealing Division to absolute shreds. Kaito acted quickly, using his 'Glass-Release: Glass Wings' technique to take flight as he drew his seldomly used katana from its scabbard at his hip. With precision he would take out many of the creatures as he rose, dove, and scurried through the skies above Otogakure with his beautiful and reflective wings. It surely was a sight to behold as blood covered the wings, Kaito's face, and the ground like a torrential rain. Despite the combined efforts of everyone involved, however, the creatures just kept coming and coming without fail.
Kaito had one last trick up his sleeve, but he was unsure whether it would actually work or not. He would focus his active Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan on the portal below him, and blood would rupture from his eye mercilessly.
"Kamui!" He exclaimed, doing his best to keep his vision steady. In quick fashion a new Space/Time portal would erupt directly in front of the previously developed one. This was the doorway to Kaito's personal Space/Time dimension, and over the course of a few seconds it would engulf the rift that led to the world of demons and nightmares. Once the rift was completely encased Kaito would close up the Kamui portal, taking along with it the previous rift that had formed. A sigh of relief overcame the Otokage as he dealt with the few remaining creatures in his vicinity and landing back upon the ground where Quinn and Hanzo waited. "Hell of a job, you two." He said as he wiped away the fresh blood from his face. "Those creatures shouldn't be a problem here anymore. I sealed their barrier away in my personal pocket dimension. They have the option to explore its endless void and starve to death or to go back to where they came from and continue living their lives without disturbing ours. Whatever that choice is, though, they hopefully wont be coming back." Kaito looked all around him, seeing the utter chaos that the creatures had caused. There was quite a mess, and many deceased bodies of the men from the Sensory and Sealing Division laid sprawled about. He would have to alert the Medical Corps to come and clean up their dead, but there would not be much that he himself nor Quinn and Hanzo could do in the meantime.
"I want you two to head on home and get a good night's rest, but keep on the lookout for anymore of these abnormalities." Kaito placed a firm hand upon both of their shoulders. "Well done, both of you. You keep proving yourselves like this and there may just be promotions in store."
As Quinn and Hanzo took their leave Kaito would send one of the surviving men away to the village hospital to recruit some assistance before he himself got straight to work in helping to clean up the mess that the otherworldly creatures had caused...
