Mission: Infiltration Training (C)

Tenizen was thrilled to be going on his first major mission since the not so good one on the train. He was feeling pretty confident about today's mission since it was only a training scenario. He was assigned to infiltrate a nearby store that opened up just outside Kiri and locate their surrounding campsites and hideout. For this mission he needed to collect all the information possible while staying hidden at the same time. It was imperative that  his identity wasn't discovered for any reason. This training mission from the village was designed to test his infiltration skills so he needed to treat this like it was life or death. If he wanted to make ANBU one day then he had to do especially well on this mission! This is what they do on the daily so he absolutely had to nail it!

The briefing he received about this mission made it sound a lot more fun than chasing cats and walking around on patrol like he has been doing as of late. Those training missions and E rank shenanigans sucked ass! This mission was more inline with his interests, skillset, and upbringing as an assassin! Suppressing his chakra was second nature to him at this point so sneaking and spying was usually easier for him then most. It helped that his small child-like stature made it easy for him to sneak in and out of heavily guarded places undetected. Infiltrating some lousy store was nothing compared to some of the real assassinations he had done growing up. This mission had his name written all over it!

Tenizen made his way over to the first location he was supposed to check out right as the shops around the village were hitting their morning rush. He made sure not to get too close to the store in question and blend in with the regular everyday foot traffic. From the outside everything seemed pretty normal about this place. There was nothing that immediately stood out as suspicious but already something was bothering Ten and he just couldn't put his finger on it.

People would go in the store and come out later with nicely wrapped parcels. The parcels had ribbons and bows and looked like ordinary Christmas or birthday gifts. From the window advertisements and display merchandise, it looked like the store was a toy store so that would make total sense. What didn’t make sense is that Ten looked for kids coming in and out of the store but he couldn’t find a single one! He was probably the only kid around for a few square blocks. Ten also found it odd that this brand new store had so many customers at a time of year when there were no major holidays. The whole thing was just fishy from the jump!

I am never going to be able to figure it out from here! I need to get inside somehow without being recognized. Maybe I can find a window or a door of some kind at the top of the store to enter from. There are too many people around right now for me to do it in broad daylight. I should monitor for a while and see what I can figure out about this store and its customers before going in blind. When it’s dark I can break in and take a look around to see what is really going on behind the curtains!

I can post up across the street on that building over there while I wait for it to get dark. It's far enough away from the store that nobody should be able to catch on or think he was spying, and I can also see everybody who goes in and out to keep tabs. I should create and then leave both shadow clones here to keep watch over me when I do break in! That way they could warn me if anybody is coming, getting ambushed or captured is the worst possible scenario for this mission!

Tenizen stealthily collected his seven katanas that he stored nearby before taking on his undercover disguise. He carried them over to the roof he designated for surveillance like a bundle of sticks and placed them out of sight from the people on the ground. He stood out on his hidden roof for hours while he waited for the sun to set. He kept notes on the clientele that went in and out and was thoroughly doing his homework. He got bored pretty quickly and started making up imaginary lifes for the people below him. These unknowing actors incidentally revealed something to him that he hadn’t noticed when he first started spying!

He noticed about every hour and a half a rotation of different customers would return to the store dressed slightly different than before. They would leave with a few more boxes of mystery goods then everybody else and always seemed extra tense looking. When Tenizen caught on to this he realized that most of the customers coming in and out were repeat buyers in disguise. They had already picked up stuff from the store and some had been in multiple times just since he started watching. It was a very obvious red flag!

What on earth are they trying to do? I need to see what they are smuggling in those boxes! It’s almost dark, not much longer now. The fake customers are coming back less and less as it gets closer to closing time. I just have to wait for them to close and the employees to go home.

The sun set below the buildings and the last few people exited the building with the biggest pile of wrapped parcels yet. When everybody was gone a man came and flipped the store sign from open to close. He locked the door from the inside then disappeared inside the store and away from Ten’s view. The young swordsman waited for him to re-emerge once he finished closing the store so that he could go home, but sadly he never did. Tenizen was too curious at this point to wait any longer. He had to take the risk and go in now. If he could get what information he needed quickly he would still have enough time to catch up to those last few parcels and follow them back to wherever they were taking them.

Ten made a few seals and two shadow clones appeared on either side of him. He didn't have to explain to them that their job was to keep an eye on the building and poof out of existence if they see someone entering the store. Since Tenizen remembers all their experiences when they disappear he would know what they knew. It was a crude strategy but it should work. Tenizen removed his civilian disguise to reveal his black ronin robes underneath. His two clones helped him equip his seven different katanas to save on time while he covered his face with a black cloth to protect his identity. The young boy was dressed like a professional but because of his youth and small size it was more comical than terrifying to see him dressed like an overarmed assassin! Needless to say he looked a little over the top for someone who is only ten years old.

Tenizen and one of his Clones took off to the toy store with a high speed dash. Ten took a well covered path up to the side of the store and up its wall with the surface walking technique.  He quickly maneuvered onto the roof while clinging to the shadows to avoid detection. He immediately began to search for a way into the building. The clone went around the store a much longer way so that he could set up on the building on the complete opposite side of the store as his other clone. Each clone now had a good vantage point on either side of the store and were still safely out of sight. If anybody tried to enter the store from any direction, Tenizen would be sure to know about it right away.

There has to be some type of opening up here somewhere that I can use to get in. I can’t believe this building doesn’t have a single air duct or chimney I can use to sneak inside.  In all my years of assassinating I've never seen a commercial building where you can't get in from the roof without blowing a giant hole in it! This is absolutely ridiculous. This place is completely sealed up like a prison.

With a giant grin Ten made his way across the roof until he reached the backside of the building where the dumpsters resided in the alley below. Ten jumped back over the edge and positioned himself so that he was clinging to the side of the building using the chakra in his feet. He prayed that nobody could see him, but he was pretty confident the alley was doing a naturally good job of hiding him. Neither of his clones had disappeared yet either so that was an encouraging sign.

Ten removed one of his swords from its sheath and began to pump it full of chakra. He used his samurai saber infusion technique to coat the blade in chakra and increase its cutting power drastically. Ten then proceeded to cut a basketball size hole in the building just below where the roof begins. His blade was so sharp that it was no harder than cutting a tender piece of steak. When he was done he would slip through the hole unseen. To further avoid detection he filled the hole in behind him with the original cut out piece to make it look good as new. He had cut it out so smoothly that unless someone got right  next to it, they wouldn’t be able to see that the wall was now damaged.

When he entered the building he had to be extra cautious about noise. From where he entered it looked like he was in the supply room. Dozens of crates filled every square inch of the store. It was way overboard for a basic toy store. The supply looked empty so he dropped down to investigate what was in the crates. He had to pry open one of the lids using his katana as a crowbar because they were nailed shut. When he opened the crate he wasn’t even shocked to see dozens of swords, kunai, shuriken, and sets of armor inside. It made sense now what was happening here. They were smuggling weapons out of the store to supply what must be a small band of bandits.

The sudden sound of footsteps and one of his clones suddenly disappearing caught him off guard and put him on high alert. The memory his clone had of witnessing four individuals approaching the store came flooding back to him. He slid the crate shut and launched himself in a flipping motion back onto the roof. At that moment the same old man who closed the store entered the building with a nervous expression on his face. A few moments after that and the same individuals his clone saw came bursting in behind him. Tenizen was too nervous to even breathe for fear of them noticing him right above them. Luckily they seemed oblivious to his presence because the biggest of the individuals started to finally spill some intel.

Most of the equipment has already been taken to the campsite east of the village gates. We are outfitting our men now in preparation for battle in case Kiri catches on to what we have been doing. By this time tomorrow we should have enough supplies siphoned away from the village that we can leave and never come back. You won't have to pretend to be a dumb store clerk anymore boss, you can resume your role as leader of the Myu-Myu gang. Once we steal all the available weapons from the village we can sell them to the neighboring villages for twice as much. Since we will control the lion's share of weapons in the land of water we will surely become rich warlords. As long as the village doesnt catch onto us that we are stealing from them before tomorrow then we should get away with it no problem. By the time they catch on that we are stealing from them we will be in a completely different nation!

The big oaf sounded so cocky and confident about their scheme. Personally, Tenizen thought it was a retarded idea! Robbing someone with more people, weapons, resources, and straight talent seemed foolish! It would be a death sentence! Criminals usually aren't the smartest people in the world, if they were, then they wouldn’t be criminals in the first place!

Now that he knew where they were taking the weapons, Tenizen stealthily exited the shop and made his way to the campgrounds described. It didn't take long to stumble on the people carrying the packages on the outskirts of the village. By following them from the shadows he was led directly to the campground. The small camp of miscreants were loading a pair of wagons with the weapons that were piling up. A few drunkards jested around the fire and a small group of men were standing in front of the largest tent.

That tent is where the boss is sure to be. It will be hard to get in with the guards outfront. The village would want me to put an end to this entire charade. I should wrap this up quickly!

Tenizen made a couple hand seals and 2 clones appeared by his side. Tenizen would send one clone to attack the people loading the wagons, and the second clone would attack the ones standing around the fire. The real Tenizen took in a deep breath and activated his Total Concentration Breathing. With his increased speed he blitzed the main tent. The three clones attacked simultaneously and wreaked havoc on the entire camp before anybody even knew what was happening.

The clones used their way of the seven stinging sword fighting style to just mow through everyone he came in contact with. He used the backside of his katanas when he attacked so that he didn't kill any of the smugglers. The main Tenizen was moving so fast that the guards outside of the tent were all defeated before the first body even had time to hit the ground. He made his way into the tents where there were three more guards and a well armored man who clearly stood out as their commander. Ten’s clones had made quick work of their assignment and were already beginning to pile up the bodies and use nearby ropes to secure them.

The real Tenizen took down the commander and his guards in one fell swoop. His seven swords made short work of the four men. Ten’s speed and skill with the blade was just too overwhelming for them to counter. Ten added the four to the pile and joined up with his two clones. He sent one of his clones to go grab assistance from the village so all these bandits could be arrested. In the meantime he would wait there and stand guard with his clone. It was basically  mission accomplished from this point!
