Montague Hebi was pleased with how his training has been going, but now decided that it was time to start making a name for himself. First he needed to do is get his name into the missing-nin scene as someone able to be violent. He had been when asked to collect a trinket from an old lady, killing both her and her son, but he had disposed of their corpses. This time, he had to make sure to leave them right out in the open; leaving something to claim it as him.
Hebi figured that one of the best ways to make a name for himself, is to kill a family of innocents; people who are common day, barely have a name for themselves. He walked along the road, until he heard a a wagon coming. First he performed the Mist Generation jutsu. Though it was not as good as his Hidden Mist Technique, it covered a wider area, and still let the family see.
Hebi left the road, waiting for the wagon to get in closer. It was still day time, yet thanks to the Mist Generation jutsu, his blood coursed with the power of night time. As the wagon got closer, Hebi was able to pick up the voices that was hidden by the sound of the wagon. From the voices, he picked up what he assumed was a family of five. As they got closer, Hebi worked on his plan.
Hebi was not his birth name, though Montague was his family name. Hebi was another name for snake, and was the name he picked upon his awakening. He would write his name, in the family's blood, mixed with the symbol of Kirigakure. As the family came closer, he knew that it was the time to put his plan into action.
As the wagon got within range, Hebi performed the Hidden Mist Technique, surronding himself, and the family, with mist. He could hear the family question what was happening, of where the mist came from. With his eye sight and his sense of smell, Hebi was able to pinpoint each of the people, by the sound of their voices, by the sound of their breathing, by the sound of their heartbeat, and the smell of their blood.
Hebi dashed towards the wagon, deciding which one to kill first, to cause the greatest sorrow and message. He choose to hear the parents cry with anguish as their youngest screams, being killed, while they are unable to do anything; blood of the infant splashing upon their face. As he did not wish to leave any clues, he drew out a kunai.
"LISTEN!!!! LISTEN AS YOUR CHILD SCREAMS FOR YOU!!!!" With a slice of the kunai, Hebi silenced the baby, and sprayed a mist of blood onto the family. The two kids screamed out in horror, as did the parents. He then grabbed the two kids, threw them into the air and drew another kunai, and as the children fell, he sliced their throats. The parents cried in aganoy, until Hebi threw the kunais, buring it into their throats.
The mist, tainted with the blood of the innocence, faded away; the scene of horror met Hebi's eyes. His nose was filled with the smell of blood, fueling his blood lust. Hebi walked over to the parents, and pulled the kunais out of his victims throats. Then collecting the blood of all five of the family members, he drew a symbol onto the side of the wagon, before fading into the night
Hebi listened in as people whispered of the horror found, of the family slaughtered in cold blood, of the symbol written in blood.... of the one they call "Snake of the Mist", of him.
I am coming.... Beware....

The life of a missing-nin is a dangerous one. One of the easiest ways to make it both less and more dangerous is to make a name for yourself. By doing this, not only are you more likely to get some contracts thrown your way, but also the weaker ones stay away. Of course, you might make it into a bingo book or two, so be careful.
It is simple, kill the small family that is traveling, and make a show about it.
