An encounter with a missing ninja!
Thu Mar 10, 2016 7:40 am
Getting to the training grounds early Ryu noticed something out of place. It was a man just sitting by the entrance. The genin approached. "Everything okay sir?" As he peered at the mans face, Ryu took up a defensive posture. "Oh, crap. Your a missing ninja." Ryu backed away and pulled out a kunai. "I have to protect the village." Ryu jutted out with his blade but stopped short. "Please come quietly as our village has recently adopted a no killing policy!"

Salzem was leaning against a wall of a house near the training area, arms crossed and eyes closed. He was taking a short.... nap, enjoying on of the cooler days in the desert. Just as his mind was about to fade into the thoughtless pool of sleep, someone's voice broke his peace. Salzem opened one eye, revealing a sanguine orb that rested in the socket, glaring at the stranger who'd disturbed him. He looked like any other ninja patrolling around town,, though the only difference seemed to be that he had the gall to just openly declare his arrest right there in the center of suna. He didn't seem to be aware of the Kazekage's stance toward him, nor did he seem to possess the manners to ask his business there. Obviously, this kid was a fresh genin trying to prove himself to his village. Salzem looked down at the ninja's hand as it whipped out a Kunai from his weapon pouch and Salzem sighed in resignation before pushing himself off the wall he was leaning against and tucked his hands into his jacket pockets. He wasn't going to really fight this upstart, but nor was he going to just let him move Salzem to another cell. The most he could do was give the kid a warning of sorts.
"Listen, kid. I don't want to fight you. If you attack me, you're not going to like what happens next." With that, Salzem simply waited for the child to start swinging. He honestly didn't expect him to just put down his blade and go about his business. They never do, do they? Salzem sized him up, making general observations in the way he held himself, his visible muscle mass, and how much confidence he held in his gaze. It seemed that Salzem's initial observation of the kid was wrong. He was more green than he initially thought. Oh well. Whatever happened, this kid brought it on himself.

"One moment!" Ryu pulled out his bingo book and began flipping through its contents. "That definitely looks like you." Putting the book down Ryu raised his hands to fight. "I can't just let you walk around if you are a threat to the village." Ryu made a kick attempt against the unknown ninja. He didn't expect the kick to land as he was bad at taijutsu, but he tried none the less. "I'm Ryu Reinhard ninja of the hidden sand, nice to meet you."

(Okay. Battle start :3 So... You have stats! Without mentioning the force of your kick, the attack can be vagued left and right. They way a general attack would be stated is like this: "Dude kicked with a Strength of 20 and a Speed of 40" you also have to state where the kick is going to land)
Salzem's patience was wearing thin with this kid, especially as he whipped out his bingo book to check who he was looking for. Of course, he was surprised he was even mentioned in such a thing. Apparently they update regularly. Then, out of nowhere, the boy attacked. It was about as spontaneous as lightning itself was, just flinging a kick at him. Unlike lightning, however, the kick was weak and slow, almost as if he wasn't even trying. It was little effort for Salzem to simply step to the right, out of the way of the kick. This opening move was so dreadfully dull that, out of the both of them there, it was Salzem who was having the worst time. Did the kid forget about the knife he held in his hand? This kid didn't seem to know anything about what he was doing. The mere fact that he was trying to stop someone like Salzem from hanging around with skills like that, well... he was just humiliating himself. He hoped this kid actually tried to hit him because if he didn't, this was going to be very short.

Ryu kept his kunai out in case the ninja opposing him did lash out. Perplexed that the other ninja was just dodging Ryu couldn't help but ask. "I can't hurt an opponent who isn't fighting back. Could you please come willingly?" The genin watched this mysterious man in case he tried anything funny, while awaiting a response.

(keep in mind yer reaction time: 60 + yer speed stat)
Salzem raised an eyebrow at this kid's statement.
"....You.... what....." Salzem couldn't even manage a sentence with the confusion going through his head. He is a ninja! He is trained to exploit weaknesses like not fighting back! What world did that kid live on, because it definitely wasn't this one. Salzem decided he would fight back, but very mildly. Still with one hand tucked away in his front Jacket pocket, he stepped forward toward the kid at a speed of 40. Salzem would be moving fast, but not even half of what he was ultimately capable of. He would be in a foot in front of the kid in an instant and he would cock his free fist back and toss it at the kid's face lazily at speeds around 20 and strength around 20. If this attack hit, it would likely ring the kid's bell or... you know.... lay him out. He hoped for the latter because he was starting to annoy him heavily.

(So with a reaction time of 80 I assume I'd be able to dodge?)
The ninja’s face took on a more sinister look as the smile he wore on his face began to widen. "Oh, thank god." Ryu said as he moved out of the way of the blow to his face and moved over to the side. The young shinobi ran towards his foe full throttle at speed 20. "I was really hoping you would resist, I love to fight!" Slashing at the rogue's upper forearm with the kunai at strength 15 and speed 20. The genin really hoped he would hit the man before him, if he could take out this ninja’s arm he wouldn’t be able to cast any jutsu that could hurt him or anyone else in the area.
With adrenaline pumping faster with each passing second, it felt like Ryu’s heart was beginning to pound with an audible pulse. For this ninja this was not one of the play fights he had done in the academy, this was real shinobi versus shinobi, this was life and death. The feeling was just as exciting as it was terrifying. All of the training Ryu had done was for this reason to protect those in the village and to that end Ryu would give his life and soul.

(Lets try jutsu. BTW can't use B-Rank until 30 chakra, A-Rank Techs at 50 and can't use S until 70 or higher. Jutsu cost AP. Total AP is determaned by stamina number x100
Salzem stepped backward and retracted his arm as the kid took a swing at his arm at speeds of 40. The knife would only strike the air where Salzem was standing. He slipped his hand back into his jacket pocket, still slightly bemused by this whole scenario. All he was doing was was resting against a wall and now he was in a battle with some genin? Salzem sighed, despising people like this. Why couldn't he have a moment to himself when he asked for it...?
"Are we done yet?" Salzem yawned. He hoped to the high heavens that the kid would just go away so he didn't have to hurt him. Too bad. Throughout this fight, Salzem would simple continue to dodge the kid's attacks, showing little care for this fight at all.

Ryu's eyes attempted to follow the speed at which the other ninja's arm moved to dodge the blade, but lost sight of it once it entered the man's pocket. He is definitely holding back, his movements are quick and he could easily over take me, so why isn't he? Is he not as bad a man as I thought? Ryu placed the weapon back into his pouch. I need to use jutsu if I want any chance of winning.
Ryu made a few hand seals and shot six flames from his mouth all of which were about a meter in diameter. They all converged to where the missing ninja was standing, but the upper most one seemed to be more focused than the others and curved in an attempt to catch the foe off guard and slam into his chest. Ryu watched to see if the ninja would be able to dodge all six and the one he was controlling. If he managed to, the genin would know for sure that he was way over his head messing with this guy. As far as options go what do I have. There is the option to retreat, I have two smoke bombs or I could use the great fireball jutsu. Option three is to stop attacking this guy like he asked and just talk to him.

Salzem blinked tiredly as the kid tucked his knife away and took a few steps back. He then began a string of hand signs before spitting out a few tiny fireballs at his torso. All but one seemed to converge on him at a speed of 20 and, at the distance they were between each other, maybe that would have been a decent attack if he were fighting someone in his league. However, currently, Salzem was in another plane of power compared to the kid so an attack like this is worth nothing to him. Again, he took out his right hand from his pocket and, at speeds of 100, proceeded to strike each fireball with a straight punch (strength 40) as each converged before slipping his hand back into his jacket pocket. Salzem's hand was coated in the steel of his gauntlets so the fire wouldn't touch his flesh and, whats more, is that at these speeds, it would appear to the kid as if his fireballs had defused just short of their targets. Salzem would have appeared not to move at all, appearing as if he stopped the fireballs with some kind of invisible barrier. He looked oddly at the kid, wondering why he was still going on the offensive. Had his previous demonstration not shown the rift between them? Why was he still fighting when the odds were so astronomically stacked against him? Some "ninja-way" garbage or something.
"Hey." Salzem called to the kid. "Why are you still attacking me if you're this outclassed?"
