Journey on getting stronger (P) (Sal)

"So... uh... all things considered... your world hasn't changed all that much, kid. Just go with it and see what happens." This was one of the things Sal said. Ryou agreed, he wasn't about to let this drag him down with his goals and reasons to become a shinobi. He smiled at Sal, returning Sal's gentle smile, hoping that he would get uncomfortable. Before they could say anymore, there food and drinks arrived. Ryou's mouth watered seeing the hot red curry. He always wouldn't wait to eat the curry, especially if his aunt made it. He opened his chop sticks and started eating it. Of course since he didn't wait for it to cool, he burn his tongue. He dropped his chop sticks and drank the water that came with it. Once it cooled his tongue he kinda laughed. "Um...Oops."

Finally... their food had arrived... At least now he'd have something more to do than help this kid get comfortable with who he was. He didn't care if this was part of his job as a higher-ranking ninja, ally or friend but he wasn't going to be playing therapist all day. He doesn't get paid enough on his salary and he was fairly certain the therapists don't get paid enough for their job either. Ryou began eating his food like a mad-man while Salzem began sipping his juice rather causally, taking his time to enjoy the mix of cold and sweet-tang the juice provided. Instead of looking ahead and watching Ryou embarrass himself chugging down hot curry, the lycan looked out a window beside their table as he sipped, somehow having a bad feeling... that something was going to happen soon...

Of course, the sound of the kid chugging his water down like he was dying of thirst wasn't something easily ignored, not by the most disciplined ninja on earth and certainly not by him.

"'Oops...?'" Salzem mimicked, looking at the kid's plate, to his cup, to the kid himself, Ryou laughing somewhat as if he'd told a joke. He wondered if he did this all the time with spicy food, shoveling it into his mouth before forcing it down with a heaping wave of water... He wouldn't want to be him a few hours later... Salzem was certain.

"What kind of curry do you eat, kid...?" He asked, kind of incredulously. "I mean... stuffing your face like that... that can't be healthy." Salzem glanced at the kid's water again, noting at how low it had gotten in that one mighty slurp. Being the selfless person he obviously is (or wants to be), the sanguine-eyed ninja pushed his ice water in Ryou's direction, allowing it to substitute for his mostly empty cup. Salzem didn't really need it anyway... He had juice.

"Relaxed yet?" Salzem asked as he rolled his eyes, referring to the kid's OBVIOUS FLIRT ATTEMPT earlier this day.

"What kind of curry do you eat, kid...?...I mean... stuffing your face like that... that can't be healthy." Sal say as he pushes over the ice cold water. Ryou took a deep breath and took the water more normally, instead of a dehydrated loony. He took normal sized gulps. Once he gulped down the water, he put the cup down and looked at Sal again, "Sorry..." He was super embarrassed Sal had to see that. "Relaxed yet?" Was Sal's next words, obviously mocking Ryou flirting with him. "Don't be an asshole." Ryou laughs a bit. Ryou took his food and began to eat normally now that it wasn't super hot. Occasionally taking the ice cold glass and drinking it.

The lycan smirked as the kid finally began to eat his food with dignity, taking smaller gulps of water from the water offered to him every so often. Ryou's statement for him not to be an "ass" only made the lycan smile a little wider.

It wasn't long after that the two of them had finished their respective meals and, as promised, Salzem paid for the food, though he flinched at the bill. Whatever the kid ordered, it must've been the second most expensive thing on the menu... or was it his juice...? He didn't bother to look at who's thing cost what, instead just glancing at the total cost. Still, he paid for the lunch like he said he would, walking outside with his little ninja friend in tow before reaching a hand down and ruffling the kid's hair. He smiled, though it seemed slightly strange... Something was baring down on his mind and heart, though it wasn't readily obvious what.

"Hey, Ryou, I gotta go. I have to meet someone for something important..." Then, if Ryou would let him, Salzem would use his vast strength to pick the kid up and pull him into a hug so that they were eye-level, holding him tightly as if he might disappear the moment he released his grip. The last thing he wanted was another little boy to die... If he saw another child bite-the-dust in front of him... it might just do him in.

"Be safe... okay?" Salzem asked, setting the boy down. "I have a feeling... something's going to happen... soon." And with that cryptic statement said, Salzem would disappear in a cloud of sandy smoke, leaving Ryou alone to contemplate his words.

(Exit, claiming nothing)

Ryou left with Sal after he got done paying for their meal. Once out, Sal gave Ryou a strange hug. The hug felt like he really cared for Ryou, of course not like Ryou felt. This only made Ryou tighter right back at him. "Be safe... okay?" Sal asked after putting the genin down. He nods. "I have a feeling... something's going to happen... soon." Those words made Ryou worry. Before Ryou could say something like "Be safe", he left with a puff of smoke. Ryou bite his lips, as he would do when worried. He would head home hoping to see Sal again.
