Innocence Lost: Part 1
Sun Sep 24, 2017 8:36 am
The silver haired Chunin known as Kenshin Uzumaki would find himself walking through the streets of Hoshi, a dark smirk fixed firmly upon his usually impassive face as he made his way towards the usually bustling gates of the village. The shinobi was clad in his usual outfit, a pair of dark grey dress pants held up by a black leather belt, and an off white dress shirt with a black tie fixed firmly around his neck, over which he wore a buttoned up, long black trench coat. On his hands he wore a pair of fingerless, black leather gloves, and on his feet he wore a pair of rather worn looking black boots, his dress shoes having long since fallen apart due mostly to the stress caused to them by his shinobi lifestyle. As per usual his silver mane was allowed to flow freely down his back, stopping just above the small of his back. The only sense of styling that the hair was given was a single braid that hung from the right side of his scarred face and hung down to his upper chest. All in all the silver haired youth was a rather unique sight to behold for the people of Hoshi, but then again most of them should be used to said sight by now, seeing as he had lived in this village for around a year and a half now.
Yes, it had been a year and a half since the young shinobi had pledged his service to the village of Hoshigakure...and he could honestly say that he didn't regret the decision in the slightest. In the small space of time since he had sworn allegiance to Hoshi he had gone from an extremely weak and admittedly pathetic excuse of a rogue ninja to one of, if not the most, powerful Chunin in the village. In fact, Kenshin was fairly certain that he was more powerful than most of the Jounin level shinobi of Hoshi...or at least he felt that he would be able to defeat most of them without too much effort on his part. But despite that belief Kenshin was most definitely not eager to prove such a thing, not because he feared that he may have overestimated his own strength, but because he knew that should he fight any of the villages Jounin and win he would be thrust into the spotlight, and for one such as he being in the spotlight was a rather terrifying prospect. He was more than happy staying where he was now, hidden away safely in the shadows of those that prefer to dwell in the light, as it was he was a shadow, an unseen and unknown blade poised to carve out the throats of his enemies.
Ah, but that’s enough of that, let's get back to the story shall we. As Kenshin continued his walk to the gates of Hoshi he thought back to what had just happened. The day had started just like any other, with Kenshin waking from his slumber and doing his usual morning rituals before eating breakfast and making his way out to one of the villages least used training grounds. Once he had arrived and ensured that there was nobody using the training ground he began to train in the same way as always, following his carefully designed training regimen to the letter. As per usual he had stopped his training at midday and made his way back to his apartment, where he had a cold shower and changed into a clean set of clothes. Now, at this point Kenshin would usually make his way over to the Unseen University and use one of the many labs of Hoshi’s Research and Development department to perform various tests and experiments, but today he had chosen to do something different. For some reason it felt as if he had been...stagnant, for the past few months, and upon looking back on what he had accomplished over the past few months he discovered something rather shocking...he had been. Over the past few months he had accomplished absolutely nothing, he had made no breakthroughs in any of his experiments, he had not created any new poisons or useful serums, he hadn't even managed to learn any new techniques.
All in all Kenshin felt that a change was needed in order for him to get out of this slump, so on a whim he decided to request a mission, and upon seeing the mission that he had been assigned Kenshin was more than a little excited. The mission was to go and exterminate a group of bandits, meaning he was actually being paid to go out and kill bandits, something that he usually did at least once a week in order to release the pent up anger and frustration that he felt towards the people of Hoshigakure. However, there was a downside, he had been assigned a partner for the duration of the mission, and as most people who knew Kenshin could attest, he was not exactly a people person. In this case though, he was more than willing to put up with whomever they decided to send with him, at least as long as they did not get in his way. He found himself hoping that at the very least it was someone he was familiar with, perhaps Genevieve or Ayato, but with the mission being an A-rank he doubted the village would assign a Genin to be his partner, and unfortunately Genevieve was still a Genin. Ayato on the other hand had been promoted, but since said promotion he had not seen much of the Hyuuga...but then again that wasn't exactly strange in a village the size of Hoshi.
By this point Kenshin would have reached the gates of Hoshigakure, and as was the norm for this time of the day there were very few people waiting to allowed in, most arriving either early in the morning or later in the afternoon, so as to avoid the harshest hours of the desert sun. Uncaring of the harsh rays of the sun that shone brightly overhead Kenshin would exit the village of Hoshigakure and begin making his way into the desert, his destination being the main border crossing of Haven Country and Shadow Country, where he had been told was the assigned meeting point for he and his partner.

Re: Innocence Lost: Part 1
Wed Oct 04, 2017 1:31 am
It was a Gloomy Day in the village hidden in the stars. Clouds blocked out the sun as a slight rain drizzled down from the heavens. Looking out of her window, the Chestnut haired Jounin groaned. Normal on a day like today, the teacher would be making her way out of the village and toward the academy in order to teach lessons to the new students. Maybe she would be going to the Kozai Yuki Archives in order to complete further research on space time ninjutsu. Or lastly, maybe she should of been placing more seals on the shinobi of the village hidden among the stars. Either way, the last thing she wanted to do was to go out in this weather and complete a mission, even more so one that had her embracing the outside lands that were far beyond the walls of the village. This wasn't as much because she was scared of being out of the reach of the protection that the walls provided, as much as it was that the girl didn't want to thread through the Muddy sand.
Either way, the Hikari Namikaze was putting her hair into a pony tail as she had these thoughts, she Already had her Jounin outfit on, her mini dress, her leggings, and ll her weapons in the proper location. With that, Hikari would start to head out toward the location of the mission.
As the woman made he way to the location, she opened a scroll with her exact orders inside, and read them. The girl had skimmed it before, but she hadn't read it. Looking over the note it read as follow.
To Hikari Namikaze,
Three days ago, a group of travelers were making their way to our Village were attacked by a group of bandits. Of the travelers, only one of them made it out to give us this information. According to this shaken up civilian, there were apparently four bandits that attacked their group, and while they didn't show any ability to use jutsu, they were able to preform feats beyond that of a normal human being. Due to this, we presume that the bandits come from the group of the Jaws of Grima. Yourself, and Kenshin Uzumaki has been asigned with the task of hunting them down, and either bringing them in for questioning, or eliminating the targets.

The Fuinjutsu expert of Hoshi shivered as she heard this. Wha....what was this about? The Chestnut haired girl couldn't belive this.... was.... this this for real? The Jaws of Grima.... the notorious group that had been responsible for the slaughtering of the entirety of Hikari's family? The girl thought back to that fateful day where it happened.....
"Hikari! Hikari! Wake up! We have a busy day today! The Tei Wong Family is coming today!" It was around dawn in the late of winter, as the chestnut haired teenager woke up to her mother yelling, as she turned on the Futon that she had slept on. Looking out her window, she saw a gentle snow falling from the sky and covered the world in a soft white blanket. The girl looked over at her alarm clock, 6 A.M.
'Darn it!' Hikari thought to herself as she quickly got out of her bed and quickly ran to the bathroom to get changed. She had overslept! Usually, walking up so early in the morning was far beyond the teens normal routine, but today was a very special day.
Today, a Noble family known as the Tei Wong Family was on there way from their home village toward Hoshigakure. Normally, the no one in the small town would really care about a big family heading to a big city. However, there was a big difference from this situation, and whenever another noble family comes around, is that the other family was actually coming through town. Usually, that wasn't such a big deal, cause for a little celebration? Sure. Cause a big celebration? Nope.
What was the big deal was that the Tei Wong Family was going to stop at the town in order to have some tea at a small tavern, namely, Hikari's family's tavern. It was truly a big deal for the small family, If they could only get a positive view from a large family, there small tea shop might become a well known attraction. Anyone traveling from Haven would stop through the small town and have a meal at the humble restruant. That wouldn't just bring Hikari's family a large sum of money, but would also make the small town into a booming tourist town.
With that in mind, the chestnut haired would finish putting on her Kimono robe, and would head over to the main serving hall to start cleaning before the day started.
While thinking of these thoughts, the Jounin walked straight though the gates of Hoshigakure, without really noticing it, and to the outside of the village, and almost walked straight past Kenshin who was waiting for her outside of the village, before she noticed her surroundings.
The girl would look around, and see Kenshin off waiting for her (Probably looking at her, trying to figure out what the heck she is doing, but I'm not going to Godmod him.) The Chestnut Haired girl would quickly make her way over to Albino Chunin and say, "Oh, I'm sorry about the hold up! I got...... distracted..... with my own thoughts....." the girl would say, trying to give an explanation, but not wanting to explain about how she was nervous about this mission. Along with that, Hikari was also nervous of seeing the EGF user again (not that Hikari knew that was what his ability was called). This was mostly because the last time she had seen him was during her chunin exams, where the boy completely ignored any attack Hikari threw at him, and just kept coming at him, she had had a nightmare about him at least once every week since her second examination. That being said though, it was probably a good idea that he was now on her side now, and not against her.
"Anyways, Kenshin, Its great to see you again! Did you get a briefing on our mission?" If Kenshin said no, then Hikari would give him a quick rundown on what the mission entailed. If he did, then Hikari would move on to her next question. "Well then, before we head out, I had a question for you. Since we last saw each other, I have become a specialist at placing seals that can provide support to you in various different ways. I was wondering if you had any desire for one?"
With that, Hikari would go into her weapon bag and pull out a small flier and hand it to Kenshin, it read as following.
[i]
1. Mark Seal- A very simple seal, as long as you within the same country as Hikari, she will have the ability to summon you to her if needed.
2. Chakra Storage Seal - A seal that has the ability to store some extra charka into a place on the body, is able to be called back upon as a second source of energy.
3. Telepathy Seal - A seal that allows two or more parties to communicate telepathically, no mater where they are in the world.
4. Chakra Barrier seal: When placed on the user, one has the ability to create a damage reducing barrier around the user. Any attacks that comes in will do less damage if this seal is active on the user.
5. Holy Seals: A powerful S rank seal that can boost the body far beyond it's natural limits, while using this seal, the user's body will be pushed beyond what an S rank boosting technique can do, but will slowly wear down the mussels of the user. Is dangerous, and depending on how healthy the barer of the seal is, does have a real possibility of death on the barer. However, what is for sure, is after the seal is appiled, the specimen with the seal placed on them will black out, due to an overkill of chakra in their system.
Of these Holy Seals, there are 6 types of seals, They are listed as follows.
~ Holy Seal of the Brute: a Seal designed to increase the physical strength and durability of those who it is placed on. Is recomended for TaiJutsu Users.
~ Holy seal of the the vanguard: A seal that increases the users strength and speed by a large amount, it is very much a seal that supports a blitzkrieg style. Recomended for those who specialize in weapons.
~Holy seal of the Blade Singer: A Seal that increases one's physical strength, and chakra levels. Probably best used for one that combines Ninjutsu and Melee attacks together.
~ Holy seal of the War Caster: This is A seal that increases one's chakra and stamina, allowing them to cast more powerful jutsu for a longer period of time. It is recommended for Ninjutsu users that like to stay back and fire for a long period of time.
~ Holy Seal of the Earth: One of the stronger jutsu, it focuses on increasing one's chakra level, and putting their durability through beyond what normal shinobi should be capable of. Note however, this jutsu does take a lot more of a toll on the body then anywhere else.
~Holy seal of the Heavens: Prehaps the strongest of the seals, this jutsu gives a massive boost to speed, and a large boost to chakra. On top of that, those who have mastered this seal will have wings sprout from their back, giving them the ability to fly around. Similar to that of the earth seal, this seals drain on the person is a lot more than that of the other seals.
(See Hikari's stat page for the Seals and what the relate to.)
With that, Hikari would wait to see if Kenshin had any desire for any before they continued. "So, If you are ready, according to the mission report, it looks like the last known place of the bandits was in a canyon a few Kilometers south of here. It is actually a place near my home town. If you want, we can walk there, or, I have been working on some space time ninjutsu that would be able to get us there instantly. If you prefer, we could just take that way."
If Kenshin would of preferred walking, Hikari would then nod and let him take point. However, if Kenshin would of preferred to take the easy way, the chestnut haired girl would instead nod, and start to form the 10 handsigns needed in order to create the Rift between the two places. If this went uninterupted, then there would be a large portal that would apear just outside of the gate, (Probably scaring a few civilians and Gaurds while they were at it.) between the two places.

Well damn, Kenshin really wasn't paying much attention to the weather today, as he could have sworn that it had been dry and sunny earlier...but nope, apparently dark clouds had been blotting out the sun for most of the day, all the while pouring rain down on the people of Hoshigakure. In most Countries weather like this would make everything seem rather bleak and gloomy...but in a country as dry and arid as Haven rain was not seen as a bad thing. Now that isn't to say the people were out dancing naked in the rain… because they weren't, but the streets that were generally vacant at this time of day were now filled with people. These people were of course wearing rain coats and holding umbrellas to stop themselves from getting wet, but even without the rain soaking everybody it was making life a lot more comfortable for the citizens of Hoshi. The usually harsh rays of the sun were being completely blocked out by the dark clouds that hung overhead, and the usually unbearable heat of the desert was being drowned out by the coolness of the falling rain.
Kenshin actually found himself enjoying the feeling of the cold rain falling down on him lightly as he walked through the back alleys of Hoshi. Usually he would just walk through the streets on his way through the village, but due to the rain the streets were absolutely packed full of people...and for someone as antisocial and paranoid as Kenshin crowds of people were to be avoided at all costs. Kenshin’s long silver mane appeared to be quite a few shades darker than usual due to all of them water that had been absorbed by his locks. The water in his hair would of course cause the silver locks to mat to both his face and his back, but that didn't really bother the teen that much because the hair wasn't blocking his vision. Thankfully the rest of his attire was being kept dry by his trench coat, seeing as trench coats are actually just a type of rain coat. He actually wore it because of that fact, not only did it look cool but it also stopped his clothes from being stained by the blood of his prey whenever he went on one of his hunting trips.
As Kenshin finally reached Hoshi’s gates he felt something familiar on the edge of his senses, a feeling that would have caused a small shiver to travel up his spine if he still had one.
“...Why her...I know I wanted someone familiar...but why her?” Kenshin would mutter to himself with a small scowl on his face as he made his way to the gate. He found himself hoping that he was wrong, that she was passing through the gates on a different mission, or that perhaps she was here to take over for one of the gate guards...but for some reason he had the feeling that she was here to act as his partner for this mission. Once Kenshin reached the gates he would wait just outside the village walls for the owner of the Chakra signature to arrive, small scowl still fixed on his face.
‘Of all the missions I could have been paired with her for...why did it have to be this one?’ Kenshin would wonder to himself as the scowl on his face grew a little larger.
Since their last meeting he had not had the time to take her out and teach her the lesson he promised, and because of that she was more than likely the same ditzy and naive girl that had disappointed him so thoroughly on their first meeting. Kenshin knew that until she saw the true nature of this accursed world he would not be able to stand her, because in their profession innocence and naivety would only get people killed. Suddenly, Kenshin was struck by an idea...one that caused his unique silver and red eyes to widen in shock...how had he not seen it before. This mission was the perfect way to teach the foolish girl about the truth of this world, after all, the two do them weren't being sent out to capture the bandits...no, the two of them were being sent out to kill them, plain and simple. With that simple realisation Kenshin’s scowl faded away and a smirk took its place...this mission was going to be a lot more fun than he had assumed it would be.
When Kenshin’s red eyes finally spotted Hikari’s approaching form a silver brow would quirk in an almost questioning manner. It seemed that Hikari was paying even less attention to the weather today than Kenshin had been earlier, because she was completely soaked. Unlike him though she didn't seem to be wearing any type of rain coat or waterproof clothing, and as such her clothes were just as drenched as she was. The brunette didn't really seem to mind that she was soaked to the bone, a little strange but nothing too important, so Kenshin would simply make a mental note that Hikari seemed to love the rain.
“Oh, I'm sorry about the hold up!” The girl would exclaim loudly, something that caused Kenshin to resist the urge to sigh. He had attributed all of the girls random yelling in their first meeting to nerves...but it seemed that she was just a very loud person in general...great.
“I got...distracted ...with my own thoughts...” the girl would say, and once more Kenshin would resist the urge to sigh. The constant pauses mid sentence was yet another habit of hers that he had made note of in their initial meeting. This was also a habit of hers that he had attributed to nerves, but she had no reason to feel nervous now, so it must have been yet another annoying habit of hers...just...great
“I only got here around twenty seconds ago, so there really was no hold up” Kenshin would say in what seemed to be an amused tone as he shrugged off the young Namikaze’s apology. Honestly he did find it more than a little amusing that the girl was so nervous in his presence, but unfortunately that simply would not do whilst they were on a mission together...it would only make her more of a liability to him.
“Anyways, Kenshin, It’s great to see you again!” The girl would exclaim, her words making the stitched and scarred albino bite his tongue lightly, stopping himself from calling her lie. It was pretty obvious that she didn't find it great to see him again, but if she honestly believed that he was dense enough to not notice how tense she had been since she had been in his presence then he would allow her to continue believing that.
“Did you get a briefing on our mission?” She would ask, causing Kenshin's smirk to become just a little darker
“We are tasked with hunting down and eliminating a group of bandits belonging to the organisation, the Jaws of Grima. Last known location of this particular group was near one of the smaller towns near the borders of Haven and Shadow.” Kenshin would say in a completely professional way, masking the sheer glee that he was feeling about actually being assigned this mission.
“Well then, before we head out, I had a question for you. Since we last saw each other, I have become a specialist at placing seals that can provide support to you in various different ways. I was wondering if you had any desire for one?” The soaked brunette would ask, ger words causing Kenshin’s right brow to raise
“A Fuinjutsu specialist...how interesting” Kenshin would mutter to himself. Despite the fact that by blood he was half Uzumaki, Kenshin had never really been too interested in Fuinjutsu. In fact, the half blood would go so far as to say that he personally found Fuinjutsu to be an extremely boring field of study. Yes, he knew that Fuinjutsu could be used to do some truly amazing things, but he simply never found himself captivated by it in the way that he had been by Medical Ninjutsu.
At this point Hikari would pull out her flier and hand it to Kenshin, who in turn would take the flier and lean over it as he read it, to protect the paper from the rain that was still falling. Hmm, there was no way that Kenshin was going to let her place a Mark Seal on him, nor was he interested in having her place a telepathy seal him. The Chakra Storage and Chakra Barrier Seal sounded pretty useful, but in the end he knew that he had techniques in his arsenal that rendered both of them null and void. The Holy Seal variants on the other hand appealed to him, most of the names were a little ridiculous but the effects sounded very useful. Out of all the variants only two of them truly stood out to him, the Heaven and Earth. Heaven because it provided a massive boost to speed and chakra, all the while granting the user wings and giving them the ability to fly. Earth on the other hand he was considering because of the Boost to durability, and despite the fact that his Assimilate All of Creation gave him access to multiple forms that increased his durability, the technique had some rather large downsides.
In the end it came down to one choice, durability or speed...and to Kenshin that choice could not have been easier.

As Kenshin Uzumaki took the flier, Hikari started to think of his last name, the same last name as a few of the students in the Hoshigakure academy, which the chestnut haired jounin sometimes taught at. Thinking about it, all of them seemed to have two similarties, the first being that they all had long, red, straight hair. The second one was that all of them either seemed to take a liking of Fuinjutsu, or Medical ninjutsu. The albino didn't look anything like them, having long white hair and inhumanely Pale skin, and also white hair. On top of that, Kenshin had never showed any abilities to use medical or fuinjutsu.....
Then again, the Jounin didn't know for sure what Kenshin was skilled at, in their battle, Hikari had been focused on her fellow Hyuga Genin to the point that she didn't really notice Kenshin Uzumaki's advancement towards her until it was to late. After that, he threw her around, took her chakra, brutally destroyed two of her clones, and basically stayed out of the exam until it met a final conclusion (Of Hikari basicly giving up, apparently in a way that made her look good, when all she was thinking was 'EAKKKKKK! GET THIS CRAZY ALBINO AWAY FROM ME!!!!'
(Probably will go back and edit the second part of Hikari's backstory, but wanted to post for you now.)
Now, that Kenshin Uzumaki was done, He would look up to Hikari and say, "I would be interested in receiving the Earth variant of the Holy Seal"
'Strange....' Hikari would think, when it came to people requesting a seal, usualy they would request either one of the safer seals, or would go for the Holy seal of Heaven. The fact that the dark chunin was going for this made the Fuinjutsu mistress ask herself.... why would he choose Durability over speed? (Probably because Kenshin actually is pretty smart when it comes to builds.)
Anyways, continuing on, Hikari would nod, and say, "Ok.... Just one second, also, as a reminder.... the sudden burst of the new sort of chakra entering into your system...... you will possibly Pass out, so just be forewarned, Now with that being said, where would you like me to put the seal?"
With the warning out of the way, and presuming Kenshin would like to proceed, The Fuinjutsu user would place her hands together and take a deep breath, Activating her wind style, wind Rejuvenation, before reaching out to where ever Kenshin had asked Hikari to place the seal and lay her fragile hand on kenshin's skin. The seal would place itself on him, and would cause the man to pass out.
With that, Hikari would look around, it was probably best to get a move on. It was probably not the best idea to stay put with an unconcious Shinobi outside of the village. With that, Hikari would pick Kenshin up on her shoulder (She has 25 strength, so she can do this.) And would make the hand signs stated, and then would let her wind Rejuvenation jutsu fade into nothingness, the use of the jutsu being used. With that, Hikari would enter into the rift, and would head out to complete their mission.

Upon hearing his choice the young Namikaze would nod her head, before opening her mouth and starting to speak "Okay...just one second, also, as a reminder....the sudden burst of the new sort of chakra entering into your system...you will possibly pass out, so just be forewarned." she would explain, getting a relatively reluctant nod from Kenshin. As someone who specialised in Medical Ninjutsu he could definately understand why having this seal placed on his body would cause him to pass out. If what Hikari had just said was true, and it more than likely was considering she was the one placing the seal, then this seal utilised a form a chakra that would be foreign to his body directly into his chakra circulatory system, and no matter how durable his body actually was it would have some side effects. But in the end he deemed any possible side effects to be worth the risk if this seal truly was as great as Hikari was making it out to be.
"Now, with that being said, where would you like me to place the seal?" the Jounin would ask, the question itself making Kenshin pause for a second to think.
Where would he like the seal...hmm, with his body the way it was it would need to be somewhere on a part of the body that he wouldn't be able to replace in the future, so either his torso or his head. The Albino was actually leaning more towards the head, as he wasn't exactly sure what would happen to the seal if the portion of his body was placed on was damaged in some way.
But that also had a few problems, such as where exactly would he have her place the seal on his head that wasn't in plain sight. He could have her place it somewhere in his hairline, much like he had placed his Mark Seal in the young Uchiha Keito's hairline so long ago...but honestly that idea didn't appeal to him very much, as it would be clearly visible if his hair was ever cut short enough. Ugh...in the end he could only really think of one place that he could have the seal placed on his head that would be out of plain sight for the most part, and wouldn't be in danger of being damaged whilst he was in combat.
"I would like the seal placed on my tongue, as far back as you can possible place it" the silver haired Chunin would say with a completely straight face, his reasoning being that the further back the seal was placed the harder it would be for people to see when he was speaking. Then again, it was rather unusual for people to stare at the tongue's of others while they spoke, or for someone to open their mouth side enough for others to see their tongues clearly while they spoke, but he didn't want to take the chance of some wierd person spotting it becuse they were staring right into his mouth as he spoke.
Kenshin took Hikari placing her hands together and taking a deep breath as a signal that it was time to extend his tongue, mainly because the moment she did so her chakra signature skyrocketed. Kenshin would open his mouth and extend his tongue as far out as he possibly could, before flattening it down to his chin so that Hikari could get as far back as possible. Ugh, the very idea of this girl sticking her finger into his mouth and touching his tongue disgusted him, but it was all for the sake of power, so he could deal with the disgust...for now anyway, once this mission was over he was going to be using a pretty large amounth of antiseptic mouth wash.
When the girls finger came into contact with his tongue Kenshin would resist the urge to gag, not just because of how far back the finger had touched, but also because he had no clue how long ago the girl had last washed her hands, or what she had touched since...ugh. But that sensation of disgust was quickly overruled by the feeling of euphoria that came with the new and intense form of chakra that was now flowing through him...it was both intense and amazing...he would even go so far as to say that the feeling of pure power flowing through him was addictive. If this was truly just a taste of the true power that this seal had to offer then Kenshin was truly in Hikari's debt, as the innocent and naive girl had just given him a masisve boost of power all the while asking for nothing in return...although, in his opinion that was in itself a foolish move on her part. Surely if she had the ability to give out power like this she could stand to ask for something in return, be it favours or even just ryo...but ho knows, perhaps after this mission was over she would start doing such a thing.
But that feeling was short lived, as mere moments after the seal was placed Kenshin's unique silver and red eyes would roll into the back of his head, and his body would drop to the floor like a puppet with it's strings cut. The stitched and scarred young man would have to rely on Hikari to either return his unconcious body to the safety of the village, or to carry him to their destination so that the two of them could continue on with the mission.
