Higuto stepped into the academy where students rushed from one way to the next in a panic as it was indeed the day for them to test themselves and acquire the rank of Genin. Higuto was ready to take said test as he entered the exam hall where other students were there waiting to take their turn. Higuto took a seat by two other students as he waited to take his exam. The nerves started to get to him as he hoped he could prove himself worthy of becoming a ninja.

Alas, the students had indeed been dashing around in a panic, yet it wasn't down to their nerves about passing an exam they could take again without repercussion. Perhaps the most likely explanation for such terror to get the better of them was down to the successful breach by Kirigakure. Perhaps Higuto had been feeling his chest thump and mistaking it for heart palpitations, when chances were it was merely the ground itself shaking as thousands of shinobi made their way into his village.
A single fellow noticed that children had actively been running out from the ninja academy, which seemed a bit odd given that he had just conducted an invasion on a village. What kind of lackluster ninja didn't escort these poor people to safety? Curious as to whether all of them had escaped, the blue haired fellow walked up the steps and into the scorched doors of the academy. The blue Mizukage hat was tied around the man's torso, resting limply on his back with fresh splatters of blood covering the left side of him. As he walked down the hall of the academy he left a trail of dirt that coagulated with the other liquids that stained his sandals after the war. His grey eyes happened across three students.. simply sitting down as if nothing had happened. "What kind of stuff happens here for them to not consider a war out of the ordinary?" Gyuki retorted in his mind, before the blue haired fellow strode into the room, taking pride of place at the front of the room before the students.
"Hello. You're students, right? Congratulations on taking the first step to becoming a Genin of Konohagakure! I'll be your proctor. Perform the three basic academy jutsu: Kawarimi No Jutsu, Bunshin No Jutsu, and Henge No Jutsu. Explain the tactical advantages of each of these. Once you have finished, explain your Will of Fire to me." The fellow spoke with a wry smile. Perhaps, if the nerves of the students hadn't got the better of them, they'd notice the head adorned with an ANBU mask hanging from the blue haired man's waist by its hair. Maybe it was just their minds playing tricks on them?

Higuto didn't recognize the strange man as he heard him speak the objectives that they were all to accomplish for their exam. Nevertheless he stood firm as he stepped forth and thought of which technique he would use first. Upon approaching he noticed the blue hat as he recognized it being similar in shape and design to that of the Hokage. The thought that this man might possibly be a kage as well crossed his mind as he took a deep breath and prepared his psyche for what he was sure would be a tough exam.
"My name is Higuto Aburame and I wish to take my place amongst other Genin as a shinobi of the Leaf. I'll start with the Clone Technique." Taking his place he brought up his hands as he could feel his heart race with nerves. He hoped his skills would prove adequate as he began forming the handsigns to initiate the jutsu:
Ram, Snake, and finally Tiger.
He molded his chakra within himself as he felt it swell and grow out of him as he became covered in smoke. "Bunshin no Jutsu!" He felt it work even before he opened his eyes as the smoke cleared to reveal another form of himself as he looked at his doppelganger then back to the proctor. "Now this doppelganger of mine is not made of flesh nor substance but is still a useful technique. It can be used to disorient an enemy who may not be aware that it's not actually real or it can be used as a decoy for a ninja to be able to sneak past or even surprise attack another shinobi."
The clone dispersed into thin air as Higuto took his place front and center of the proctor once more. He had hoped the first jutsu had passed now he only had two more to get through. "Now I will try the transformation technique. I will commit to transform into that of a person I crossed paths with on the road." He brought up his hands once more as he commenced to make the signs: First came dog, then boar next, and finally followed by ram.
He felt the chakra within him swell once again as it flowed throughout his body as he brought the image of the man he passed earlier into his mind clearly and smoke surrounded his body once more. "Henge no Jutsu!" His eyes were closed as he felt the sensation of his limbs lengthening as his height increased before the smoke cleared and he opened his eyes to examine himself. His body had grown to 5'9" as his hair had grown longer as well as changed color to white. A scar adorned his cheek and his clothes had taken a more ripped and rugged look as he felt that he had perfected the technique. He relaxed his chakra as another puff of smoke burst forth and as soon as it cleared Higuto stood back to normal.
"So the transformation technique is very useful to a ninja. With it shinobi can infiltrate into hideouts, other villages, or anywhere really under the guise of another identity. They could possibly be able to impersonate even those that are high in leadership and power within the respective infiltration locations. It can be used to gather, and steal, information from enemies, it can be used to defeat a large enemy force from within on the battlefield, and it can even be used to transform a ninja not only into another person but possibly into even an animal. All in all it's a very useful jutsu."
Higuto stretched as he prepared to initiate the final jutsu for the proctor. He pointed to a log that was about half his own size which he had brought into the exam room. "I will now commence the substitution jutsu to switch places with that log." He brought up his hands for one more set of hand signs as he allowed his chakra to flow once again. He first formed tiger, then boar, ox, dog, then finally snake as his chakra settled within him and he brought up a fist before punching himself in the face.
His self punch caused him to stagger and fall though just before he hit the ground a large puff of smoke once more surrounded his body as the log had taken his place and fallen to the floor in a loud clatter as he stood where the log had been. "So this jutsu is also useful as it is used to create the illusion of a ninja seemingly being hurt from an attack. It's purpose is to disorient the enemy and allow the user to take the enemy by surprise and even possibly deal the killing blow. It's even handy if a ninja finds themselves in need of having to retreat." Higuto stepped back in his old spot as he faced the proctor.
"In regards to what I believe to be my will of fire it has always been to protect the ones that I hold dearly close to me as well as to defend the place that they, as well as myself, call home. However the people that I consider to be close to me are vast in quantity and the place that I call 'home' is not just the Leaf village but rather that of the world itself. The purpose of me becoming a ninja is so that I can gain the strength and knowledge to defend my home and those within it. A big dream and goal indeed but it's a goal I will strive to acheive everyday and I will never stop until I can stand tall against all who seek to oppose all that I protect. That's my ninja way, my will of fire, and I thank you for your time in proctoring my exam. I hope I proved myself in this test." He bows before the proctor before stepping back and taking a seat while awaiting for the verdict.

Higuto Aburame. Perhaps this is a name worth remembering. Only time would tell what future fate had wove for this young boy. His analysis of the clone technique was spot on, a fair assessment of its prowess yet not overstepping its boundaries. The next jutsu however, surprised him a bit more than the others. Higuto sought to intentionally make it more difficult than it needed to be.. To remember all of the details of a man he'd simply seen in passing, when there was someone right before him. Then it struck him. If Xyxer was unaware of how that man looked, he couldn't poke out any discrepancies between the real version and the imitation, and as long as he didn't conjure an elephant's truck in place of a nose, he should be fine on that front. A cunning trick, one the boy may not even be aware of himself, yet Xyxer hoped he was. It'd be a waste of innate intelligence if such a talent was to be ignored.
His description of it was adequate, yet the blue haired man felt the need to interject, "Using such a low ranking jutsu in the company of the prestigious is a recipe for disaster, Higuto. Most people have sensory shinobi with them, and this jutsu will not aid you too much if they happen to follow the trend." Xyxer spoke, yet offered no congratulations or any insight as to how the boy was doing as is. He believed he should be able to create the motivation he needed to power on through alone, because if he relied on the support of others.. he was no true shinobi at all.
His attention was not redirected towards a log that was in the room. The creme de la creme. The sole jutsu that was viable in combative scenarios with great effect. The most important jutsu for anyone's starting arsenal. Although, his attention was momentarily distracted when the child went so far as to try cave his own face in. Was he really that tired of the examination? Yet thankfully, he was merely performing the jutsu to its fullest extent! Xyxer continued to not show any sign of visible emotion, allowing the boy to wonder and ponder as to whether he had failed for something as minor as a slight position change from where he should have been. Higuto's declaration of his Will of Fire was really quite something. He wasn't bogged down with village allegiance, nor personal gain. He wanted to defend the entirety of the world against any who dared harm it. A promising ninja. Finally, Xyxer nodded his head, clapping his hands, "Nicely done. You've earned the title of Genin, Higuto. Collect a headband on your way from this room and help in the village efforts to make this nation strong once more." Xyxer spoke, nodding his head a little out of respect. He'd proceed to wait for the next student.

Higuto stands, ecstatic that he was able to accomplish the goal, as he tries to keep his composure. While he had passed the test he still made an error with one of his techniques. He had not considered the possibility of sensory ninjas being within enemy lines at all. They could most certainly be able to discern if one was disguised amongst them. He bowed before the proctor once more.
"Thank you for your advice, sir. It was an honor to have you as proctor." With that he stood up once more before walking to the exit. Next to the door is a table covered in blue headbands with a metal plate on each of them. Higuto recognized these as the headbands that marked a person as a shinobi for etched within each metal plate in their center was the symbol of Konahagakure. He proceeded to pick one up from the table and thought of whether or not it would best suit him to have it around his head or elsewhere.
He decided that for now he'd place it around his head as he wraps the blue cloth around it before tightening the knot that rests on the back of his head. A smile crept along his face as he felt as though he was one step closer to his lifelong goal before finally exiting out of the room and shutting the door behind him.
