Pulling the Weeds.

Mission:

Task: Civilians have busy lives. Apparently busier lives then that of a shinobi. It is your job to help assist in attending to their gardens. If you don't have a green thumb, I'd advise you to continue with precaution.

Sunagakure No Sato, otherwise known as the Village Hidden in the Sands. Despite the general location of the village, the interior very much cooler than the area outside of the village gates. Satoru couldn’t quite attribute the reason behind low temperature to anything particular. Today was his first full day in the Village. He began his day by departing from the Dessert Rose Inn, his tab for the first few days being covered by a rather interesting Shinobi that he had come across while entering the city. It was a generous gesture from her to pay for his stay, and one that enabled him to get all of his clothes thoroughly washed and free of the smell of rotting flesh.

Wearing his freshly ironed clothes, he exchanged a few words with the inn keeper who directed him towards the local mission for open jobs. He bowed his head in acknowledgement, his body concealed by his usual jet black cloak, with his face re-wrapped in a clean black scarf. He raised his hood and made his way down to the local mission board. It wasn’t long before he caught sight of multiple individuals meticulously looking through available missions, almost cherry picking jobs that were tailored to their skill.

Satoru didn’t have time to waste, he needed money and he needed it fast. As he approached the mission board, he didn’t bother reading the contents of the first mission that cross his gaze. He snatched it from the bulleting board, glancing only at the location of the job. He walked over to the teller, placing the mission description on her desk. His huge 6ft 7 shadow towering over her at a small unstable desk.
She didn’t take long, noting Satorus name and place of stay prior to providing him with the full mission overview. On this occasion he decided to read the contents of the mission, it appeared that he had to do something as simple as pick some for an old gentlemen by the name of Yani. Simple enough.

Satoru followed a set of directions drafted by the clerk, arriving at the location of the mission within a matter of minutes. Upon arrival, he found an old man sat outside, selling an assortment of herbs and spices. He looked up at Satoru, gesturing to his spice rack while Satoru extended the mission contract out to the man. “Ah— you’re here to clear my weeds, perfect. Lets go.” The old man quickly pushed his herbs and spices into his store before gesturing Satoru up a series of stairs that brought the duo up to the roof of the establishment.

Satoru was no stranger to pulling weeds, picking up odd jobs on small farms in what felt like a past life. He looked down at the old man as he gestured to the small plantation that the man had created atop his building. Before the old man could lower his head, Satorus eyes darted from plant to plant, inspecting the relative health of each plant in relation to the weeds that had grown around them. At top speed, Satoru dashed away from his location, effortlessly navigating between the plants to safely remove a series of troubling weeds that lingered around the more exotic plants.

As the old man lowered his arm, and turned to where Satoru previously stood, the job was done and dusted. Satoru flashed a brief smile under the scarf as he tossed the weeds at the old mans feet. “They can be composted.” Said Satoru as he made his way back out of the establishment. He navigated through a series of alleys before quickly arriving at the mission centre. The client had called ahead to sing Satorus praises and thank him for swiftly removing the weeds but he cared not for the praise but the monetary value associated with such a simple task. He collected his 500 ryo and quickly made his way back to the Bulleting Board.
