Damon was not nearly as narcissistic or arrogant or egotistical as some Hozuki chuunin were. Just saying. Although Akemi ignored his last question which was totally not a reference to a sponge or anything.
When Damon was informed by Akemi that he was glowing, he would have stopped and looked down at his person… before smiling. This had been what he wanted. A way to increase his own abilities, preferably his speed. Speed was just ridiculously important in the shinobi world and an important factor in the realm of combat. Basically speed is what seemed to ultimately determines the winner. Lightning just happened to be the fastest and seemingly most common element.
“How do you control it?”
Stereotypical Japanese shy character stuttering aside, Damon was not quite sure as to what to say. Lightning nature simply came natural to him. Maybe he was born with it. Maybe it's Maybelline. After all, fire was the natural element of the Uchiha. Clan members might have looked down on him for what lightning could have symbolized. Then Damon had his answer. “You don't. Lightning, while fast, was also erratic. Unpredictable. If you try to contain it, you'll push yourself farther than you need to.” He lifted his hands with his palms up, looking down at them. The blue aura surrounding him seemed brighter at his arms and feet, as it boosted his strength and speed. He looked back up at Akemi. “You’re just a rod. You have to channel it, not confine it… Did that make any sense?”

(OOC: Feel free to exit, I want to remain here for a bit and do some solo training :p)
So you don't control the lightning, huh? Akemi supposed that made sense, his slow mind was having trouble wrapping itself around it. But he felt like he had at least a small grasp on the problem at-hand.
He nodded with certainty to show Damon that he understood, which was a total lie. But Akemi didn't want to pester Damon any further, plus he was getting hyped up about finally learning a new element. How cool was that! Some chuunin didn't even have a second element. And then here Akemi was, finally about to learn a second one! He partially smiled underneath his scarf, he was ready to finally do this!
He closed his eyes and started concentrating again, feeling his chakra begin to get the familiar consistency of crackling and electricity. He noted that it was becoming a lot more easier to call upon the lightning now. Good, he was slowly grasping it. This time, instead of trying to force the lightning to do what he wanted, he simply let it flow. He let it... Go.
The lightning coursed through his system, rejuvenating his muscles and heightening his, already, powerful senses. This was it! He started to visibly relax, his stiffened shoulders slacking. After all, he needed to let the lightning do its thing. To go with the flow. Right now, the lightning seemed to be bunching up around his core, completely doing its own thing and adamantly refusing to go anywhere else. Now, Akemi was stuck at an impasse. He couldn't force the lightning to do anything without the risk of injuring himself again. but he couldn't move it if he didn't force it to move.
Eureka! The word echoed around his mind, instead of forcing it, why not just gently nudge it instead? So, with his new genius plan in mind, he started to 'Make himself a rod'. Using his insane skill to make the rest of his body behave like a much better host to the lightning than his core.
Indeed, due to his supreme genius, the lightning stared to move. Softly gliding throughout his whole body. This time, it was without the horrible jittery feeling. He had done it, he had learnt his second element!
He slowly opened his eyes and regarded Damon with a smile. While looking at Damon, he lifted up his arms and stretched. Obviously quite exhausted from his tiny incident with the lightning earlier.
"Thank you so much D-damon!" Akemi started "T-this was really f-fun! If you ever want to do a m-mission or train t-together again, please come and find me! I-i'm normally found in the city square in the m-mornings, I love the t-tea there." Akemi nodded his thanks after saying this and waited patiently for Damon's response.

There was a certain sense of pride in seeing someone that you taught be able to finally gain an understanding of what you were teaching them. Even if it felt a tad odd because it was pretty apparent in his unscheduled training session with Akemi, where the shy boy had surprisingly managed to contest him. Maybe Damon was just used to being stronger. They were not equals as of now, but perhaps one day they could become rivals. “My pleasure,” came the polite reply. “I'm always open to some training.” Damon always needed to better himself anyways. He needed to go back to what he originally craved: adventure and a legacy. Although he needed to become stronger to become a legend. “I'll see you around, Akemi.” Damon put his hands in his pockets and headed out of the training grounds.

Akemi watched Damon leave with a sad smile on his face, it was a good experience meeting a new person. But unfortunately, like all good things, it eventually had to end. Whats more, Akemi felt A LOT stronger than he had before he met Damon. His body felt like it had been pushed to a new level, he could probably even match Damon's speed with ease now. Perhaps one day they could become something like rivals? The idea seemed cheesy, but judging from how strong he had grown from this short interaction with Damon. How much stronger would he become in the long run? Strong enough to protect himself? Strong enough to never feel hopeless again? For the first time in ages, Akemi was actually excited about the future.
Akemi started stretching, working the built-up lactic acid out of his muscles. What could he train now? Akemi scanned his brains for any techniques which he had yet to learn. Well, he noticed that he no longer knew any C or B ranked techniques. What, with him completely unlocking the full potential of both his block, and the seven heavens breathing method. He was SO ready to learn some more taijutsu techniques!
After scanning his brain for a few more minutes, the memory came back to him. A simplistic technique called "Sucker Punch". If his memory was serving him correctly, it seemed that if the user was a lot stronger than the victim, then the victim would be stunned for a while. Leaving them open to hit them with a more devastating technique. Akemi quickly checked around him to see if anyone was around, content with his searches, Akemi would settle into a basic stance. Feet shuffling around, both arms in front of his face.
Right, so the technique was something about punching the target's core and forcing air out of their lungs. It seemed simple enough for a b-ranked technique. Though Akemi knew from experience, that it was never that easy. Especially with him learning a complicated technique like a b-ranked. A sigh escaped his lips, so much work for one technique. It sure would be easy if he could just learn techniques from socializing? Akemi wished that the moderators would add that function soon, it would be so LITT. Akemi inwardly cringed, where had that random chain of thought appeared from?
Regardless, Akemi decided to actually attempt the technique instead of thinking about the theory behind it. He breathed in, closed his eyes, breathed out. Opening his eyes, Akemi stood in stance, before performing a straight punch with all his speed and strength. Akemi smiled at how much faster he felt his body moving. It felt amazing.
He then did the sucker punch again, and again. Always overshooting and almost losing his balance each punch. No noticeable improvement to differentiate the moves. As Akemi continued to practice, anticipation began to build up in his stomach. He really hoped that someone else would come to the training grounds soon. He was feeling particularly bold after managing to hold a relatively successful conversation with Damon. How hard would it be to find a new friend?

His arm outstretched at incredible speeds once again, sweat was almost drenching his clothes. One of the downsides of wearing a jumper while training was that he grew very hot, especially in the desert-like climate of Hoshi. Seriously, why was he such an imbecile? (Oooh look at me, I'm using fancy language). If Akemi had any amount of self-confidence, he would probably have taken off his jumper and frolicked around the training grounds like a fairy, but he was too shy to do that. Plus, Akemi had the physique of a pale stick, no one would want to see that. At all.
His continuing pummelling of fists started to slow down as he grew more and more tired. Until it was little more than a single sucker punch every 1/2 a minute or so, ugh. He needed to grow stronger. Akemi had the energy reserves of an asthmatic ant lugging a heavy haul of shopping (Black Adder references). Perhaps he had even less. Akemi had been studying taijutsu for a while now and he had found that most practitioners of taijutsu had incredibly small reserves, at least that meant that he wasn't the only one who couldn't run for more than a few hours without starting to get tired.
Akemi stopped his assault completely and sat down on the grass, squinting up at the sun which was currently at its peak, in the center of ths sky. Akemi pulled off his scarf, settling it on the ground beside him, and rolled up his sleeves, attempting to bring as much coolness as he could to himself without revealing to much skin. A task which was proving to be difficult. Why, oh why was he only wearing a jumper instead of a t-shirt and jumper? Lazy writing, that's what.
He closed his eyes and started to visualize himself doing the sucker punch, a method called 'Image' training. It allowed oneself to train, without expending any energy. Though it could not be used as a training substitute, because 1) You still needed to build power and strength, 2) Calculations in your head were never accurate. After visualizing for a few more seconds, Akemi would hear a very odd voice suddenly come out of nowhere.
"HOW COULD YOU FORGET ABOOOOUT MEEE!!!!" Akemi jumped and opened his eyes, to be greeted by the sight of a tiny lizard performing an epic jumping kick to his face. Akemi's eyes widened and he merely tilted his head sideways a few centimeters, making the lizard go flying off behind him in a straight line. The lizard continued on for a few feet, before landing with a haphazard roll, kicking up dust upon its landing.
"W-what, how could this happen!" A complete and utter mockery of fake sadness seeped through the chameleon's tone as he lay still. The chameleon raised up his hand and grasped the air above him. "This is it for me, this is the end. Please tell my family I love them, tell my friends that I never liked them anyway. Thank you." Akemi continued to stare, as the supposed corpse of the chameleon went limp. Akemi sighed, got up. He walked up the chameleon and picked him up, the chameleon staying stubbornly "Dead". Another sigh escaped Akemi's lips, why did he choose to ally himself with this... Creature?
Akemi unsummoned Carlos, deciding that he was not worth the time of day and settled back on the ground in a meditative stance. Never ceasing in his efforts of visualizing the sucker punch. A smile developed on his lips, today had been somewhat fun. He had managed to talk to someone, he had learnt a new element, he had progressed his block and seven heavens to their peak. And he had just learnt the new sucker punch technique, what a fun day indeed
